Set amongst a coconut grove bordering the seafront, this luxurious boutique hotel makes an ideal base for a relaxing get-away on the island of Mauritius. The surrounding area features a wide range of leisure activities, including golf, diving and big-game fishing. The hotel has windsurfing boards and a number of boats available for guests' use, and kite-surfing classes can be arranged with advanced notice. The hotel has three restaurant options, one on-site, one on-board a historic motorboat. Breakfast is provided, and guests can enjoy a delicious complimentary afternoon tea. The guest accommodation comprises 30 rooms and six suites, some less than ten metres from the sea. The rooms are stylishly furnished, and have a terrace, bathroom, air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

A lovely place for our wedding anniversary
A beautiful location on the waterfront with a friendly, welcoming but professional atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The food is excellent and the whole stay was good value for money.

Perfection
From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and welcome. Whilst the buildings and rooms are stunning, it is the staff which make the difference and elevate the experience at 20 degrees Sud. The yogi (Kenny) was calm and delivered brilliant yoga sessions on the beach. Jean-Micheal and the boat team ensured safe trips for snorkling and Nash and the cocktail team provided exceptional service. The resturant team and chef (too many to name) delivered consistently perfect meals in the most beautiful surroundings with attentive service. The rooms are very clean and the housekeeping team were discrete.
We cannot fault a thing with our stay.
Beautiful and relaxing
We really loved our stay here. The hotel property is on a beautiful stretch of sandy beach with gorgeous views of the water and overall a very calm relaxed and quiet vibe. The pool is excellent. Our room was beautifully decorated, very spacious and comfortable, with an excellent bathroom and balcony. The level of service provided by the staff is a real highlight - everyone from the reception, restaurant, bar, spa, cleaning etc. were very warm and welcoming. It was our honeymoon so we really appreciated the kind attentiveness and special experience. The food in the restaurant is fantastic, and the spa treatment we booked was also really relaxing, definitely recommend. The morning yoga session on the beach was a great way to start the day. Dinner on the Lady Lisbeth boat is an experience you should not miss!
An exceptional boutique hotel.
This small but delightful hotel is a real gem for anyone looking to escape the larger, more impersonal corporate hotel chains.
Set in a converted colonial house, with charming additional thatched chalets, a bar overlooking the pool, and several inviting dining areas, the hotel has been beautifully designed to provide a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. During our stay, the guests appeared to be a lovely mix of retired travellers and younger couples, all seemingly drawn to the hotel’s intimate character. The hotel operates on a half-board basis, and the excellent fine-dining restaurant was the first choice for the vast majority of guests. The food was delicious, with an impressive range of dishes to choose from.
However, what really sets this hotel apart from so many others is the genuine care and attention shown by its staff. Everyone we encountered was well trained, polite and friendly, but, more importantly, they seemed genuinely committed to making each guest’s stay as enjoyable as possible.
One particular incident perfectly illustrates this. At breakfast, my wife had some irritation in her eye and returned to our room to collect a tissue. After breakfast, we were sitting by the waterfront when the housemaid who had serviced our room approached us. Having noticed my wife collecting the tissues, she had thoughtfully arranged some fresh lemon slices, honey and herbal tea in our room, thinking she might be suffering from a cold! This was such a considerate gesture. To make it even more notable, the housekeeper subsequently called in to ask whether my wife was feeling better and whether we would like a doctor to be called. It was this level of personal attention and thoughtfulness that really made our stay so special.
I also greatly appreciated the hotel’s no-tipping policy. For guests who wish to recognise the excellent service they have received, there is a donation box at reception, or a contribution can be added to the final bill. We were assured that the funds raised are shared among all members of staff. This is a refreshing approach that allows guests to show their appreciation while ensuring that everyone benefits.
Windy? The only drawback during our five-night stay (mid October) was the weather on the waterfront. A strong breeze blew in from the bay on most days, making the beach less appealing for sunbathing. The hotel pool has a discrete glass screen on the sea facing side which may be a clue. The surrounding beaches were noticeably more sheltered and offered much calmer conditions during our stay.
If you are looking for a luxurious hotel with character and charm, outstanding food and genuinely attentive staff, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It is an ideal base for exploring the area while enjoying a relaxing and memorable stay.

Really nice boutique hotel
Really nice boutique hotel, great service, superb food, and a lovely atmosphere. The beach is quite small, but if you walk out of the hotel turn right and after a 10 minute walk there is a lane giving access to a much larger beach in front of some luxury villas. All beaches are public. The pool was lovely and the bar staff very friendly. There is a shuttle boat to Grand Baie which has a few shops by the marina, but I think you have to go into the centre of town for more. The stand out feature was the level of service and the food quality and presentation. Really good stay.
