Maritim Resort and Spa

We chose this place for our honeymoon. It is fantastic. The food is delicious. The beaches and the included activities are amazing. The service was top. Special thanks to Loovash and Nadish for service qnd every helps. My wife and I are very happy; thank you.

We are here at the moment. A fabulous hotel and resort. The staff are very attentive and friendly, nothing is too much. It was my husbands 60th birthday a few days before we arrived and they booked us a fine dining restaurant with a surprise cake! The room (we are 468) is gorgeous with a huge bed, doors to the bathroom that open up onto the room so the enormous bath becomes part of the room, fabulous. Things that I wish I knew before I came: Make sure you change up enough money at the airport when you arrive, cash is essential and get small denomination notes. 100-200 for dining/drinks/porters etc. Book restaurant reservations on your arrival, we were already all inclusive and this includes all restaurants but they need to be booked! For all inclusive there is a 2000 lunch maximum and 2500 dinner maximum which does affect some restaurants so beware! Water activities that don’t include motors are free but do need booking. Cash is king for booking other boat trips or else there a 3% fee for cards. The WiFi is good throughout the whole resort Bring jungle bug spray for yourself & a plug in mosquito repellent for your room. There’s shampoo, conditioner and shower gel included Towels for the beach are included There’s cats and dogs on the beaches and in the hotel, they are friendly and don’t cause issues. The horses are well cared for, as a horse owner I was concerned but having visited the stables they are fine. There’s good walks to see tortoises that are over 100 years old, ruins, a rum distillery, waterfall, lots of crabs that live in holes, archery, lawn chess, rabbits and beautiful private beaches. I wish I was here for longer to experience more, we’re only 2 days in. We wanted to walk and care for the street dogs as someone else mentioned on Tripadvisor but that’s no longer and option sadly. Overall amazing, don’t believe the negative reviews!! We shall be back. xx

As we leave this hotel and Mauritius today, we would like to share our experiences of the Maritim Hotel and it's staff. This was our first time in Mauritius and our holiday coincided with my husband's 50th birthday. Prior to arrival, the hotel had courteously upgraded our room to a suite and we were so looking forward to seeing what that was going to look like as online images looked impressive.

From the moment we stepped out of our taxi after a very long flight, the tone for this hotel and it's staff was set. Genuinely welcomed, given a drink and information about the hotel whilst acknowledging how tired we were was both intuitive and professional. This welcome has been warmly extended throughout our two week holiday here. The staff here are exceptional and go above and beyond with a good heart and smile. Having stayed in many hotels across the world, both myself and my husband are sitting here on our last day talking about how wonderful the people here - and indeed in Mauritius - genuinely welcome you. I have never stayed in a hotel where every single member of staff, from management to maintenance say hello and genuinely mean it. We would like to single out particular individuals who have made our holiday here so special -

Jay at the Suite Beach. Funny, friendly, professional in his approach and does everything he can to make your time on the beach relaxed. Jay has looked after us so well and we thank him very much for his care Jeffry and Dhiraj. Organised all of our dinner reservations, provided buggy rides to take us to restaurants, helped make my husband's birthday special by decorating our room and organising a special candlelight dinner on the beach. Nothing was too much trouble, they were always there to help us whilst giving us space and time to enjoy our holiday. Thank you for looking after us so well. Azagen in the Quarterdeck bar. We spent a lot of time in our holiday either during the day drinking coffee - and the occasional beer - and always visited after our evening meal. Azagen was the consummate professional, always welcoming and helping us to find a table. He runs the bar smoothly and proficiently and alongside his team provides an excellent bar service. But more than that, we always enjoyed our chats and greetings every day, going way above and beyond what he needed to. Thank you Azagen, you and your team have provided us with lots of laughs and smiles in this holiday and have played a big part in helping us to feel welcome at the Maratim. Yael, Yvette and Grace. These lovely girls from Madagascar and Kenya have again been so lovely throughout our holiday. We will genuinely miss them and their lovely smiles. I hope they continue to have opportunities within the Maritim group for career progression as they work super hard and always put the needs of the guests first.

In fact, every member of staff does that. There are lots of other people I haven't got time to mention here but they have all contributed to making our holiday here in Mauritius the best one ever.

Come to Mauritius if you haven't already, it truly lives up to expectations and is so beautiful. Come to the Maritim, the grounds are stunning, the all-inclusive package is brilliant and the dining options here are varied and well executed. Chateau Mon Desir and it's fine dining will be an experience I will remember for a long time to come. But come here for the people. They truly are inspirational in their committment to make everything the best it can be for you. It may not always, in some people's opinions, be right, but we honestly cannot fault anything about our time here and we hope that at some point, we may be able to visit this beautiful island and it's people once again.
