The hotel lies on a private beachfront estate known as Balaclava along Turtle Bay, ideally located between Port Louis (12 km) and Grand Bay (12 km), on the north-west coast, which is known for its good climate. New trunk roads provide easy access to the hotel. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is approximately 60 km from the hotel.
This hotel is a luxurious beach resort and spa of the highest international standard, picturesquely framed by a 25-hectare green tropical garden and nature park and flanked by the Indian Ocean. Its remarkable setting overlooks the most enchanting Turtle Bay. The hotel is a perfect blend of tropical and colonial architecture which provides an elegant background for a sophisticated and yet utterly relaxing holiday, thanks to the unequalled multitude of sports and leisure facilities available. Renovated in 2009, this charming beach hotel has a total of 215 guest rooms. The premises are air-conditioned and guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. Facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange, hairdressing salon and a games room. Younger guests can let off steam in the children's playground and kids' club. There is also a bar at the resort. Conference facilities are available to business travellers and all guests can take advantage of the WLAN Internet access provided. Furthermore, room and laundry services are on offer (fees apply). Those guests who are arriving by car may park their vehicle in the hotel's car park. Bicycles can be hired for a fee from the hotel.

La Marée
We have had an unbelievably nice candlelight dinner at La Marée. Mr. Devisen and his staff were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a delicious meal in a wonderful setting. Everything far exceeded our expectations, and the dinner was an absolute highlight of our vacation. We highly recommend a visit to La Marée!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Hospitality at Maritim Mauritius
Our stay at Maritim Mauritius was made truly special by the incredible team. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it was the people who made our experience truly unforgettable.
A very special big shout-out to General Manager Krishna, whose leadership clearly shines through in the warmth and professionalism of the entire team. Also, a huge thank you to Assistant Manager Antish, who was always welcoming, attentive and genuinely committed to making sure guests were happy.
A big shout-out to Devon, the Restaurant Manager, who deserves special recognition for his wonderful hospitality, professionalism and attention to detail. He made every dining experience feel welcoming and personal, and his presence really added to the overall experience.
Another huge mention goes to Priyankh, the Pool Bar Manager. His service, personality and attention to detail made every visit to the pool bar such a pleasure. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
And then there are two people who deserve the ULTIMATE shout-out — Chef Anil and Chef Manoj! ❤️ Their passion for food truly shines through. I became completely obsessed with one of their dishes during my stay and kept requesting it throughout the five days! 😂 I loved it so much that I simply had to try and recreate it at home. That, to me, says everything!
A huge thank you also to Pooja, Diya and Vimla, who looked after us with such warmth and kindness. Their smiles, attentiveness and friendly service never went unnoticed.
And to Dhroov and Manav, thank you for everything you did to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Every interaction with the team felt genuine and sincere.
What I loved most about Maritim was that the staff never made you feel like just another guest. There was a real sense of warmth, kindness and genuine Mauritian hospitality throughout our stay.
To Krishna, Antish, Devon, Priyankh, Chef Anil, Chef Manoj, Pooja, Diya, Vimla, Dhroov, Manav and the entire Maritim team — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️🇲🇺
You are a true credit to the hotel. We came to Mauritius for the beauty, the beaches and the experience — but we left with something even more special: memories of the wonderful people who made our stay unforgettable.

Review from family trip - Jul 2026
We stayed at Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius in July 2026 with our two boys, ages 4 and 7, and had a fantastic family holiday.
What we loved most about the resort was how much there was to do. The grounds are huge, beautifully maintained, and you never feel like you're running out of things to explore. Whether it was wandering around the property, playing mini golf, water sports (many of which were free), visiting the historic ruins, or just enjoying the scenery, there was always something to keep the whole family entertained.
The beach was beautiful, clean, and perfect for families. We spent hours in the water and loved being able to stay right through until sunset. Some of our favourite memories were simply watching the sun go down from the ocean.
In addition, the rooms were really nice. We got a room with a king bed that also came with two twin beds for our boys. All beds were super comfy and the room was very chic, spacious and clean. The food was also good with plenty of options, and the drinks were great.
We would also like to give a special thank you to Mrs. Sherina, the Front Office Reception Manager. She was incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. She helped make our check-in smooth and whenever we needed assistance during our stay. Her genuine hospitality and attention to guests really stood out and made us feel well looked after.
Overall, wet would recommend Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius to families looking for a resort with beautiful beaches, lots of activities, unique experiences for children, and excellent service. We hope to be back one day.
Almost perfect...
My partner and I (both in our 30's) visited Maritime in Sept/October. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but it really does need some changes to make it perfect..
Pros:-
- The resort and beach are absolutely beautiful, so well maintained
- Rooms are a great size
- Use of the spa for all guests is a huge bonus and it was always quiet
- Staff all around the resort were always so pleasant and would say hello with a smile
- There were always enough loungers by the pool and on the beach. No reserved loungers at a stupid time of the morning!
- Food was mostly good with options for all diet requirements
- Having the option of a number of restaurants was great, our dining credit covered us almost every time
- The sunsets were beautiful from the resort
- The departure lounge was super handy to have on our last day
Cons:-
- The biggest con to the resort is the service. The amount of time it took to get served was unreal. Over the course of 2 weeks we had our orders 'forgotten' over 10 times... On top of that, you'd order drinks to the sun lounger and it could take up to 40 mins (no exaggeration). The service with drinks at La Maree was just as dire, most of the time. Coffee/water service in the buffet was painful often, 1 night our dinner at Anno 1743 took over 2.5 hours, other diners were walking out
- The atmosphere is so quiet. We wanted a quiet relaxing holiday, but there was absolutely nothing going on during the day and the evening was like a graveyard! I've never known a resort where everyone seems to be in bed by 9pm! One night there was a 'Dance Show' advertised, when I queried this with the staff they pointed to the empty dancefloor and said that 'there is music so you can dance'... We weren't bothered about having a fun filled night every evening, but having the option to do or see something would have been nice!
- The beach was pretty rocky and stoney in places making it painful to walk (not their fault, but something to be aware of)
- The gym was swarmed with mosquitos. My partner and I couldn't use it because there were so many of them
- Room cleaning wasn't always good. Our mirror wasn't cleaned for days at a time and the floor was pretty grotty
- Whilst there were quite a few cocktail options on the AI, most were juice based. I feel for the rating of the hotel, there could have been frozen options or fresh fruit options
The hotel really is wonderful, but service has to be sorted out. When you spend so much on a trip to be forgotten constantly and have to wait constantly for food, drinks, service etc, it's extremely disheartening and frustrating.
I'm not usually one to name specific employees, but Siddu was absolutely fantastic and deserves a raise!! Adriano, Lovesh and Veeran were also very good and deserve a mention!
First time in Mauritius
A Memorable Family Reunion at Maritim Resort, Mauritius
Our first visit to Mauritius was from 3–13 October, travelling with my father, while my sister came all the way from New Jersey for a special family reunion.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Special thanks to the General Manager, Deven at the restaurant, Chefs Anil and Manoj for taking such good care of our dietary requirements, Priyank, John and Adriano at the bar, and Christina from housekeeping for her helpfulness. Their warmth and hospitality made our stay memorable.
My only disappointment was being charged for purified water on the very first day despite being on a half-board package. The water was served in an unlabelled glass bottle, leaving us unable to verify its source. This was a shocking experience and unexpected from a resort of this standard.
Overall, we appreciated the wonderful staff, but I hope management addresses this concern to ensure greater transparency for future guests.
