The InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort spans over a breathtaking area on the island, offering magnificent views of the Bay of Balaclava. Situated to the north of Port-Louis, the capital city, the hotel is conveniently positioned within a 15-minute drive of the vibrant shopping, entertainment, and dining hub of Grand Baie. Additionally, it is just a 55-minute journey from Plaisance International Airport.
This resort offers fabulous views of the ocean and 210 elegant, functional, well-furnished and spacious rooms. Guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out services. Facilities include a hotel safe, currency exchange and a cloakroom. There is also a hairdressing salon, restaurants, bars, sports facilities, a games room, and a spa offering various treatments. For the younger guests, there is a children's playground and a kids' club. A special mention to Jaywantee & Suresh, who was at the breakfast buffet this morning and took such wonderful care of us. She was warm, attentive, and made our morning even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious too! 🤍

Great stay
Our stay at the InterContinental was very enjoyable, especially with our 3-year-old. The staff are genuinely wonderful with children, which made the experience even more pleasant for us as a family.
We would especially like to thank the team at the Senso restaurant: Harrish, Moupiya, Ram Gopal, and Rakesh, as well as all the other staff members whose names we unfortunately didn’t get. Everyone was incredibly kind and attentive, particularly toward our child, and we really appreciated it.
A special thank you as well to Pascaline at the front desk for her kindness, help, and warm welcome throughout our stay.
The hotel itself is beautiful and very well maintained. The location is quite isolated from the rest of the island, and there is really nowhere you can walk to from the hotel, so you will need a taxi or a car if you want to explore outside the resort. The hotel beach is also a little small, but it is still very beautiful and enjoyable.
Overall, we had a lovely stay and would especially recommend the hotel to families with young children.
Bars are great
I really enjoyed the time at the bars a lot. The guys behind the bar really enjoy their job and especially Ravindra made some nice evenings possible.
