The Lagoon Attitude is located on the north coast of Mauritius in Anse La Raie, overlooking one of the island’s largest lagoons. The hotel edges a protected coast on the north side of the island and is reserved for adults only, offering a chilled seaside vibe. Lagoon Attitude is resolutely eco-committed.
Guests' looking to relax can bathe by one of the hotel's 3 swimming pools, or enjoy a treatment at the hotels Spa POZ, which offers a great selection of treatments using 100% natural – and locally made – products. For those looking for something a bit livelier, there is evening entertainment up to 5 times a week, and DJ parties including a beach part, or pool party.
There is plenty on offer at the hotel to keep you busy throughout the day including tennis, beach volley, a fitness centre, board games, and yoga for beginners. For those looking to make use out of the crystal blue waters, why not take part in a full day catamaran trip*, PADI diving*, kayaking, snorkelling, or kite surfing (nearby).
There are 182 rooms at the hotel, some with an outdoor Jacuzzi, and traditional Mauritian architecture blends with contemporary beach decor to create a paradise for nature and sea lovers. Each room is complete with free wi-fi, a telephone, electronic safe, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities and air conditioning.
There is a choice of three very different atmospheres, depending on whether you are looking for fun or peaceful holiday moments. The Otentik (authentic) area with its Mauritian restaurants; the lively area with its ocean facing Seabreeze Bar; and a peaceful area hosting an infinity pool and a gastronomic restaurant. Dining here is in tune with nature, so you will find a choice of seasonal and locally grown produce on your plate. If you are on a half board basis or higher, the Dine Around experience allows you to try three out of the five hotel restaurants. The staff, known as Family Members, will go above and beyond to look after every guest throughout their stay here – they are a true reflection of warm Mauritian hospitality.
Lagoon Attitude is Travelife Gold and Made in Moris certified for its continuous efforts towards social and environmental sustainability practices. The hotel lives and breathes Attitude Hotels’ Positive Impact movement. From a ban on single-use plastics in its guest experience to its self-service Bulk Shop, everything has been thought about here when it comes to sustainability. Guests can visit the Marine Discovery Centre to learn about the lagoon and marine life conservation projects, join an eco-workshop or pick up a blue net bag to help collect any litter seen while exploring the snorkelling trail or walking along the coast.

Good For Staying On Resort.
There are pros & cons for Lagoon Attitude Anse La Raie. Firstly the hotel is clean & bright. Staff are always cleaning around the hotel. In the mornings you have staff cleaning the seaweed that gets washed up on to the beach. 95% of the staff are friendly, say hello with a smile. All the staff are happy to help if you need it. The dining areas are always clean and the staff are friendly.
The Pros: Clean, friendly atmosphere. Lovely if you are a couple wanting a peaceful holiday with no children around. The room is cleaned everyday. The grounds are kept immaculate. The location is great for the beach. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool & beach. They also have sunbeds round the waterfront (these ones are not the entrance to the sea, but if you want to just relax & sunbathe these could be ideal for you). The food can be good.
Cons: Food is repetitive & not much choice, even for if you are vegan or gluten free. Most of the time the meat is over cooked. If you want scrambled or boiled eggs for breakfast you request this & have to wait for them to be cooked.
They have a little boutique in the hotel, which is small and sells a few bits of clothing, bags & small souvenirs. The walk to the nearest shop is about 20 mins away (normal walker without any disability to walking). This is a convenience store & coffee shop. The hotel also has little (wouldn’t say shop) room where you resupply your own coffee, sugar, tea & local drink for your mini-bar (this is actually a good thing), the sorry part is that you have a few selection of bits that when you purchase get charged to your room. So always check the price if you want to keep check on your spending.
Other things to note: Room Tax - this is charged at £6 per person per night. We were not aware of this & made aware the night before check-out when we went to settle our bill. (if you already know that's good).
As the hotel is quite remote, going out requires a mini-cab, unless you're up for walking. The Red roofed Church, I have read that it’s about a 20 minute walk, I think a bit longer than this to be honest. Grand Baie has pretty little boutique shops, coffee shops & restaurants. Again this is a car ride away. Port Louis is about an hour away by car. Would advise to keep track if you have a good walk around the streets as you could get a bit lost.
Most of the sightseeing trips leave from the South-South West of the island, so be prepared for about Hour to Hour-Half to reach the pick –up points.
We had pre-booked three trips before arriving in Mauritius. Helicopter waterfall ride, Dolphin watching with BBQ & Car for a day. Unfortunately the Helicopter was cancelled and Dolphin excursion rescheduled for 3 days later. This was due to the weather, which being a tropical island the weather can be unpredictable at times. Unfortunately when we arrived for 4 days there was an anti-cyclone. The car for the day was absolutely fantastic and we stopped off at 5 different beautiful locations.
On the whole Mauritius is a lovely Island, with beautiful sights. We changed to this hotel as our original booking hotel was having refurbishment done by the time we were due to go, meaning we also got it at a cheaper price. I would have been very disappointed if we had paid the full price for this hotel.
Remember everybody's holiday ideas are different and this is our view.
Great place to stay
The hotel was great. Plenty of areas to relax, beach areas and pools. There plenty of choice of food and food was lovely. Service was excellent welcoming and professional. Had a great time here and totally recommend and would come back
Not the relaxing holiday we had planned
Lovely hotel and friendly staff but we were extremely disappointed with the noise levels throughout or stay. There was work being carried out at the side of the pool so from 10am there was drilling and banging. Using the beach or the quiet pool was not a choice for us as my friend has ADHD and Autism. We do have video evidence of this. Please don't expect any sleep if you stay there on a Saturday evening. It was like sleeping on top of one of the speakers at a rave! There is a public beach next to the hotel and the locals were having a party. The noise was unbearable all through the early hours. We phoned reception twice and were told this is something that happens on a weekend as the locals don't work on a sunday. We feel this should be mentioned on their advertising materials.

Henna customer service excellent
Could not praise staff especially Henna within days she had drinks orders sorted as soon as you sat down , a credit to the hotel Amazing service from her and to be honest on her day off you noticed the difference she was a perfect hoist in the main bar area other staff was also helpful and made sure everyone was catered for. Hotel is set in a peaceful lagoon , with different areas so if you wanted to relax you could food was good , rooms a bit dated but you didn’t spend much time there as so much to do and see ,

Amazing hotel and staff
This hotel is amazing! Such good value for the money. The food is so fresh and there is plenty of options from gluten free to vegan. We never went hungry as there was so much variety and restaurants to pick at different times. We loved the idea of the stock up shop to where you only take what you need. We were here on our honeymoon and staff could not do enough for us. From the courtesy call to check your having a good time to staff remembering who you are, we were treated amazingly. The Spa is definitely worth a visit to especially after a long flight. I struggled to remember names but Reena the waitress was particularly amazing and attentive to us and even made a special tea for my husband who had a sore throat. The pool areas are beautiful and there is plenty to do if you don’t wish to relax. We would 100% recommend this hotel to friends and family and can’t understand why the hotel is not 5 stars as it definitely felt like it.
