A Little Piece of Heaven in the Indian Ocean
We returned to this hotel after 25 years and we were not disappointed. The service is first class. From cold towels, to sorbets whilst you sunbathe to having someone clean your glasses - you are made to feel special. Cocos was a new and welcome addition since we were last here but what really makes this hotel is the staff. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A huge thank you to Tony, the Villa Manager, and Sweta, our wonderful butler, for making our stay at Shangri-La Le Touessrok truly unforgettable.
The resort is undeniably magical, and the entire team is exceptional. However, what truly makes the difference is the quality of the human experience. Sweta’s kindness, attentiveness and impeccable professionalism, together with Tony’s warm welcome, dedication and constant commitment to excellence, transformed a beautiful stay into a genuinely memorable experience.
Luxury is not only about an extraordinary setting; it is about the people who bring that setting to life. Tony and Sweta are the true faces and ambassadors of Shangri-La and of Mauritian hospitality. Through their warmth and professionalism, they represent the very best of Mauritius.

Stunning hotel in exquisite setting
Beautiful hotel on a wonderful beach, plenty of water sports as well as padel and tennis. The staff are friendly, attentive and proved excellent service across the board. The food is outstanding- especially the Japanese restaurant Kushi and the Indian restaurant Safran- amazing chef Dev in Safran who has been here for 25 years! Nicole who served us at breakfast and lunch was brilliant- friendly and fun and efficient. An all round fabulous experience and would highly recommend. Clean rooms that are beautifully maintained by lovely room staff. Quiet and tranquil and perfect for a restful holiday or can be action packed as well if desired!

Luxyry at its best !
We had an amazing time at Shangrila. It was five star luxury with 7 star service , experience and culinary delight served with heart . I particularly like to thank chef Dev from the Indian restaurant . A kind man with passion to serve amazing food . Breakfast team are simply amazing. Can't remember everyone's name but Sharon and Diana were very warm and welcoming . Dinesh at Cocco's was very good too . Bobby the sus chef was very attentive and made sure I was looked after . Aishay at front desk, Hrishikesh at concierge and parwez at Bell boy desk were very kind . Whole resort is so well looked after , manicured gardens, beautiful beach and furnishing add to the experience. Gym facilities are fab too. Boat trips to private island and the golf course are icing on the cake. Luxury and class is everywhere but most importantly it was smile of the team which made us welcome. We can't wait to come back. Many thanks for wonderful memories .
Awful, smelly room and surly staff and items gone missing
My husband and I chose this hotel as one of two on the island as part of our honeymoon. We stayed for a week. The other hotel we stayed at was Constance Prince Maurice which was absolutely phenomenal. I will write a separate 5 star review for that hotel.
Anyway regarding our stay at the Shangri-La, having stayed at the London Shangri-La I was hoping for something similar but the rooms and the service is just not at all on the same level.
Some staff are friendly but we met a lot who were surly or downright rude.
We had a huge problem with our room. It smelt of sewers. We ran water down the drains in case it was the shower but it didn’t clear and after one night and feeling like we were going to vomit we asked to move room. Sorting this out and having to repack and then unpack (no help offered) cost us one day of our honeymoon and we received nothing in the way of an apology other than sorry about that! We also received nothing from the hotel to acknowledge it was our honeymoon other than the champagne and breakfast we purchased ourselves at our own great expense.
On moving rooms I left some expensive items inadvertently in the other room but when I tried to retrieve them they had gone missing. The hotel was again unable to help. I also left my curling tongs in the room on leaving and again they just ‘went missing.’
The food was nice but the experience was not. This is not like any other 5 star hotel I have stayed in and I have stayed at a lot, don’t be fooled by the photos, it was more like a 3 star so my advice would be save your money and stay somewhere else.
On check out we expressed our disappointment once again and the lady said someone would contact us so I waited a week before writing this review but we are still waiting for the hotel to contact us.
Also if you read through the reviews you will see there are a lot of reviews talking only about the doctor onsite. The number and similarity of these reviews seems weird and they are all 5 star which may be affecting the overall score.
