Sunny days are the norm in Mauritius, and one of the best ways to spend another day under a clear blue sky is to laze in or by the blue lagoon. It's a wonderful spot – and it really emphasises that special kind of excitement that comes of being on a tropical holiday. The perfect sand and blue sea are hard to resist – and we do recommend the scuba diving if you get the chance. But, this being Mauritius, there's a real variety in the landscape and a few miles from the beach you can go exploring in the beautiful forest reserve.
Rooms are spacious and well-equipped – complete with a range of amenities. Twin/double rooms are air-conditioned with a balcony/terrace overlooking the gardens. All have a flat-screen TV, safe, and tea/coffee-making facilities. You can also upgrade to deluxe sea view rooms.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I had a terrible experience. I booked through Travelocity but since my girlfriend arrived from a different airport my hotel said 1 passenger The hotel did not allow my girlfriend in because of this - Nilesh raj at the reception - the people at the reception were rude, said they were not allowed tonprovide their last names . They wanted me to pay 4000 to allow her to stay. They wanted her to stay
My first impression of Jalsa Beach was unfortunately disappointing, mainly because of the service at reception. There was very little warmth, communication, or hospitality. Staff grooming, posture, manners, and the way guests are welcomed definitely need improvement.
I understand that Jalsa Beach is a 3-star hotel, but being 3-star should never mean 3-star hospitality. A simple smile, “good morning,” or friendly welcome should be basic standards in any hotel.
The same issue was noticeable at the restaurant. Staff seemed more focused on clearing plates quickly than on making guests feel comfortable. There was no greeting when entering the restaurant, and the overall interaction felt cold. The expat staff member was actually the one who consistently greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome.
On the positive side, the hotel itself and the rooms were good for a 3-star property. The place was clean, peaceful, and not noisy, which made it a nice environment to relax. The views were also amazing, and this is definitely one of the highlights of the property. It’s a nice place for families looking to unwind and spend quality time together.
The food was good overall, although there is definitely room for improvement. With some attention to quality and variety, the dining experience could be much better.
Overall, Jalsa Beach has a lot of potential. The cleanliness, peaceful atmosphere, rooms, and beautiful views are definite positives. However, staff attitude, manners, grooming, communication, and overall hospitality need serious attention. Improving the service would make a huge difference to the guest experience.
I hope management takes this feedback constructively. The property itself has good potential, and with better-trained staff and stronger hospitality standards, it could provide a much better overall experience.

We had a nice stay there ,nice views from our room ,staft at the reception was abit rude during our arrival at the hotel no smile as if we bother them ..food were too repetitive at the resto but the staft at the restaurant were so friendly and polite..our rooms were well cleaned..
Was great with our friend had enjoy
Stayed here for 7 nights in July 2026. The place is roughly 60 km from the airport, on the north-east coast of the island.
Experience:
Overall, Mauritius is full of hotels and resorts, and definitely you can find good or better options if you explore. Personally, the place gave us a good experience overall, and I wont mind recommending it to other fellow travellers. However, do look out for other options in the same price range for better decisions.
