If Mauritius is the perfect destination for anyone who loves the sea, then the Laguna Beach Hotel and Spa must surely be one of its finest hotels. Overlooking the ocean – as well as its own luxurious swimming pool – the Laguna Beach Hotel feels as if it is a little island in the midst of all that perfect blue water. Based in an idyllic spot in the south east corner of the island, the Laguna Beach Hotel and Spa is partly bordered by a beautiful sandy beach. Mountains are visible from some aspects, while that gentle sigh of water washing against the shore is ever present.
It looks like paradise: blue sea, majestic mountains, and all that clean sea air. Holidaying at the Laguna Beach Hotel and Spa makes every day feel wonderful. The Laguna Beach Hotel is conveniently well placed too. As well as the fabulous beach to enjoy, you're in a great place to go and explore this part of the island. There are so many incredible views and spectacular scenery to enjoy.
Back at the hotel, all bedrooms feature views that you'll want to take home with you. You can enjoy them even more from your balcony or terrace.
Every room is wonderfully comfortable and really lives up to that four star billing. Each is individually air conditioned and features an en suite bathroom. While additional facilities include satellite TV, telephone, electronic safe and drinks making facilities. You can also choose to upgrade to a larger room – just ask for details.
The Laguna's large pool is certainly a big attraction. You'll feel like you can swim for miles in it. And when you do finally emerge there is lots more to keep you entertained (and in trim) ranging from the gym to the spa.
In keeping with the watery theme, glass-bottomed boat rides are available, at a fee, to help you see a little more of your surroundings. There is even an opportunity for you to try your hand at water polo.
This is an all-inclusive, all-relaxing holiday in the finest surroundings. And it really does sum up so much of what we love about holidaying in Mauritius.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Situated by the sea on a sandy beach on the south east coast of Mauritius. The Laguna Beach Hotel & Spa occupies a quiet setting overlooking the sea with a picturesque backdrop of mountains. The tropical garden leads to the warm inviting waters of the Indian Ocean. Excellent Spa facilities and a wide selection of watersports make this hotel an ideal choice.
It’s been a week since I went there for an overnight stay with my mom and sister. We had a really great time. The staffs were really friendly, food was way too good and the room was super clean and beautiful. Big thanks to everyone in the F&B department, housekeeping and a special thanks to Mr Videsh. Highly recommend this hotel !!!
Firstly this is a small hotel in a quiet area on the east of the island. If youre happy with this before you book then you will have the best holiday. The hotel overlooks the sea and has its own private beach. We never had any problems getting a sun lounger. The hotel provides towels for the pool/beach that you can change every day. There is a small gym and a lovely Spa where we had a great massage. You can do some free activities like kayaking and a glass bottom boat, but then you can also book boat trips and island tours from the hotel that you can pay for. The whole hotel vibe is chilled and relaxed. There is some low key traditional entertainment and the bar closes at 10.30pm. The staff are amazing and all so friendly, especially Theo the singing bar man who is the happiest smiley person I have ever met. Also a shout out to Anisha, Kushal and Arenique who all looked after us. There were other great staff too but we didn't catch their names. The food was great although if I could make a suggestion it would be that you could get snacks like mini pizza, toasties etc other than just pancakes in the late afternoon after having a few drinks. Its worth noting that usually you get unbranded spirits in all inclusive hotels but you could only get rum, all other spirits you had to pay for. Beer, wine, soft drinks and a handful of cocktails were all included. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the rooms were a little tired however as we were leaving the decorators were there and were painting the whole hotel. They have a new acting manager and it appears that everything is being brought upto scratch. It is only 3 star but dont let this put you off, its just because its small. We had an amazing holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return.
We had a good time here, with a little more work it could have been exceptional.
A small hotel located an hours taxi ride from the airport in a quiet area of the island, secluded but this meant there was essentially nowhere to go within easy walking distance from the hotel. There is a small private beach, clearly artificial, which was covered in badly smelling seaweed and debris the first 2/3 days we were there, but mostly cleared up over another 2 days. Keeping the beach cleaner is the first improvement opportunity although I understand the challenge of the tide and presumably storms. Not a real opportunity for swimming.
The views from the well kept gardens and our balcony are great on the whole, a mountain backdrop and small boats bobbing in the Indian Ocean. The gardeners work hard and it was nice to be given a freshly cut coconut to drink the water from. The view of stars at the end of the jetty was awesome, they should make a feature of it, take people down there and turn the intrusive lights off for an even better experience.
The atmosphere is very chilled as it is a small place, plenty of sun beds (would be better with some cushions though…), hard working bar staff (top work Annikeh (sp?) serving over sweet cocktails from a limited all inclusive range, and here’s an opportunity to improve the range and quality. Name badges for the staff would also be good.
The dining room leads to an outside terrace where overly loud music is played at all meals detracting somewhat from the decent food offering. The mat into the restaurant though is in desperate need of replacement giving a shabby impression that could be changed for a few rupees. If you like cake, you are in luck, otherwise desert is limited.
Evening entertainment isn’t our thing and so if proved here, some attempts at local culture , otherwise overly loud as they cranked the music up from the dinner time level. There’s a few tables round the bar otherwise keep your seat at your dinner table, an option that could be improved.
The pool is so clean, not deep and refreshing, shame there. Is no swim up bar option.
Our room was small and kept very clean inside. The aircon was a bit temperamental. A few niggles though, no hot water for 2 days, the door from the balcony did not close properly and was not fixed when reported and the pigeons make a right mess on the balcony, with the installed netting damaged and needing replacing. The view was great though.
The free shuttle boat to Isle aux Cerfs is fun, but the stay too short and the island over rated. We took a taxi to Flacq market and a boat trip.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but not sure we would return.
We went in April/May 2024 quite Boutique Hotel on the Beautiful Island of Mauritius 🇲🇺. Staff and service was excellent and food was tasty and plentiful. Great Location with a small sandy beach ⛱️
Getting in to Laguna reception alone already feels like home, lol I’m not even capping, it was a beautiful experience for my little 5nights. Atmosphere 10/10, kudos to the house keeping for early cleanup, I am really impressed, the humility and receptiveness of every staff 10/10, the serenity of the whole ecosystem is what I couldn’t have asked for more. To the DJ omg, Stephano!!! That man is a real G.o.a.t, can you help me say thank you to him for being my friend and keeping me company with games and songs and the Karaoke, lol… night life without Stephano could have been so boring, i literally had to call him sometimes to know when he’ll be around. Thank you immensely Stef for being a good company to me. Talk about the pool side, the neat cabanas and environment, the experience with the catamaran was a lit! My parasailing, snorkeling and underwater walk, omg… I will definitely come back again… thank you Laguna hotel for making my birthday solo trip worth the time. In short everyone in Mauritius around Laguna are so awesome! 💯Till we meet again. My regards to Jereme and Krish, they serve good cocktails and to the amazing Chefs, so friendly. God bless you all
