- Ambre A Sun Resort

Ambre - a Sun Resort Mauritius is a chic hotel with some fabulous amenities. Sleek, modern décor, irresistible beach location and exceptional spa, swimming pool and restaurants, it's worth every one of its four stars.
There are so many highlights... the incredible 750-metre long white sandy beach is breath-taking. The sheltered bay of warm azure water is beguiling. Then there's the tropical lagoon. And the spa, and so much natural beauty at every turn.
The Ambre Mauritius plays its part too. It's a beautiful looking hotel. You'll see that in lots of ways - the incredible swimming pool and the stylish Coral Bar for example. But you'll see it in smaller ways too: in every perfectly chosen feature and detail in every room.
And talking of the rooms... Rooms are air-conditioned with a balcony or terrace. In-room facilities include flat-screen satellite tv, safe, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, telephone, hairdryer and FREE Wi-Fi. Each room has a welcome surprise from dreamy bathrooms to cocktails kits also a farewell gift of a freshly baked cookie. A selection of room upgrades is available for a supplement.
Equal attention is given to the amenities you'll enjoy throughout the hotel. From the tennis courts to the fitness centre to the spa. And the restaurants are exceptional. Each has its own look and style; each will tempt you with some of the best flavours Mauritian gastronomy has to offer.
This really is a resort where your needs come first. So make the most of your stay; make the most of Mauritius.
The 4-star Ambre, a Sun Resort Mauritius, located on the east coast of the island at Palmar, is a chic, adults-only hotel with an irresistible beachfront location and exceptional spa, swimming pool and restaurants. The hotel boasts an incredible 750-metre long white sandy beach which runs along a sheltered bay, perfect for swimming, whilst divers can explore the diverse sea life in the adjacent tropical lagoon.
A fabulous hotel, with staff who never failed to go out of their way to make life pleasant for us. Too numerous to mention everyone, but Sihan from the small bar, Nicolette and her wonderful colleagues from the dining room and the main bar, Simon, who looked after our room, all went the extra mile. The food was excellent, ever-changing and and was an eclectic mix of different nations cooking. Overseen by the Executive Chef, who wasn't afraid to show his face and be present out front, during the majority of services, the quality was maintained from the start to the finish. You've got to believe they value their beach when a gang turn up to remove 'unsightly' seaweed washed up on the shore - incredible! constant beach service from the staff and no mucking about reserving beds. Plenty to go around everywhere - pool and beach. An awesome holiday, made for us by the brilliant staff. Two very, very slight niggles. 1) Some people seem to think if you make the toasters go faster, you get your toast quicker - DOH! It took an average of 3 goes to get brown toast. Set them up and remove the knobs perhaps? 2) Would have loved to sail but the Laser dinghies on offer were too high spec me, at my age. Only saw them out once in two weeks so perhaps others agreed. Maybe swap for Picos or Hoby Cats?
Fabulous hotel. Very different experience from Caribbean or Mexico. We relaxed from the moment we arrived. We had a lovely ground floor room kept immaculate by Ram. close to The Coral pool bar and the white sandy beach. We saw plenty of fish when swimming. Very shallow . Not able to go out more than waist deep. Always plenty of sun beds, with friendly waiters close by to take your drinks order! Wherever you were in the hotel, no queues at the bars as the amazing cocktails and drinks were served to you. A big shout out to Soobhas, who made our holiday special by looking after us. There is a quiet lounge bar where you could watch sports and an adjoining nightclub. Open some nights. The entertainment was not too bad. The people we met made our holiday.
Our favourite restaurant was the Italian à la carte where you could have filet steak included in AI. La Plage was another alternative to the indigo buffet restaurant.
Free glass bottom boat, kayaks and pedalos.
The views from the hotel are to die for. We loved the ambiance of the hotel. Fabulous staff and Mauritius.
Had a wonderful couples Traditional Mauritian massage with Nalani and Yovinah. Really relaxing for both of us my husband fell asleep! Thoroughly recommend
Overall, this was an absolutely fantastic experience! We have highlighted a few specific bits and that's nit picking.
The hotel is lovely and so so relaxing, we've been to many locations but can honestly say this has been our most relaxing holiday we've been on. The people are absolutely lovely and can't do enough for you with no expectation of gaining from it. The food especially in the al e cart (dolce vita) was exceptional.
The location is lovely with very good facilities. And the excursions are very very good and entertaining also with some of the best experiences we've had! Would highly recommend to enjoy, be thrilled, satisfied and a relaxing stay with it!
Return visitors to this hotel from last year and already planning our next visit. We have been visiting Mauritius for almost 30 years and have stayed at various hotels on every coast from 5 star to 3 star and this hotel stands out very highly for us.
