An exceptional experience from beginning to end.
The entire team demonstrated an extraordinary level of professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality. Every interaction felt sincere, thoughtful, and personal, creating an experience that was both seamless and truly memorable.
A special mention must go to Chef Putu and Vivek, whose remarkable skill, depth of knowledge, and understanding of the guest experience were exceptional. they even added a new dish to the menu at Taste of India for me!! Their passion, attention to detail, and ability to make us feel genuinely valued were outstanding. They are both a tremendous credit to the establishment, and the team should be incredibly proud to have such talented and personable individuals representing them.
We would also like to give special recognition to our villa attendant, Prasath, who was an absolute delight. His discreet and thoughtful manner, genuine kindness, and quiet attention to detail made such a difference to our stay. It was clear that he genuinely wanted to look after us to the very best of his ability, always anticipating our needs without ever being intrusive. His warmth and sincerity were truly appreciated.
We would also like to recognise our butler Alaam, Fajar, Rahul, Ganesh, Fatheem, and Hareesh, from Trio and Taste of India, who all demonstrated exemplary service throughout our stay. Each of them contributed in their own way to making us feel welcomed, valued, and exceptionally well cared for. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail are a wonderful reflection of the standards this establishment strives to achieve.
What truly sets this experience apart is the genuine nature of the hospitality. It never felt rehearsed or simply part of the service — there was a sincere desire from the team to ensure we were happy and enjoying every moment.
This is hospitality at its finest: exceptional standards combined with warmth, sincerity, and a genuine care for the guest. The entire team is a tremendous credit to the establishment and should be immensely proud of the experience they create.
Thank you to everyone who looked after us so wonderfully, there are so many more we have failed to mention but you have left us with beautiful memories and, most importantly, a genuine desire to return. We look forward to coming back.
such comfortable experience being with our butler Hnin
Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, stunning ocean views and wonderful cocktails
The scenery here is absolutely beautiful, and the snorkeling experience was fantastic. The pizza at the Italian restaurant was incredibly delicious, and the staff were warm and responsive. In particular, Mia helped us solve many problems, and her service added a wonderful memory to our trip.
For reference, this isn't my first time in the Maldives, nor is it my first time staying at a non-American brand. This review is based on paying a premium price and expecting a 5-star luxury experience.
Pros: Brand new villas with a great location, amenities, and modern touches. Felt entirely at peace. Awesome snorkeling in the lagoon off the Boli Bridge. Saw so many different fish and some reef sharks. Good pools, good drinks, and good beaches. Dolphin Cruise staff. They were very fun and energetic. They escorted people to different parts of the boat to get the best views and made sure everyone was engaged and could see the dolphins. Some star employees: Narendar at Waters Edge was awesome. He welcomed us each morning and night, knew our drink orders, and was very friendly. Mari was also an excellent housekeeper and a very friendly person.
Cons: Food. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend any of the restaurants. On day 2, I fell very ill with food poisoning after dinner, which required me to go to the doctor for urgent treatment. I could eat again by day 4, but even then, eating at the other restaurants still caused indigestion and stomach discomfort. My wife, who never got sick like I did, felt the same way about the food. We would both sit awake for hours each night after dinner because the food just didn't sit right. The buffet was okay as a backstop, but most of the food was just okay. By the end of the trip, we were hesitant to eat anywhere.
Service. Service felt hit or miss. If we went to Reflections or Waters Edge, the staff would take our orders at our seats. If we went to Fluid, we'd have to order at the bar. The resort also has buggies to shuttle guests around. On occasion, we'd ask if we could have a ride and only receive a silent nod approving our request. It made us feel like we were bothering the driver. On no occasion would a driver offer us, or anyone else we saw, a ride even if we were walking along the road. It just seems like the kind of friendly gesture you'd expect at a resort like this.
Feeling singled out. On three occasions, we received bills from employees asking for our signature: once each at Reflections, the dolphin cruise, and the buffet. On each occasion, we hadn't ordered anything extra that required signing a bill. We were also the only guests to receive these bills. The staff said it was for record-keeping purposes, but the receipts had a tip line, and it seemed like the staff were hoping we'd leave a tip? It was just odd and random since most places never asked us to sign a bill. And when we did, we (the Americans, who are known for tipping culture) were the only ones to ever get one.
Butlers. In past experiences with butlers, they were my main point of contact, escort, and assistant throughout my stay. I'd text my butler, and they'd pick me up or meet me. Here, it felt more like a chatbot that would occasionally answer a WhatsApp message. For example, our butler met us and took us to our villa but never gave us a tour of the resort, explained the layout and amenities, or really anything else. When I asked a question about the pillow menu, I was instructed to call the front desk, even though the pillow menu PDF says you can contact your butler. Each morning, there is also a scavenger hunt clue that the butler is supposed to text you; I think I received the clue on 4 of my 8 days. It really just didn't feel like a service that's needed?
General vibe/ambiance. The resort just lacked some of the small touches that could make a space feel more welcoming. For example, the 24/7 bar has a huge screen that could play music videos, island footage, or something interesting. Instead, it plays the same commercial for the property 24/7. The resort also generally lacks background music. Reflections doesn't play any music, so going there for a pre-dinner or after-dinner drink is very quiet. It just makes some of the common areas feel less lively than you'd expect from a luxury resort.
Overall, I see potential and wanted to like my experience, but the consistent letdowns made it an average place.
