NH Maldives Kuda Rah Resort

My 2-night stay at NH Maldives Kuda Rah Resort was nothing short of magical. Upon arrival via speedboat from another resort, I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a superior beach villa – beautifully designed in Italian style with a spacious, square layout. The overall cool white palette, accented with Tiffany blue on the headboard and sofa, felt elegant and refreshing – and absolutely camera‑ready! The villa offered total privacy with direct beach access. The private pool and the hanging swing bed outside were equally photogenic – every shot looked like a postcard. Waking up to sunrise over the Indian Ocean and spotting baby sharks cruising by at dusk was pure bliss.

But what truly set this resort apart was the heartfelt service – and every single staff member on the island was incredibly warm and friendly, which made me feel so at home even as a solo traveller.

A massive shoutout to my butler, EL – she was absolutely fantastic! She added me on WhatsApp right after check-in and checked in on me daily. Although I didn't book any activities through her, she was always quick to answer my questions. Her responses were lightning‑fast, yet she never made me feel rushed. Professional, warm, and incredibly efficient – EL is a true asset to the resort.

Special thanks to Front Office Manager Ikoo, who went above and beyond for my birthday. He arranged a birthday cake and in-room decorations, complimentary sea fishing and other water sports, 50% off spa treatments, free-flow soft drinks during meals, a late checkout until 3pm, and even a complimentary lunch on my departure day. Add to that the room upgrade upon arrival – these thoughtful gestures turned a great vacation into an unforgettable celebration.

Dining was top‑notch – breakfast at Sea Spray had plenty of variety, with made‑to‑order eggs and local Maldivian dishes. Dinner options ranged from Italian to authentic local cuisine, all fresh and beautifully presented. A special shout‑out to the F&B team – every single staff member was warm and attentive, making each meal a pleasure.

The spa was another highlight. Thanks to Ikoo's 50% discount offer, I enjoyed two fantastic massage sessions – one Blissful Package and one Indian Head massage. Both were absolutely wonderful: the setting was peaceful and private, the therapists were highly skilled with perfect pressure, and there was zero hard‑selling – just pure relaxation. I left feeling completely recharged. Highly recommended!

Also, a big thank you to the staff member who took photos for me (apologies, I forgot his name!) – super humorous and knew all the best angles – I got some amazing shots! 📸

The housekeeping team deserves praise too. Twice‑daily cleaning kept my villa spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable.

Final verdict: If you're looking for a resort that combines luxury, genuine personalised service, and stunning photo spots everywhere, Kuda Rah is the place. EL, Ikoo, and the entire team – thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'll be back!

The food was so amazing, there was always so much choice and we loved the special food nights which were on the beach. Lastly, our room was so lovely and we did not want to leave.

We stayed in a overwater villa with pool for 9 nights recently at it was absolutely incredible. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly and there are too many to name all of them, but our host Surindu, Nishan who gave us a yoga and meditation class and Dinda and Ibbe who were our most regular staff in the restaurant deserve a special shoutout.

The room was regular cleaned and it was wonderful coming back to a room that was like it was when we checked in every evening. The excursions were all brilliant, but in particular sunset fishing, turtle snorkelling and the sunset at the sandbank (not only did we see the best sunset of the trip on this excursion, but we got back to our villa in time to watch the moon rise over the ocean, a combination I don't think I have ever seen in my almost 40 years on the planet.

Everything was easily arranged, from having a member of staff meet us at the airport in Male and guiding us to the seaplane, to the same happening on the way home.

There was a wonderful atmosphere throughout the accomodation with nice lighting in the restaurants in the evening. We were on the all inclusive package and I was slightly nervous that the main restaurant would be the same menu everyday. Not only was there a different menu every day of the week, but it changed for lunch and dinner and there were 5-10 options for starters, soups, main courses and desserts. We didn't have a single bad meal and, as you would expect, the seafood was incredibly fresh.

This was a holiday for our 40th birthdays which happen later this year, so we spent more than we usually do on an annual holiday, but the value for what we paid was so much that I think it would have still been good value if it had cost us double what we paid.
