This property lies just 200 metres away from the public beach in Aydin. The hotel is located just 20 km away from the mesmerising ancient Greek city of Ephesus. The hotel lies just 25 km away from the House of the Virgin Mark. The hotel is conveniently situated just a 1 hour's driving distance from Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. The hotel enjoys a sophisticated architectural design. The elegantly-appointed guest rooms combine traditional and contemporary elements.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel is not what is seen in the glossy adverts. The grounds are dry and brown. The food is almost always tepid because it is put out one hour before meal times with no way to keep it warm. We like cats but if you do not there is a cat population walking around the hotel and begging for food at meal times. The rooms are dark and if allocated a room at the back very little natural light will get into the rooms because of overgrown trees and vegetation covering your balcony that overlooks private apartments. There is a night club two doors away from the hotel that plays very loud music from midnight to approximately 3am which penetrates the whole hotel Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Also a hotel up on the other side that has loud entertainment on until midnight through the week on sporadic nights. To get a quiet nights sleep is a blessing when it happens. The staff are friendly and Elaine the Tui rep is excellent. Be warned the glossy pictures are not what is reality. We were told the hotel will close for a year this year for refurbishment which it needs badly.
Hotel is ok, its clean and tidy. I thought a great location but, 1 bar 20 metres away plays live music extremely loud until early hours of 3 am even though im assured that this should not happen as music that causes a disturbance should stop at midnight, this is not a town centre hotel where I would have expected noise !! Hence the low score Rooms are a little dark with no aircon in the bedroom. Only ate breakfast which was ok, already planned on eating out in the evening. Drinks are expensive Pool is nice with plenty of sunbeds We managed 2 nights and had to leave due to no sleep.its a pity as the hotel is ok
We were fortunate to book this hotel at a great bargain price on a special deal which is why I rate it a 4 as great value for money at that price.
STAFF Staff weren't overly warm, smiley and friendly, however they were quick to sort out any issues once brought to their attention be it housekeeping related or items depleted in the restaurant requiring top-up
ROOM Our room was very dark - had to have lights on no matter time of day. The reason for this is all the shrubbery in front of the balcony / windows. Not all rooms have this issue however, as our friends did not have as much shrubs so received plenty daylight. The balcony wasn't pleasant at all - paid extra for pool view but as photos show there really wasn't a view! The cats also took over our balcony.
We appreciated having a fridge in the room as well as a kettle. Freebies in bathroom were a little hit and miss - 6 boxes of cotton buds could be left or you might get shower caps or something else. As the boxes are identical you do need to read or open to tell.
The bathroom door didn't close and the shower door leaked. They really need to keep on top of maintenance. It wasn't a huge issue for us so didn't make it one.
There is a huge lack of electrical outlets!! With phones, kindle and tablets we needed charging ports, be they USB or electrical sockets. We had to unplug lamps in order to be able to use sockets.
The room also desperately needs a full length mirror!!
The space the suites give was great.
RESTAURANT The food was lovely! Everything I ate was tasty and enjoyable but..... lukewarm. There is a microwave available if anyone wants to warm things up, but not ideal. We really wished there were more hot breakfast options, the menu was extremily limited despite offering eggs cooked 5 ways each day! There's also a large salad section for breakfast, but that really isn't my idea of breakfast.
The non-smoking section of the restaurant is in a dark area which really needs a little more lighting. To be honest in this day and age the entire restaurant should be non-smoking. There's nothing worse than trying to eat and having smoke blowing over you, which is what would happen.
CATS Yes there are cats! Loads of them. I am not an animal lover so was a little wary. However, unlike peoples pets in the UK, these cats were amazingly well behaved! Not one tried to jump on me, I never saw any go in the food area of the restaurant, nor jump on the table to eat my dinner. They do sit respectfully by your table pleading for food which can be annoying.
Paloma was very conveniently located near to shops, restaurants and the beach. We loved that! The room with a patio overlooked the pool and came equipped with a television, coffee and tea supplies as well as a small fridge. Our room was cleaned and towels replenished daily. The bed was comfortable although we would have preferred a double instead of two single beds put together. The pool area was clean and well kept but the water was rather cold and could do with a bit of warmth. Half board was part of our price and the options at breakfast were mostly eggs (boiled, fried, scrambled), cold cuts, cheese, fruits, bread, pastries, while dinner offered more varied & tasty options such as fish, beef, chicken, vegetarian, salads, pasta, potatoes and more as well as many choices for dessert. Although the dining area was clean, there were lots of cats around, which we did not particularly like although we must admit they were mostly well behaved. Smoking was allowed and although we sat in the no smoking area, the smoke was strong and stifling at times. Despite that, our stay was nice and relaxing overall.
I wasn't impressed tbh the food was ok. The beds where comfortable. The location was quite good.
So many cats wandering around the hotel especially in the dining area, very understaffed especially in house keeping.. forever having to get our room keys charged, never been hoovered for weeks, old beds, glasses and cups outside bedrooms. Hence tbe reason I have given a 3. Wifi signal ... well there wasn't one.
