This hotel consists of 99 rooms in 7 blocks and features a large, spacious garden and pool area, over-looking the Babadag Mountain. Within a couple of minutes' walk from public transport, the complex is located in Ovacik, a small district just 2.5 km from the hilltop resort of Hisaronu and a 10-minute bus ride from the beautiful lagoon and beach at Olu Deniz. Some small shops, café bars and restaurants can be found within a 10-minute walk from the hotel, while a wider range of shops and lively bars are available in Hisaronu.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Lovely hotel! Our second time at this hotel & will definitely be returning.. Can’t go wrong - lovely food (plenty of choice), great entertainment & bar staff, housekeeping are amazing & Dining area always kept immaculate!
Everything about the hotel was great, apart from the food.
POSITIVES Hotel is lovely, rooms a bit out of date but your only sleeping in them ;-) They are comfortable, clean and the cleaners do an amazing job, cleaned every day with a fresh bottle of water left in your room which I think is a nice touch and a towels display of some sort or another.
The entertainment team Gadget & Gizmo (crazy men) are amazing they work their butts off from morning right through to night time with different entertainment throughout the week from acrobat shows, singers, to a music quiz and even managed to have a couple of games of bingo! The bar staff are brilliant each and everyone of them always greeted you with a massive smile and were quick to serve you, remembering your face & drink. :-)
We went on the cable car to the top of Babadağ Mountain which was a fantastic trip which we planned on our own, the views from the top are amazing, TIP: if you want to do the paragliding you can book it at the top, bit cheaper than some of the people on Ölüdeniz beach strip. Worth looking into? The restaurant at the top was good value for money and brilliant food.
NEGATIVES The worst food I have eaten at an All Inclusive resort now were not fussy eaters but we ended up eating out 4 nights out of the 7 we stayed, we were usually some of the 1st people in the restaurant at meal times and the food was always cold, luckily we found the microwave (presume for babies food) and ended up heating our food every evening, the chips were under cooked and soggy, the other food was bland and repetitive. Even the Turkish visitors didn't eat much. We were told this was due to a new chef! (sorry but if this is how the foods is cooked then you need to revert back to the old chef with immediate effect)!
The snack bar late afternoon was good with various choices to choose from and cooked to order so was hot and fresh!
Our in-laws have been coming here for 5 year+ and recommended the hotel to us would love to re-visit next year but the chef needs to go or I need to budget more money so I can eat out every night.
Final full day almost over .. As the sun begins to set on our final full day, I thought I'd share a few thoughts about my daughter and my stay here for anyone due to arrive.
Rooms – Everything you need, clean, tidy and comfortable. The housekeeping team provides a reliable daily service, ensuring your room is always fresh and welcoming.
Food – I'd read and heard mixed reviews this week, but personally I've had no issues at all. There's plenty of choice and always something to fill your plate. From the freshly made omelettes at breakfast, served by the chef with a friendly fist bump, to the cheeseburgers at snack time, the mouthwatering kebabs and even the incredible Sunday beef dinner. Then there are the desserts – fresh baklava, deliciously moist wet cake, and so many other tempting options. You certainly won't go hungry!
Staff – I've stayed in several hotels across Turkey, but I've never come across a team quite like this one. Every member of staff wears a genuine smile and is always happy to help. They'll run, shout across the pool or hurry over if they think there's something they can do to make your holiday even more enjoyable. Their dedication really stands out.
Entertainment – The lads, Gadget & Gizmo, are an absolute credit to the resort. They never pressure anyone to join in, but they're always there if you want to get involved, whether you're asking about the dolmuş, looking for somewhere to watch the football, or joining in the activities. This week I've won a music quiz, sung karaoke, taken part in water aerobics, belly danced to the wild applause of strangers who have since become friends, and even played killer darts. There's always something going on, but equally there's plenty of peace and quiet if relaxing is more your thing.
I suppose the real measure of any review comes down to one simple question:
Would I happily spend my hard-earned money to come back to Yel Holiday Resort?
The answer is a resounding 100% yes.
My daughter and I have had an amazing week together after her GCSEs. We've made memories, met wonderful people who we now consider friends, and felt relaxed, welcome and comfortable throughout our stay.
So, thank you, Yel Holiday Resort. You did a fantastic job, and who knows... maybe next time we'll bring the other half of the family too!
Location is perfect out of all the nightlife but able to travel to see it all. The atmosphere at the hotel is lovely all caring and very thoughtful. Never to much to ask it they can they go above and beyond. Food is ok its what you would expect from a holiday in turkey. Always something to eat never go hungry. Have returned for last 3 years and will be back next year.
Second time at the resort as stayed last year. Room: Had a room in "attic" the room was fine, tiny balcony and no wear to dry your clothes from the pool, but was fine. Email the hotel to Request a twin room as travelling with my son, but was given a double so had to move that around a bit.
Food: Well! This is what really let the holiday down. The food was not great at all. Never known anywhere that used so much Turkey in there cooking! Bland cold and very limited choice. People pushing in front of you, putting so much food on their plate when there wasn't much left, especially the deserts. Then leaving half of it not even eaten. There was some very rude people when it came to evening meal.
Entertainment team: Hadn't changed from last year, normal day time activities. Not overly impressed with the evening Entertainment. And half the time couldn't get a table.
Good location to go to the town and to the beach. Had to be up early to a sunbed if you wanted edge of pool.
In honest opinion the food did really let the hotel down this year, and not sure I would return for a third time.
