This family-friendly, beach hotel is a true representation of the best in the traditional Turkish hospitality. Located just a few minutes' walk from the beautiful Blue Lagoon beach and surrounded by views of the stunning Toros mountain range it is the perfect place for an unforgettable vacation. The charming town of Ölüdeniz with its coquet streets, small restaurants and open air bars is just a 10-minute drive away and is more than worth the visit. For those who just want to relax and work on that healthy tan the hotel offers an attractive free-form, swimming pool with a spacious sun terraces and sunbeds around it. There one can spend the whole day with a great book and a refreshing cocktail from the poolside snack bar. When the time for dinning comes the onsite restaurant, with its extensive wine list and wide selection of international and local dishes, is definitely worth a look.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We’ve just returned from a week at Akdeniz Beach Hotel, and overall we had a really enjoyable holiday, although there were definitely some areas that could be improved.
When we first arrived, we had an issue with our room, but I have to give a huge thank you to Tammy from Guest Relations. She was absolutely brilliant, listened to our concerns and made sure everything was resolved the following day, including getting us moved into an upgraded room. She really is a credit to the hotel, and honestly, the place wouldn’t be the same without her. ❤️
Another member of staff who really stood out to us was Kerem, the barman. He was always smiling, friendly and welcoming, and nothing seemed too much trouble. He was an exceptional member of staff and definitely deserves recognition. 🍹😊
Unfortunately, we did feel that one other member of staff let the hotel down. We found him quite miserable and didn’t particularly like the way he spoke to some of the younger staff. Obviously, we don’t speak Turkish, so we couldn’t understand what was being said, but you could clearly see the attitude, raised voice and body language. I did mention this to a gentleman on reception, only to be told, “That’s his personality.” Personally, I don’t think that’s an acceptable response, particularly when it involves the way staff members are being spoken to.
As for the food, we found it okay, but there definitely could be more variety. The snacks in particular became quite repetitive — usually onion rings, chips, salad and a cheese pastry-type snack. I found myself often just having onion rings. 😂 The kebab night was definitely the best dinner of the week! We did choose to eat out for dinner and breakfast on a few occasions simply because we knew we could get something we really enjoyed.
That said, for the price we paid for the holiday, you can’t complain too much. I do think the food menu could benefit from some improvement and a bit more variety, but there were still options available.
The evening entertainment was actually really good. The singers were great, and because we had met some lovely people during the week, we ended up spending our evenings dancing, laughing and having a really good time. 🎶💃🏻🍹
And I think that's probably what made the biggest difference to our holiday — the people we met. We made friends with some brilliant people and formed our own little group, which made the pool days and evenings so much more enjoyable. Without them, I honestly don’t think the experience would have been quite the same. ❤️
Overall, we had a good holiday and made some great memories. There are definitely things Akdeniz Beach Hotel could improve, particularly when it comes to the food variety and certain aspects of staff attitude, but there are also some fantastic members of staff who really do make a difference — Tammy and Kerem being two of them! ❤️☀️🍹
Had a lovely holiday here . Staff all helpful friendly and so hard working nothing too much trouble. Everywhere kept clean all of the time. Good selection of food always nice selection of salads. Would definitely come here again great location and dont have to fight for sunbeds
Lovely small quiet hotel , great location only 5 min walk to beach and the busy strip. Staff really lovely and helpful at all times . Good atmosphere in day time and singer on a few times a week in evenings Rooms are clean , comfortable . Great value for money . Only downside was the food was repetitive but you can get this in higher star rating hotels . Could do with few more sun loungers . We would highly recommend and we would happily come back to stay .
Fantastic location, 5 mins from the beach. Amazing relaxing atmosphere around the pool area and very quiet at night. Room overlooked the pool area, cleaned daily and had great facilities with friendly staff. Good value for money, food was good, great bar staff. Tammy who works as the hotel guide was amazing, so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, funny and easy to find to speak to and ask for advice with activities outside of the hotel. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.
Nice little hotel with a good vibe! Staff are lovely.
Rooms need updating, we were moved from a room they initially put us in as 3 adults which meant we had to step over each other to get into beds etc…but moved to a triple room which was adequate. First room also had broken safe, fridge, shower and electrical sockets hanging off. Second room much nicer. I had contacted guest relations and hotel prior to our stay to request a room to accommodate 3 adults, but got no reply!
Pool area kept clean and tidy, and no fighting for sunbeds at silly o’clock, which was an absolute blessing!
Location is great, close to strip, restaurants, shops and beaches.
Drinks- no cocktails but have slushies and quality soft drinks. Plenty for a chilled week.
Now the negative of the hotel is the food! I didn’t have high expectations but even with a realistic approach to things the food here is well below par. I’m vegetarian and used to limited options, usually relying on bread, cheese and salads but honestly struggled to find something to eat at most meal times…teenage kids only had the kebabs (served two times in a week) and chips. They had pasta some nights, usually our saviour if struggling but it just didn’t taste right at all! The salads are uncovered and of course therefore covered in flies etc. butter was usually mouldy and milk gone off. overall was just exceptionally limited. I did raise with hotel and was told it’s Turkish cuisine, I would disagree, been to Turkey plenty of times and wouldn’t say it resembled local cuisine at all. Also told they serve vegetarian dishes on the same night, which isn’t particular helpful for the other 6…and we didn’t actually find this happened anyway….such a shame as a few small tweaks and the food could be improved to an acceptable level.
