Yade Luxe Hotel

Only positive thing to say about this hotel was the location . On arrival before we were actually checked in and allocated our room we were informed of the Turkish night and that if we wanted to go we should book it straight away as tickets were selling out fast and any delay could result in us missing out. We felt we were put under pressure to book this. MORE ABOUT THE TURKISH NIGHT LATER. On day one we went down for breakfast, this was the worst breakfast buffet I have ever experienced, instant jar of coffee with one teaspoon for every one to use, out of date butter portions and hard bread. Did not go for breakfast for the rest of the holiday. Day two THE TURKISH NIGHT well well what can I say? Firstly there was a very poor turnout ( after being told it was selling out fast) we were told to be there for 7.30 food wasn't served until 8.45 the hotels way of making you buy more drinks. Advertised as a BBQ not the case I opted for some chicken wings which I was unable to eat as they were not cooked properly and were still pink inside. As for the entertainment this was very disappointing a belly dancer who was standing at the bar smoking then dancing for around 10 minutes. When I complained to the staff about the entertainment and the food he became very aggressive towards me. As this was only the second day of our holiday this member of staff made me and my family very uneasy about spending time at the hotel and we spent the rest of our holiday at the hotel across the road using their pool and restaurant for the remaining days of our holiday. I have never been to a hotel where staff can be allowed to intimidate holiday makers. I also witnessed another holiday maker being treated aggressively with the same member of staff and this was a female who was on her own.

Please read this for an honest and fair review of the Yade Luxe from my experience.

Yade Luxe is centrally located within Icmeler. An easy walk to the beach and close to many restaurants, bars and shops. The rooms are a little small but adequate and kept clean with towels changed daily.

The pool area is quite small but accommodates the number of guests who use it. The loungers are past their best and could do with replacing as they're a bit worn and shabby looking,

The restaurant in the hotel isn't bad. I had the half board option and thought the evening meal selection was good. Enjoyed most of the evening meals I had. The breakfasts weren't great. I'm not a fussy eater so the hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, beans, cocktail sausages was fine for me but wouldn't suit everyone. The butter portions had gone bad and tasted unpleasant and the tea/coffee making facility could have been better. It was a coffee jar with the spoon left in!

The hotel lift is in dire need of a deep clean. Inside of the elevator is clean, but the glass elevator housing is encased in bird droppings which is unpleasant to look at.

The staff in the hotel were nice enough apart from one person. I was verbally abused by one member of staff whilst taking a photograph one morning at breakfast. He made an issue of my motives (| presume he thought I was photographing for social media or something?). He accused me of berating the hotel when I took a picture of a breakfast table covered in ants. It was an unpleasant scene with a lot of shouting. I was sitting alone so it was quite an intimidating experience as a single female, in a foreign country, being shouted at. None of the other staff who were around asked what was happening or if I was ok, so I presume this is the norm. No other staff members approached me to see if I was ok or what was the matter for the rest of my stay, although they were all aware of the incident.

Don't do the Turkish night is the biggest tip I could give. It was vey poorly organised. We were sitting around most of the night wondering when it would start. The same member of staff who shouted at me was snide and abusive to another family at the hotel who had health issues and couldn't wait any longer for the entertainment to start (we had waited 2+ hours after dinner). It just felt like a waste of money.

If you want cheap, clean it's ok. It’s fine as a base to explore other places around Icmeler because of its central location.

Overall by my standards, the hotel itself should be rated 2 star at most. Could do better. Would have given higher, maybe 3 but let down by the abusive staff member. Can't blame the whole hotel and give a bad review because of one person though.

I honestly hope the management realises the potential they have to do better. The Turkish people are well-known for their hospitality and good humour. This place could be so much better but was really let down by one member of staff which is a shame.

I would never return to this place or recommend this place to anyone.
