This was our third stay at Mersoy Bellavista, and once again we had a wonderful and relaxing holiday. Our room was comfortable, well-maintained, and nicely decorated. The pool-view room offered lovely views of both the pool and the beautiful green mountains, creating a peaceful atmosphere throughout our stay.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, which made our holiday even more enjoyable. The food was enjoyable, with a good selection available each day.
We have always enjoyed our stays at Mersoy, and this visit was no exception. We are already looking forward to returning in September.
Thank you to the entire Mersoy team for another memorable holiday.
My sister and I arrived at the hotel at around 4:30am on Monday 20th June. Check-in was quick, and the member of staff told us to take a photo of a board showing the breakfast, lunch and dinner times.
Unfortunately, the problems started straight away. When we entered our room, it smelled strongly of cheesy feet and the bed had clearly already been slept in. The staff member looked confused and said he needed to change our room. He took the room key and left us standing in complete darkness for around 5–7 minutes before returning and taking us to another room.
Once we got there, he carried our suitcases inside and told us to keep the patio door closed otherwise the air conditioning wouldn't work. After he left, I tried to get the air conditioning working with the remote but couldn't. We were exhausted after travelling, so we gave up and went straight to bed.
On our first day, we decided to spend some time by the pool and get familiar with the hotel. When we walked out to the pool area, I actually turned to my sister and said, "Are we in the wrong hotel?" The pool was completely different from the one advertised on the booking site which was a P@n1s shape. It was a square pool with children's slides, despite the hotel being sold as adults only.
We walked around and eventually discovered there was another building with the P@n1s pool that had actually been advertised online. We also realised this was where the restaurant was located and where we had to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
After doing some research, I found out that guests who book standard rooms stay in the building with the square pool, while guests who book suites stay in the building with the advertised P@n1s pool and restaurant. This was never made clear during the booking process. The room we were given also looked nothing like the photos online.
For the first couple of nights, the air conditioning wasn't a huge issue because we were out most evenings and just wanted to sleep when we got back. However, as the temperatures increased, the room became unbearable. Keeping the patio door open wasn't really an option either because we where getting bitten constantly.
On Wednesday, I asked a member of staff for help. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a language barrier. He came to the room, opened the door using a newly registered key card and then immediately said goodbye. I had to stop him and explain that the problem was the air conditioning. He looked at the patio door for a while and then told me he would send a technician.
No technician ever arrived.
By Thursday night, I went back to reception. I was told the technician wasn't available. I explained that I had been without air conditioning all week and asked if I could at least have a fan. I was simply told, "We don't do that." No alternative solution was offered.
The drinks selection was very poor, both alcoholic and soft drinks. Water was served in small coffee cups, and if you wanted ice, you had to ask for it. Even then, you were only given a couple of cubes.
The dining area also left a lot to be desired. The tables and placemats often looked like they hadn't been cleaned properly.
A few positives:
The advertised pool was lovely and always a nice temperature.
The food was decent enough, although I'm not a particularly fussy eater.
The beds were comfortable.
The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided.
Overall, this hotel fell well below the standard of a 4-star property. In my opinion, it is closer to a 2-star experience. I’ve stayed in several 2-star hotels in Turkey over the years and received far better service, better food and drink options, cleaner facilities and friendlier, more helpful staff than i experienced here.
Between the misleading advertising, the room issues, the lack of air conditioning and the poor customer service, I would not return and would not recommend it to others.
We had a wonderful stay at Mersoy Bellavista during our holiday in Marmaris. The hotel's location is excellent, with easy walking access to both the beach and the town center. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made us feel very comfortable. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the housekeeping service was great. The food was delicious with a good variety of options, and the pool area was relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, it offered excellent value for money. I would happily recommend Mersoy Bellavista to anyone looking for a pleasant and peaceful holiday. Thank you for a great experience!
I was very disappointed with our stay at this hotel in Icmeler.
When we arrived, we were initially placed in a completely different hotel from the one we had booked. The alternative hotel was basic, dated, and had dirty bed linen, which was not an acceptable start to our holiday.
After being moved to the hotel we had originally booked, things did not improve much. The room was dirty, the bathroom had a strong urine smell, and the décor throughout the room was dated, worn, and in need of repair. There were several areas with broken or damaged fixtures that made the accommodation feel neglected.
The food was acceptable, but there was very little variety from day to day, which became repetitive during our stay. The pool bar was also noticeably dirty and did not appear to be cleaned regularly.
The all-inclusive drinks selection was extremely limited. The only alcoholic drinks consistently offered were vodka, gin, and beer, which was disappointing compared to what was advertised.
Perhaps the biggest issue was that the hotel’s promotional photos do not accurately reflect the reality of the property. The images make the hotel appear much more modern and well-maintained than it actually is.
The 1 star is for the pool which was the only slightly decent part of the hotel but still needs some maintenance.
Only here 5 days and met some great people also staying here (with all the same complaints) which made the holiday.
Overall, this hotel did not meet our expectations, and I would not return or recommend it based on our experience.
