St Nicholas Park Hotel

Perfect holiday again,it was our 5th time .staff are very helpful and friendly.the food is amazing ,lots of choice for everyone ,even children.the quality of the food is excellent,all cakes and bread are baked on the premises.the bar manager is a super guy,will do anything for you,as is the baker,he will make you fresh bread while you wait,and its worth waiting for.ailisha is excellent on the bar,always remembers what you like to drink,even down to having lemon and ice.the pancake lady makes delicous crispy pancakes,and there is entertainment most nights.maid serive is daily.well worth a stay.

Location The location can’t be faulted - it’s beautiful and peaceful. The scenery is stunning and just a 10min walk to the strip.

Atmosphere Very laid back. A lot of repeat visitors. Felt very comfortable throughout our stay.

Rooms Very small (518), in need of renovation / redecoration and some sort of soundproofing. You can hear everything going on around you; conversations, arguments, cats fighting, flip flops! If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs. The wardrobe doors also squeaked!

Value Good value for money for the time we came (6-17 Oct) so missed the half term price hike.

Cleanliness Good standard around the hotel grounds. The cleaning of the room was more just making the beds / replacing towels. No real cleaning took place. And just note that if you put the DND sign up, housekeeping doesn’t necessarily take any notice of it.

Amenities Nice big main pool with enough sun loungers although people still putting towels down at some ungodly hour. There was another pool with a slide that we didn’t spend any time at but again, had plenty of sunbeds available.

Food Plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch & dinner so I’m sure there’s something to suit every palette. As per previous reviews, the food could be hotter.

Lastly, there are wild boars in the forest surrounding the hotel. We saw them on 3 occasions when walking to the strip. Quite scary so we asked reception if we should be concerned and were told they were harmless. But just to pre warn as I’ve not seen this info on any other review.

Do not book from the photos - taken a long time ago !! The whole resort is in need of a serious renovation. So, where do I start ! Location was lovely, spectacular views looking down into Oludeniz, short 10 min walk down hill into Hisaronu and for 250lira get a taxi back up the hill to the hotel. Taxi 's are like being in an episode of Wacky Races !! Room - very poor indeed !! Very poorly decorated and only 1 light in the whole of the bathroom which was over the sink. The shower had no water pressure and was either boiling hot or freezing cold. However our bed was comfortable and the aircon worked well and 1 English speaking channel on the TV - Not that you go to watch TV on Holiday but we had some bad weather so spent a few hours in the room. If you want the use of the Safe it will cost you for the privilege - ours was £33 for 11 nights ! Food - although it was good it was never really hot unless you got it straight from being cooked. Always plenty of choice and well presented but also repetitive. The restaurant area is fully open to the elements with no option to be closed off when it was rainy or windy and also flooded at the entrance when it rained as did the reception area. Drinks - all local with EFES draught on tap and local spirits. Soft drinks not always tasting as they should and not always fizzy but they didn't really care and said they were ok. Resort - location was lovely, very quiet, picturesque with amazing views of Babadag mountain and overlooking the bay of Oludeniz. Very hilly on site and lots of steps to navigate to get to all the areas ie restaurants, bar/seating area which was certainly very tired with ripped seating and most cushion bases having no support. One part of the bar had glass missing from the top panes so when it rained all the seating got wet with water running down the wall ! The staff did there best but it was a loosing battle for them. Snack bar was very hit and miss henced we only used it once ! Ice-cream only available from 3-5pm. Swimming pools - absolutely freezing and only heated by the sun but plenty of sunbeds to be had however leave your towels on for longer than 1 hr and they would be removed by the staff. Pool areas were ok but very slippery once wet so extra care had to be taken and also had lots of shaded areas to get a rest from the sun. No pool area service so its get your own drinks when needed. In from the reception area is a seating area which is all very tired and in need of replacing and also skylights which leak a lot of water when it rains ! A room to leave your luggage on day of check out which is 12pm but if you want to keep your room on until 6pm it would have cost us £70. A swop box to leave things if you dont want them and a small area of reading books to use. Spa - we used the spa for a Hammam which was incredible with the sauna first then the Turkish bath and massage which was just the job at the start of the holiday, it will cost you £40 each but well worth the money. A small hairdressers which did nails etc with various prices - always popular with the ladies. Our Jet2 rep came everyday except Mondays and was very helpful. Money - always take Stirling and get a little changed at a time just for taxi's and tips if you wish to tip. All of the shops like Stirling and we found that the bars/restaurants had prices in Lira. However when you got the bill its always in Euros/Stirling/Lira so you had the choice of payment. Card payment is also available everywhere. Overall we had a lovely holiday as we met some amazing people who have now become friends and it was a relaxing holiday - would we go back to this resort ? No, unless it had a serious renovation of all areas of the resort. Which is a shame as it could be an amazing resort that would be perfect to visit over and over again.
