We are on our last day of being here for 1 week.Overall it has been fantastic and the location is superb. The staff have been terrific and nothing was too much for them. There was a couple of things that I wish could be addressed and that was the breakfast and the garden area.Just a couple of little tweaks to both like, fresh juice, fresh fruit, sliced bread for toast, more cereal and fresh omelettes. And in the garden area a freshen up is needed because this would be a great selling point and money well spent for the hotel.
Good atmosphere. Lovely staff. Quiet location about 15min walk from the action. Well appointed rooms.
We had a lovely holiday in August. Great location only a short stroll to town. The rooms were spotless. The pool area lovely with no problem gettig a sunbed. Breakfast was nice but what really makes this hotel is the lovely friendly staff who were all so welcoming. Will definetly be back
Just back from a wonderfully relaxing time at the Portakal hotel. What a gem, amazing staff complimenting a wonderful facility in a great location. The room was modern, spotlessly clean and only a few paces away from a great pool area and bar.Again maintained to perfection.A spacious garden is well maintained if you like a little quiet time in the shade watching the boats travelling up and down the river. The breakfast is beautiful and if you’re not taking a leisurely stroll to the nearby shops and restaurants lunch is available and caters for all tastes at a great value for money. We have stayed in the bigger hotels in other areas of Turkey in the past, usually 5 star and all inclusive. This time we tried something different,we tried a family run hotel with the personal touch and were blown away.We based our booking on the reviews here and were definitely not disappointed. We’ll be back and doing it all again.
We have just returned from a week's stay at the Portakal and cannot agree more with the reviews on here. We arrived late and Ram kept the bar open for a much appreciated arrival drink or two! He, along with other staff, made us feel very welcome during our stay, pouring many a well made cocktail and being the ultimate pool hustler! Rooms are spacious and clean with a decent sized bathroom. We paid a little extra for a terrace, which was a great bonus for additional outdoor space. We even had a few resident cats share the terrace with us. Location was great. Not on top of the town, but a short easy walk to bars and restaurants (we enjoyed The Lemon Tree and Luz as local restaurants - Luz had the best shrimp tacos and spicy margaritas). We were right next to the river, making it easy to cross on the car ferry (as pedestrians) and walk to the Kaunos ruins. River boat trips can pick you up here too - just ask at reception to help you book. Breakfast was included in our stay and there was enough choice for us. A micture of hot food, cereal, bread, yoghurt, fruit and cakes. The pool was lovely. It didn't ever feel 'busy' and we could always get a lounger. I would definitely recommend a stay here. A real home from home feel.
