Altinersan Hotel

Never having been to Turkey we did not know what to expect. We booked this hotel because it had good Trip Advisor reviews and was priced well. Including jet2 flights and transfers we paid just over £1k for ten nights here. I emailed the hotel before we arrived asking for extra pillows etc. immediate reply too saying all will be sorted. When we got here it wasn’t. As I write 8 days later we still await the extra pillows. But… having said all that this hotel is fine. The rooms are basic and room cleaning is a bit hitty missy but overall we are happy with it. Aircon Safe and Fridge cost us £10 a night but with temperatures everyday in the mid 30’s it was essential. Breakfast 8-10 during our first week was ok. Eggs, lovely bread to toast, butter, preserves and coffee. Sometimes there was nothing left when we got down a bit late but the helpful staff magically produced everything we wanted. Our second weekend coincided with Turkish school holidays. Breakfast became chaos. Hardly a table to be had.
Same with the pool. No problem first week but omg schools out. Screeching local children in the pool constantly whining. Noise level beyond safe decibels.
All in all we would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, friendly staff and its position just off the front. But avoid July and August. Supermarket across the road. Buddy’s bar just down from the hotel was great for the occasional full English and Nescafé coffee. Highly recommended. Also the Big Nose Bar a bit further on.

The Altinersan is clean and the staff are unobtrusive. Turkish Breakfast is in with the price. The rooms are not big but are adequate. Strangely for Turkey, the shower is quite large and hot water seems plentiful! We didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were out most days but were largely happy with what we got.

Negative points: the covers on the beds were harsh and no sheet; we had a kettle but no cups or tea spoons. Hand soap was provided and very small bottles of shower gel which we did not use.

The location was good and convenient for the sea front with a small supermarket stocking most things you would need almost opposite. There was a small fridge without an ice compartment. The balcony had an airer (could have done with a clean) and table chairs. Air conditioning for two weeks cost £140. WiFi was free - but we found would disconnect quite often on the balcony.

Altinersan is a fantastic hotel. Staff can’t do enough for you Breakfast is good Turkish but boiled eggs and menu is very well priced. Rooms cleaned every day Going back in August for another 2 weeks well worth the price
