Prive Hotel Bodrum

We travelled to the Agaya at the start of the season on the 6th May. Having only recently opened on the 1st May the hotel was still reasonably busy but not at full occupancy. We arrived in reception at 10pm and were warmly greeted with a drink and some Turkish cakes and taken to our room. We were advised that the midnight buffet would be open shortly so we were taken to our room in the meantime. It’s hard to fully judge a room when you arrive in the dark but it seemed ok and at that point we couldn’t fully see what our view was and what we were overlooking. It wasn’t a full balcony, more of a long window which opened slightly. After being woken early to noise we realised we were right above the car park and our view was of a large tree which obscured any view. After speaking to Reception we were able to move to another room with a side sea view which was much better. Rooms are slightly dated and could do with an update but are functional. If you’re able to request a sea view I would highly recommend this. The house keeping staff are great and looked after us well. On our first morning when we went into the main hotel area we were blown away by the views over Bodrum Bay, they are truly breathtaking and this I would say is one of the hotel’s USP. We haven’t stayed in some amazing hotels in Asia and Europe but have never had such stunning views! Our stay just got better and better once we got into the swing of things. The decking area by the sea was just lovely, we were always able to get a sunbed on the front row and were waited on but the excellent Baris and Ahmet who both work so hard to make sure all guests are well looked after bringing drinks and nuts to your sunbeds. They both just seem to appear when your drink is finished asking if you’d like another one and the cocktails were really good, all made with branded spirits. The green apple martinis and mango margaritas went down very well! There is a lovely pool area as well which we didn’t use as we simply loved to overlook the clear and calm sea watching the yachts and boats go by. You can eat your lunch in the main restaurant or the snack bar which we used each day as it was lovely and relaxing with amazing staff looking after you. You scanned the QR codes for the menus and the grilled meats, salads, burgers, pizzas and Turkish pizzas were so tasty. Food in the main restaurant at night was of good quality but the choice wasn’t that extensive however plenty of lamb was available which was great! The dishes weren’t always piping hot but we always enjoyed it nevertheless. Again the staff in there were very attentive, especially Ibrahim who was always so friendly. Breakfast was probably our least favourite although there was the usual choice of fruit, cereal, yogurts, eggs, hot dishes, pastries and an egg making/omelette station. What sets this hotel apart from many others we have stayed at are the amazing staff who go about their work in such an efficient and charming way. Nothing is too much trouble and they work very hard to make sure their guests are well looked after. They are a real credit to the hotel and it’s no surprise that many of them have worked there for many years, in particular Baris who has been there over 20! 🤩 We also spoke to many of the hotel guests who were repeat visitors, some returning for their 7th/8th visit. It’s no wonder given how wonderful this hotel was. If you’re after a bling bling large Turkish hotel then this isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for a small, boutique style, intimate stay with amazing staff then this is the place for you. Its location is perfect - you can catch the water taxi across to Bodrum or walk it in 20 minutes. The transfer from the airport takes about 40 minutes. We are already looking at booking for next year! Thank you Agaya for making our first stay in Turkey so memorable!

Such a lovely hotel! We really enjoyed our stay! Great location with the water taxi just outside the hotel making it very easy to get to Bodrum centre. Food was lovely and the drinks were fabulous also! The young gentleman who was serving drinks at the beach bar during the day was amazing and so attentive ( Don’t think we got up once to get a drink!) The evening entertainment was fun. Was plenty of sunbeds so no need to get up early to get one. Recommend the spa and the relax massage, left feeling very relaxed! Such a wonderful chill vibe and all round great stay, would most definitely recommend and return to Agaya! (Definitely upgrade to sea view the views are insane!)
