Overall we made the most of the holiday but wouldn't go back to Turkey. The hotel was nice, drinks were lovely including the staff who served them. But the general feeling is that the people in the area want money off you, all of the time. Taxi drivers, and especially the man who shows you to your room and has your key! You arent given your key at reception like usual, instead you dont get a choice and he takes you, then waits there for his tip! The excursions we did were the same, always saying 'tip box'. Our family had a seperate transfer to the hotel than us, and their driver stopped at one point and forced a 'rest'. During this time, they were harassed by locals selling ice cream! They said no to start with and then reluctantly agreed, and were charged a fortune. The other people staying in the hotel were rude, there is no queueing at the buffet, they will push in front of you, take the grabbers out of your hand! They will try piling in the lift before you've even got out. The turkish bath is a very painful experience I wouldnt repeat but the staff were nice. The hotel food and drinks were good, except for on Saturday when there was little choice, I'm guessing they are clearing everything ready for new people arriving on Sunday. The excursions werent the best, we feel we were misled on what they entailed so beware and ask lots of questions before you decide to go ahead! We werent the only ones who felt this way. We were taken to a jewellers on one trip that was supposed to be a boat trip to the market. It turned out to be a coach trip to multiple places with pushy staff, and a little boat ride at the end of the day. It was lovely by the pool in the hotel. Nice icecreams too. Evening entertainment was good but limited seats so you need to be quick. Dinner wasnt until 7pm which we thought was very late. We went jet skiing and were told it was 20 minutes, when we got there he said it was 15, when i challenged this he said he told me it was 15 unless we signed up for something, which wasnt true. To conclude the hotel was nice and we made the most of the holiday, perhaps it was just the culture that wasnt for us. If you like Turkey, I would say its a nice hotel.
