Sunprime Dogan Side Beach

I stayed here while I was going through ADHD medication titration, and the staff were absolutely wonderful to me.

I had originally booked a single room, and the day before I travelled I emailed the hotel to explain that I was having problems with sleep because of my medication. I asked whether, if possible, they could put me somewhere reasonably quiet in the hotel. When I arrived, they had upgraded me to a beautiful double room overlooking the pool, which was perfect.

On the second night of my holiday, I slept for eight hours for the first time in nearly two months.

The room also made a huge practical difference. I kept forgetting things and needing to go back, but because the room was right there, it was easy. I could also see the pool loungers from the balcony before breakfast, work out which one looked good, then walk out with my towel and go straight over.

I know I was hard work while I was there. My medication was not right, and when I got back and had my review, the nurse said, “Oh my God, you’re manic — we need to change this medication straight away.” These people had never met me before, and they were kind, patient and genuinely lovely. I did not feel like I was being tolerated by people I was paying to serve me. I felt seen, heard, understood and cared for.

Rita was fantastic. There was also another lovely lady from the Scandinavian team, with glasses, whose name I sadly cannot remember. The pool bar staff were fantastic too.

Erhan was especially kind when I was struggling to find protein shakes that were compatible with my medication, because I could not take vitamin C with it. He tried to help me find whey protein, phoned friends who went to gyms, and said that if he could get some whey protein, he would make the shakes for me using his blender. He did not manage to get it, but the fact that he tried meant a lot.

The other guests were lovely to me as well.

Compared with the experience I had at the Sayonara the last time I came to Side, this was completely different. If I had been in that hotel while I was in the state I was in this time, I would have had a completely different holiday. The care people showed me here made all the difference.

I meant to send flowers afterwards. I even had a local florist open and had chosen an orchid, but because of my ADHD I never completed it. So this review is also my overdue thank you.

I hope to be able to come back in October when it is cooler, and I hope to come back many times after that. They were wonderful to me, and I am very grateful.

PS: I am sorry it took me so long to write this review. They have literally only just got me onto a decent medication regime, and we are still not quite there.

Quite a basic hotel well located on the sea front 10 minutes walk from old town. Nice pool and pool bar and a decent restaurant, prices are mid range for the area and the food is ok. Included breakfast is reasonable with a good selection to choose from, staff are very helpful, room are quite small but functional, would definitely go again.

My partner and I have just returned from a week here. Side in itself is beautiful and this hotel is located perfectly. We made use of the free sunbeds on the beach which had the most amazing sunsets. Old town is a short walk away (approx 10 mins) however there are plenty of restaurants and shops in the immediate vacinity. The pool was located in the sun throughout the whole day and when we were there in June there were plenty of sunbeds for everybody. The breakfast buffet was vast with different options daily. The pool bar offered great service and reasonably priced snacks/light meals. We didn't have an evening meal at the hotel so unable to comment on this. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The male receptionist who worked primarily nights was very friendly and welcoming. Excellent free WiFi as well as free air con and free safe usage. The room itself was an ideal size for my partner and I with views over the garden. We arrived in the early hours of the morning at around 3am and when we got to our room we were concerned as there was a funny smell and didn't appear very clean however every day after that the room was cleaned well. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend for those wanting a quiet relaxed holiday.
