Sunlight Garden Hotel

First of all i want to say thank you to the hotel for giving us some great memories and for a lovely holiday - its good value for money! On arrival (at night) it was disappointing due to what appeared as rundown and small. Reception area the same. Given water and filled roll each, nice little touch.

Room: basic and slightly dated. But a big space with a separate bedroom for children and good size balcony. Only issues were the curtains could do with replacing for better fitting and blackout.

Pools: there are 3 pools. One quiet, one with music and a slide one also have two children's pools next to larger ones. Slides open 10:30-12 and 2:30-4pm. No life guards around pools one sits at the top of the slides. Smoking was an issue and there was mo escaping it around the pool. Sunbeds are very close to each other. We always found a couple of sunbeds, but can imagine problems when very busy as they allow towels to remain overnight and even for days reversing beds - easy fix and the hotel need to look at this too.

Food: you can't escape it gets repetitive, as do many AI but in general we enjoyed the food, especially Sundays roast beef and lamb.
Breakfast pancakes we a huge hit with the family. There was only one day the breakfast wasnt cooked well, but think due to a change of staff. The food is 3 meals a day, no snack bar in-between they do provide some cakes one day and icecream between 1-3:30pm. This worked for us and we were never hungry. Drinks from bars AI from 10 am -11am. Cocktails extra 8euros for one and 35euros for a watermelon filled one. Which does look pretty spectacular.

Entertainment: The daytime entertainment is basic - darts, aquagym and occasional water polo. Every Wednesday they have a pool foam party for about an hour - kids loved this but be careful if you're not a strong swimmer as there is a lot of foam. Nighttime - they really do try hard here and the shows that come in are definitely worth watching. We paticularly enjoyed the second Turkish night. They have a programme that is repeated every week so for us we saw some things twice. There is a candyfloss/popcorn stand at night its 3 euros each, candyfloss is big! Again and issue with smoking at night, especially as you are stuck under a roofed area so it can irritating - again and easy fix. There is a weekly market that comes into the hotel in the evening and thats a nice little touch.

Children: there are two small shallow pools next to the larger ones. There is a small park with slides,swings and seesaw and rockers - mine were happy with this. There is a payable games area, around 1 euro for two tokens, but we didn't really use this. Kids club, the programme sounded good but isn't stuck to and not much going on. Unless you make it very clear to the staff, children are allowed to leave when they choose, so just be aware of this. Minidisco every night, normal basic songs.

Spa: we had the full Turkish massage package and also the children's package too. It was good value for money and they dont rush it, nice to relax and chill for a bit. Children loved theirs too.

Location: there are shops just out the gates and a pharmacy and hospital nearby too. We used pharmacy for each ache and they were great - sold us antibiotics. Free shuttle bus to the beach 3 times a day, but also walkable. Hotel has a designated area at the beach with free sunbeds. You buy drinks and food to be delivered to your sunbeds.

Staff: were friendly enough, only a couple really stood out to us as nice, one being the barman on the main bar who my girls loved. Helpful when I fell on a step they were quick to get medics out and check I was ok.

Excursions: Green mosque was a short walk and nice to visit, just dress respectfully. Side saturday market, nice market and worth a visit but just know how to haggle say no. Side old town, we went day and at night. A lovely plave to visit with lots history, with glass flooring over the ruins that lights up at night. Quiet in the day and much busier at night. Marina is beautiful at sunset so dont miss this. Side museum was nice and worth a visit we bought a joint ticket and visit the archeology site too. Green canyon trip and the Troy show are recommended trips too.

Taxis are a set rate so 10 euros to old town from hotel. Couldn't work out the buses so can't comment.

Something to.note is everything is priced in euros not lira and when transferring to lira the price can go uo so know the exchange rate.
Also the shop onsite is expensive so better going out the gate.

Overall we had a great holiday and would recommend this hotel as it was worth the momey we paid.

Salih is the best person in while place, cery handsome and funny guy, I personally recommend him as best entertainer in while Turkey 💪
