Great staff, lovely hotel, kids club staff really nice and kind (Yasenya) & ( Mehtap) lovely girls with so much time for the kids and us, clean, nice food and close to everything couldn’t ask for me for what we paid for it x

Perfect match, service, quality and price!
It was a marvelous experience for all the family! The staff was wonderful, the service, the food everything was perfect. The check in and check out were made easy by the staff, very helpful. The room was clean and cleaned every day. The guest relation was perfect. I would like to thank personally Feyza, she was a wonderful person ! I would highly recommend the entire experience!
Worst “5-star” hotel we’ve ever stayed in - not for the british people!!!
We stayed at Side Royal Palace early June and honestly, “5-star” is misleading. The reality felt closer to a tired 3-star at best.
The problems:
- Dark + dingy everywhere - Corridors, lobby, and outside seating areas were all poorly lit. Bedrooms had dark furniture + low lighting which made rooms feel dingy. No decent lighting for makeup. Bathroom had no shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, tissues, bathrobes or slippers. Even 4-star hotels provide these basic 5-star amenities as standard.
- Food issues - Food was very repetitive and not suited to British tastes/kids. No pool snack bar for pizzas/burgers on site. On day 4 we were told we’d have to walk 10 mins to the beach bar for that type of food. Kids were really unhappy about this.
- Maintenance & smell - On “fiesta day” the rooms and corridors smelled of sewage. Not acceptable.
- Facilities - No shisha area. For a hotel in Turkey that felt bizarre.
- Staff + service - Reception were unfriendly and couldn’t be bothered to give tourist info. Very few staff spoke good English, so even simple questions were hard to get answered due to the language barrier.
- Lighting - All lighting around the hotel was dim, including outside areas at night. Felt unsafe after dark.
The only positives:* Evening shows were decent, and it’s a 5 min walk to a long strip of shops/restaurants.
Verdict:* it looks huge modeen and bright in the photos but is far from reality. It's small and there's not much to do!!! Waste of money. Would I return? Never. It was the worst hotel experience we’ve had. Trust me, there are much better hotels in Side. If you want an enjoyable holiday with proper 5-star facilities, avoid Side Royal Palace.
