Kirman Calyptus Hotel

We recently returned from an 8-night stay at Calyptus Carmen Premium Plus, and unfortunately, it fell well short of the premium 5-star experience we paid for. While the building and grounds themselves look nice, the service and food quality were extremely lackluster—especially considering the hotel was only at about 50% capacity during our stay. Here are the main reasons why we cannot recommend this hotel: Unequal Service & Language Barrier: There was a clear bias in guest attention. Staff consistently catered to Dutch and German guests—providing them with proactive table service for drinks—while completely ignoring our table. We always had to flag someone down, and when we did, staff seemed annoyed. English proficiency among the staff was very poor, making basic communication difficult. Even the drink server on roller skates around the pool area bypassed us entirely every day to serve European guests instead. Bland & Repetitive Food: While there was a wide variety at the main buffet, everything tasted very bland and repetitive. Lunch was particularly disappointing for a high-end resort, mostly consisting of fast-food staples like burgers, chicken nuggets, and onion rings day after day. Inconsistent Drinks: Outside of the lobby bar—where the staff and drinks were actually wonderful—the bar service across the rest of the resort was very hit-and-miss. Cramped Pool Area: The sun loungers on the pool decking were packed so tightly together that you were virtually sitting on top of other guests. You could hear every conversation, had to share small tables, and found it difficult to even move around the pool area. Unresponsive Management: I raised a few of these operational issues with management during our stay, but nothing was ever addressed or resolved. We have previously stayed at hotels in the Eftalia range, which delivered significantly better 5-star service and overall value than this property. Calyptus Carmen Premium Plus needs major improvements in staff training, menu quality, and equal guest service to justify its premium price tag. English-speaking guests, in particular, should look elsewhere.

For us, it’s good but not all. Food is delicious, but some staffs are unprofessional, must speak English atleast but some of them cannot understand what are you talking about, we say yes yes when you ask a favor but in general they don’t understand what you asked for. Lack of comprehension.
