Best place for holidays with your family
We stayed here last week and although the hotel itself is nice and clean, meal times were horrendous! Absolute chaos! We were the only English family - everyone else was Turkish, Russian or German - staff don’t speak English and TUI should not be marketing this hotel in England! Guests took no notice of ques or no smoking areas - we couldn’t get the waiters to bring drinks like they were doing for all other tables, there’s no where near enough waiters to cater for the amount of people meaning tables weren’t cleared so there was nowhere to sit - really spoilt our holiday and I wouldn’t recommend or return Also mealtimes are very restricted - breakfast finishes at 9am and evening meal also finishes at 9pm
We stayed at Kaya Side for seven nights in a Superior Room and, unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.
There are some positives. The rooms are spacious, the pools are good, the beach location is excellent, and the food quality itself was generally decent. However, these positives were overshadowed by a number of ongoing issues throughout our stay.
The room was advertised as having air conditioning, but it was largely ineffective and felt more like a fan than an actual air-conditioning system. It circulated air but did very little to cool the room, making sleeping uncomfortable most nights.
Housekeeping was consistently poor. Throughout the holiday we repeatedly had to ask for fresh towels, toilet roll and hand soap. On several occasions we were left without basic supplies until we specifically requested them. This wasn’t just our room either – other rooms in our party experienced the same issues. For a hotel advertised at this level, guests should not have to repeatedly chase staff for essentials.
The main buffet restaurant was chaotic every day. At busy times there were queues extending outside the service area, and there appeared to be no system whatsoever for helping guests find tables. Larger families were left wandering around searching for somewhere to sit while smaller groups occupied tables intended for much larger parties.
The hotel itself feels tired and in need of refurbishment. While generally clean, it does not feel like a four or five star property.
The biggest disappointment was the service. It was difficult not to notice that Turkish guests appeared to receive a much higher level of attention than international guests. We regularly saw drinks being brought to tables and staff proactively engaging with local guests, while we were rarely approached throughout our stay.
Communication was another major issue. Many staff spoke very limited English, and most entertainment, announcements and guest information were not available in English either. This made it difficult to get information and often left us feeling disconnected from what was happening around the hotel.
To make matters worse, we paid €110 for a late checkout until 9pm. Despite this additional charge, no fresh towels were provided, the room was not serviced, and there was no additional attention from housekeeping. It felt as though we had simply paid €110 to keep access to the room and nothing more.
Our group consisted of nine people, spread across three rooms, and the disappointment was shared by everyone. We still managed to enjoy time together as a family, but that was because of the company rather than the quality of the hotel experience.
Based on our experience, this hotel falls well short of the standard we would expect from a property marketed at this level. We would not return and would not recommend it to other British travellers.
Just returned from a lovely week at this hotel . First off it’s not 5 star as it’s advertised , it’s max 4 star . Generally good everywhere , nice rooms , pools. Bars etc . Food was excellent everyday apart from the bbq alacarte , it’s just the buffet food served on the beach . And the beach is rather scruffy with old sun loungers and always full , people down there at break of light . Animation team , waiters , waitresses all wonderful and very polite . Not many English but plenty of rude Russians who just barge in the queue. Overall very pleasant stay would definitely return .
It isn't a hotel of 5 stars. They demand extra money for everything, for italian night, for cleanning, for a good room. Pick other hotel, this onr is a trap
