Unfortunately, in our experience, the hotel is not close to delivering the standard expected from a five-star hotel in Turkey. Although the building itself is visually attractive and the rooms are spacious, the overall quality of the service, cleanliness and guest management was extremely disappointing.
The pool area was frequently dirty. There appeared to be no clear or properly enforced rules regarding the reservation of sunbeds, resulting in guests leaving towels on them for long periods without actually using them. There were also not enough sunbeds or umbrellas for the number of guests accommodated by the hotel.
The beach was small, poorly maintained and dirty. The walkway leading to the beach was also unpleasant, with visible dirt, a strong smell of garbage and areas that did not appear particularly safe or well maintained. This is not acceptable for a hotel presented and sold as a five-star resort.
The rooms were reasonably large and the hotel structure itself was attractive. However, the housekeeping service needs considerable improvement. The cleaning staff should understand and respect the messages displayed on the room doors, particularly the “Do Not Disturb” and room-cleaning requests.
Another major issue was communication. English-speaking staff were practically nonexistent. It was extremely difficult to communicate even basic requests, and the overall level of English among the personnel was surprisingly poor for a hotel that receives international guests. A five-star international hotel should ensure that enough employees in every essential department can communicate adequately in English.
The lack of designated non-smoking areas was also unacceptable. Guests were smoking continuously around the pool, close to the beach and in other shared areas. A very large proportion of the hotel’s guests were families with children, yet there appeared to be little consideration for protecting children and non-smoking guests from constant cigarette smoke.
There should be clearly designated and properly enforced non-smoking areas around the pool, on the beach and in other common areas. Allowing unrestricted smoking in places heavily used by children represents poor management and significantly reduces the quality of the experience for families.
Overall, the hotel has an attractive structure and considerable potential, but this is undermined by inadequate cleanliness, insufficient facilities, poor staff communication, weak enforcement of basic rules and a lack of consideration for non-smoking guests and children.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend your hotel to friends, family or other travellers.

Great family hotel, but avoid peak season.
Our stay started on a very positive note. Check-in was quick and smooth, and when we arrived around 3:00 PM our room was already ready. While checking in, we were welcomed with juice and Turkish delight, and the staff also helped us with our luggage, which made for a great first impression.
The room was spacious and comfortably accommodated our family of five. The size was OK for us, although having only one bathroom was sometimes a little inconvenient. The biggest downside was the bed. The double bed was quite hard, which unfortunately affected the quality of our sleep during the stay.
Housekeeping was somewhat inconsistent. Sometimes we placed the "Please clean the room" sign on the door, but no one came. On other days, housekeeping entered even though we had not requested it. The quality of the cleaning also varied from day to day. Sometimes they only made the beds, while on other days they also mopped the floor. It wasn't a major issue for us, but more consistency would certainly improve the experience.
One thing that became frustrating during busy hours was the queues at the restaurants and bars. It was quite common to see some guests bypass the line instead of waiting their turn. Unfortunately, the staff rarely stepped in to manage the queues or direct guests to the end of the line, which felt unfair to those who had been waiting patiently. I would have appreciated if the staff had paid closer attention and ensured that everyone was served in the order they joined the line. That would have created a fairer and more pleasant experience for all guests.
One of the hotel's biggest strengths is its wide selection of restaurants and bars. There is always somewhere to eat or have a drink, and one restaurant is even open 24/7. Until midnight, you can spend time with your family in different bars depending on whether you want a cocktail, coffee, tea, soft drinks, or dessert. There is also a disco for those looking for evening entertainment. Overall, it's very difficult to get bored at this hotel.
The food was good and offered plenty of variety. Every day there were new dishes to try, although some favorites reappeared throughout the week. The main restaurant is large with plenty of seating, but if you arrive between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM for dinner, you may end up sitting quite far from the buffet due to the number of guests.
The pool area is large, and the water park was excellent, especially for families with children. However, if you are traveling as a group and want to sit together, it's important to reserve your sunbeds early in the morning, as they fill up quickly.
Although the hotel grounds are relatively compact, there is still plenty to do. However, you should not expect a large resort where you can take long walks around the property. Once you leave your room by elevator or stairs, you are immediately at the pools, restaurants, and bars.
The staff deserve recognition for their hard work. Most of them genuinely tried their best to provide good service despite how busy the hotel was. I was especially impressed by those from Indonesia. They were always smiling, friendly, and eager to help, and in my opinion they contributed significantly to the overall service experience.
Would I return? Possibly, but definitely not during peak season, especially not in July. The hotel simply felt overcrowded. There was hardly anywhere to relax in peace, and it often seemed that the number of guests exceeded what the hotel could comfortably handle in terms of staffing and overall service. I believe the experience would be much better during a quieter time of the year.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable holiday, and the hotel has many strengths. The food is varied and tasty, the selection of restaurants and bars is excellent, the water park is fantastic, and the staff work incredibly hard to make guests feel welcome. On the other hand, there are areas that could be improved, particularly housekeeping consistency, bed comfort, queue management during busy hours, and the overcrowding during peak season.
I would especially recommend this hotel to families with children or anyone looking for an active, lively resort with plenty of entertainment throughout the day and evening. However, if you are looking for peace, quiet, and a more relaxing atmosphere, I would strongly recommend visiting outside the peak summer months.
Perfect Family holiday
Location was great for the Ruins amd the unbelievable sunset, plenty of shops around, the atmosphere in the hotel was lively but had quiet spots of you didn't want to get involved, the rooms were cleaned every day with fresh bedding and towels, the entertainment was great and always tried to get people involved but we're also respectful if you'd rather not. I would recommend for a family holiday.
Great Family Hotel with Water Park
This is our second time visiting Crystal Sunset hotel. We last visited 2 years ago. This is a great hotel for families. There’s a variety of activities from the pool, water parks and kids club. The guests and food is predominantly Turkish but we really enjoy that and the variety. So many al a carats restaurants to choose from which keep our boys happy.
