TripAdvisor Review
Very cheap hotel

We knew we booked a cheaper holiday but wasn't prepared for how cheap. On arrive the reception was full of ppl asleep on chairs and even in the garden by the pool people were napping on Loungers which were covered in towels We were given a room and told we had to depart that room by 12 o clock that day. and they would give us another room, we checked with reception four times to change rooms and then told them we were going to sit on loungers later they had a go because they were searching for us. the lounger area is not that big. Fixed sunshade No parasols which we found hard as my son wanted shade so often ended up in room. The pool there's two but don't be thinking that means plenty of choice, One pool has slides which aren't always on and sometimes one is and the others aren't. and is small often filled with children( not a bad thing) the slightly bigger pool is freezing and gets packed to the point you can't swim with out people crashing into you, and when people jump in you get splashed, unless it's lunchtime and it's then it's almost empty.

Food almost daily the same i read that breakfast is the best meal, not sure i would agree, there is fruit, cured meat, cheese, bread, boiled eggs, veg, porridge, pancakes and sauces, the lunch meal is almost the same as dinner time, with odd variety, i ain't that fussy but i struggled, Snacks are desserts from lunch pancakes or fruit, not always cooked the best.

All inclusive drink start at 10:30 and end at 10:30 at night, Efes beer red wine vodka or gin 3 cheap cocktails but only available when the bar man wants to make them, ( def not doing meal times) No where to sit in the evenings if you want to drink and chat unless you go to the indoor entertainment there no outside seating available the only terrace i saw was locked off always 1 bar no outside bar,

Rooms are ok they are spacious, mattresses were lumpy both me and my daughter ( separate rooms spent the days in pain) my air con was either on or off i couldn't get it to work, also i couldn't relax on balcony as the air con filter/fan was always making a racket or the generator was it sounded like we were on a building site, hot water was either cold or very hot too . fridge was more of a freezer- my daughters drinks exploded due to freezing. no plugs in any sinks Cleaners looked after the rooms beautifully and made lovely towel designs on the bed, we made some back and their designs got better.

There is free bus to the beach, which you are not allowed to take food and drink too ( No where in hotel says this so we bought drink etc they did let us take it in ) we bought drink whilst there it's on a tab basis and the same order ( two ppl paying) came to different prices, also when i accidentally counted my lira out i gave them too much the younger lad went to give it back but the manger took it and put it in his pocket and said to me our first tip.....

The onsite shop is rubbish it's help yourself and take to reception to pay, not much choice, there is a shop less than five minutes where the guy who's lovely helped us a lot

Alex I am led to believe he either owns or manages this hotel, We were told by other guest to ask him to order a taxi to somewhere called Jakobs, we did at first he made out he didn't know what we meant till the guest that told us happen to arrive beside me, he then organised a taxi, but it didn't take us to Jakobs it took us to a place called turkey primark,?? Which it turns out they have a thing with the boss man there called James.

The red lion give you 20% off the bill and if you do a magic trick my daughter got an extra 10% 😂. The Side old town is beautiful and worth a visit. be prepared for the usual Turkish selling style. I think if you want to use this place as a base, and don't mind going out it could be perfect the area it's self is great as plenty of shops etc

Ok if on a very tight budget

We arrived very late at night due to delays at the airport and we're told we had been upgraded to an apartment instead of a standard room but warned they would need it back and we would need to move, we just asked for our normal room if that was the case as we were only there for 5 nights, didn't want to unpack our things and have to move but told it would be ok. Given a hand up the stairs with our luggage but found it quite concerning that the lights didn't turn on in the stairs until you'd already gotten up to the first landing (it was very dark) all the while passing cups, plates etc on the landings but thought they would be cleaned overnight/during the housekeeping service. Didn't realise that there was a mosque directly opposite our hotel room (we had a front facing room) so was woken up every morning at 5.15am as the speakers are incredibly loud so prepare to be woken up if you're at the front of the hotel - this can still be heard down at the pool but not as loud as they do play loud music over the speakers (same playlist day in day out) Breakfast was very busy and people were queuing so we went and found a sun lounger and waited until later when we could get a table, the staff watched us and heard us say there are no tables but didn't mention there was an upstairs area with tables and where the entertainment was (we only found this out after another review on here mentioned this so thank you) the food was a bit meh (quite limited options) but the pancakes were very good. The fruit juices in the machines (in a separate room which seems like a wasted area - seemed like this is where the buffet used to be) are very sugary and like syrup, the cups are thin plastic and you can't put any pressure on them without them crumbling. Lunch and dinner were a slight improvement but very inconsistent with the labelling of foods so had no idea what many of the dishes were. One day was lentil soup (unreal) but there were no spoons and no staff on the floor so asked the bar where I could get a spoon and was shooed away by the older gentleman like they do the cats but managed to find another member of staff who finally understood what I was asking for. The sponge desserts are very stale and the other ones had a weird texture (still non the wiser what they actually were), if you don't like watermelon most times the only other option was orange slices, it was very rare there were apples available. The only night the food was very good was the last night we were there and had Turkish Night, there was double the amount of food provided and had the most gorgeous tasting chicken kebab and it generally just had much more variety which was surprising when we didn't get this the rest of the week. Never had a full plate the entire time we were there except for that night. The rooms were tidied up on the daily, floors seemed to be swept daily, the bathroom bucket emptied and the beds made up, sometimes they would put your sheets into different shapes. We never had our towels or bedding changed the entire time we were there (previous stains on both) the room was a little run down, the balcony door didn't lock (thankfully we were high so no risk of someone coming in) and there were cracks/holes in the walls which they had just put a bit of plastic over. The hallways were not cleaned once when we were there, there were stacks of cups, plates and coffee spilled over the stairs on multiple floors for days in a row, no attempt to even stack them. The only toilets that were available (only 2 female cubicles) were always flooded the moment you walked in, overflowing with used toilet roll, broken toilet seats and had no hand towel to dry your hands so people would just shake their hands which meant the floor became very slippery. Reported this the 3 times I used them but still remained a mess, would rather go back up the stairs to the room for bathroom. Unfortunately and this is nothing to do with the hotel and this is why it does not have a much lower rating is the clientele this budget hotel seems to attract. All day around the pool you'd hear foul language, shouting at children/each other, banging the doors all day and all night. You can also hear the doorbells going off even if it's 1/2 floors below you and with the people slamming doors it makes it very difficult to get a decent sleep when you're being collected during the middle of the night to get to the airport. The weather was the bonus for us (very hot) and depending on where you sat at the pool you got sun for most of the day until about 4pm. The big pool is freezing so beware jumping straight in. Entertainment is lacking a bit and just seemed a bit meh. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is a little run down/piles of rubbish but once you get up to Pizza Point (absolutely worth the visit) which is literally a 2 min walk from the hotel, you were then in all of the shopping areas, restaurants and bars. Highly recommend having a meal at Serenade(not too far from the McDonald's) - they aren't pushy trying to get you to go in and the food is incredible, plus they've a family of very friendly cats. We've actually spent less money and have gotten better standards of hotel/holidays so we were a bit disappointed especially given the high reviews on here and the high reviews on the FB page for this hotel so we won't return to the area or the hotel again

A well worth stay

I had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. The hotel itself had a great atmosphere and the facilities were excellent. The location was also very convenient, making it easy to get around and explore the local area. Overall, I was really impressed with the standard of service and value for money. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
