Lara

Located on Antalya's Lara Beach, some 15km from the city centre and 12km from the airport, this is a modern, large and spacious hotel built as the name suggests with a nautical theme and cruise concept, consisting of 589 rooms on 9 levels with an annexe family room building. The large, marble floored lobby with glass-sided lifts and potted palms offers an impressive welcome. There are four pools, a spa and fitness centre, lots of sports on offer, a kids club and a water park with slides and a playground with a fun galleon to play in.

A fabulous family holiday

We have just returned from a wonderful week at the Titanic Deluxe and can honestly say we had an exceptional stay. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and such a lovely place to spend a holiday. It is definitely up there with some of the best family hotels we have visited.

We stayed All Inclusive and were really impressed with the quality and variety of the food. Both breakfast and the evening buffet had an enormous amount of choice, with genuinely something for everyone. The restaurants do get extremely busy and, at times, seemed understaffed, although this was certainly no reflection on the staff themselves, who were always working incredibly hard and remained friendly and helpful.

The pool areas are also very busy, as you would expect from a large family resort, but we were pleasantly surprised that we could generally always find a sunbed. Of course, you still get the usual 6am sunbed campers securing their favourite spots! 😂

There was a great selection of drinks included, although we felt the cocktails could perhaps be improved slightly. The daytime food and snacks were brilliant – waffles, jacket potatoes and a HUGE selection of cakes and puddings available between 12–6pm. You certainly won’t go hungry here!

One of the highlights of our stay was eating at the à la carte restaurant, The Beef Grill. It was exceptional from start to finish – the food, drinks and service were all fantastic and it really felt like a special evening. A particular mention has to go to Mustafa, who looked after us on Monday 17th. You were amazing and made our evening even more enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend paying the extra and treating yourself to a meal here.

However, my absolute favourite part of the holiday was hiring one of the beach cabanas. They are outstanding! If you want a little escape from the hustle and bustle of the main pool areas, they are worth every penny. It was so peaceful and relaxing and the service was exceptional.

A huge thank you to Con (John), who looked after us at the cabanas. We visited more than once during our stay and he even remembered what we liked to drink from our previous visit! He was attentive, friendly and just an all-round great guy who really added something special to our experience.

We did hear quite a few little gripes from other guests during our stay – complaints about the food choice, drink selection, waiting for lifts and occasionally some of the staff seeming a little grumpy (which, to be fair, we did notice once or twice ourselves!). But honestly, you’re on holiday – nothing is ever going to be absolutely perfect! This is a huge, busy family resort with hundreds of guests, and sometimes you might have to wait a few minutes for a lift or not love every single thing on the buffet. For us, none of those little things came close to outweighing all the positives.

Go with realistic expectations, relax, enjoy your holiday and appreciate everything the hotel has to offer. We certainly did, and we’ve come away having had an absolutely fantastic week. Thank you, Titanic Deluxe! ❤️

Amazing holiday!!!

Sunbeds - we were anxious reading the reviews prior to coming about the “sun bed wars” as getting up at the crack of dawn on holiday to reserve your beds is one of our pet peeves on holiday but on our first day after a long day of travelling the night before we slept in until 9am and came down to find there was still beds available. I think the popular spots are around the main pools and you may need to get up slightly earlier to reserve one of these but we were happy with the splash park beds as we had young kids so this was not an issue for us - thankfully!! I did see management take photos of the empty beds with towels on one morning but I don’t think the staff removing your towels is actually enforced as there was one family who reserved beds and didn’t come to sit on them until lunch time (why people do this I don’t know).

Food - the main buffet restaurant was probably my only negative. The food was lovely but unbelievably busy if you go at peak time for dinner (about 7-8pm), it actually made me dizzy walking around as there was just so many people queuing and barging past you that by the time we did sit down to eat I wasn’t hungry anymore. With that being said, we only ate there twice and the second time we ate about half 8/9pm and it was much quieter. The Yamas Greek restaurant started off strong with the starters on the table but the rest of the food was average. However, we booked this restaurant particularly for the sirtaki show which I believe they only do on Tuesdays and Saturdays and the show was incredible - we all had a great time! You can do this restaurant for free but it is without the show. The Italian was lovely too - we booked with Jet2 and with them you get a voucher with the option of two restaurants, we chose the Italian as the other was one seafood which a lot of our family is not keen on. For lunch we walked down to the beach restaurants every day and again the food here was really nice! The kids loved the waffles, patisseries and ice cream and they also do potatoes with toppings on which I tried one day and it was lovely. Kids club - absolutely fantastic. Not a bad word to say about it. Our kids used it in the evenings mostly and also for a couple of hours during the day towards the end of our holiday as the sun was getting too much for them. You can get wrist bands for them so they can’t leave without you collecting. Staff are in every room watching the kids and there’s plenty for them to do! (Lego rooms, soft play, outdoor park, art workshops, wood workshops and so much more). You can access their daily activities via the app which is so handy to see what’s on and ask the kids what they would like to do. The kids club has its own restaurant which again is fantastic. Hands down it is the best kids club I’ve ever seen - this hotel has it spot on. The only thing I would say is it’s very busy in the evenings and if we had younger kids I probably wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving them as there’s loads of people coming and going but our kids were a bit older so we made sure they stuck together and they knew to ask reception to phone us if they wanted to leave. They did kids fest Tuesday night which is quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever seen for kids - it’s like another world for them. Lifeguards and waiters around the pool are fantastic and on the ball and very good at their jobs! There is one life guard (unfortunately don’t know his name) who was particularly good and he was on it every time he was working - you could tell he cared about the kids and his job which was nice. Staff are lovely - didn’t encounter any rude staff. They will go above and beyond for you making sure you have everything you need. I will say a tip goes a very long way - you tip, you get looked after. We already knew this as family members in our group have been to Turkey many times before. You get looked after anyway but if you do tip - it’s the next level of service. The hotel is spotless - staff are always cleaning, no complaints there. Rooms were nice and spacious - we were a family of three and had plenty of room. Mini fridge in your room is restocked daily, too. The cabanas are 100% worth it, but we only got a cabana for one day as they are expensive but you do get what you pay for. Again the service on the cabanas was exceptional and the staff were very attentive - always checking if you need anything. Easy access to the beach too with lots going on (jet skis etc) but we’re not a fan on the sand (too hot and sticky) so we only visited once. The hotel has a shisha lounge, tattoo shop for kids (small charge) which we loved. There’s shops in the hotel should you need anything. More shops and restaurants located a short 15 minute walk round the corner too. One negative for us was how much late checkout was (€30 per hour!!!) daylight robbery but is what it is. We just used the lounge facilities which again were 10/10. I could go on and on but overall I’d say the hotel for us was a 9/10. We would definitely return and we all had a fantastic time.

Nice but not 5 star

I would like to write a fair review on this hotel as many people focus on the negative or the positive only, due to a good or bad experience, so I feel it would be fair to leave a honest review of both. We are on a TUI holiday and 5 times we have tried to reach out to a rep in the mornings and no one is there, the Jet2 and easyJet holiday reps are always available. We have emailed TUI and tried to call no answer, so you need to resolve your own issues. Many of the reception team are not very enthusiastic to say the least but they do try to help you. After 5 night of no sleep due to air conditioning issues in August in a 38 degree heat, noises, breaking, having sent mechanics on two occasions we have been offered another room. The first room we were taken too when we arrived smelt awful, extreme damp and overlooking a car park. We said we would not accept that room so we were taken to what seemed a nicer room, where we have spent the past 5 nights. The room itself is tired, wallpaper coming off walls and bathrooms tired, the grout needs replacing and mastic to stop the water leaking. I have looked beyond that as I know a 5 star hotel in Turkey, unless it states luxury is generally a 4 star, which having spent 13 years in the travel industry in the past myself know the difference between the ratings. This hotel earns its 5 stars on the entertainment, which we wanted for our 9 year old. The reviews all looked amazing but it depends honestly if you are a 5 star luxury guest or a 4 star with good entertainment and facilities. This is not luxury but still nice. Our air conditioner for the past 5 nights has stopped working, won’t go below 22 degrees which is apparently what the hotel system is set at, but it is so hot still and obviously causing issues. They have sent a technician 2 times and not been able to solve. It makes awful noises. We have been offered another room which we will try. This is going to be further back on the hotel, the front rooms are like being in a night club with no sound proofing and the entertainment goes on till around 1pm so be prepared to not sleep till late, especially if you have young children. This is important to know.
We have been unlucky with the room above scrapping chairs and making noises up till 3 am in the morning so sleep has been a big issue. We hoped this would have been solved earlier. You need to get up super early as 8am is not early enough to reserve a sunbed. They have a no reservation policy but do not implement that, and we have not been able to get around the main pool any day. There is an Olympic pool 1.88 depth and another lovely pool with bridges and this is very nice and quieter. The main pool is taken mostly up of cabanas, which they charge 150 euros for. They also have beach cabanas starting at 150 euros, we had one of these and it was beautiful, the service amazing and I highly recommend if you have the money to do that and get away from the hustle and bustle of this very large hotel. This is a buffet restaurant for dinner and paid 3 à la carte restaurants. Children are not free which they should be considering they offer nuggets and meatballs etc, nothing exceptional for kids only adults, which is very cheeky. 47!euros an adult and 27 a child in the steak restaurant. They should offer child portions of the adult menu, when you have to pay extra in my opinion. The outside area restaurants at lunch and patisseries are all lovely, as is the service and food, very different to the buffet, which is a very large, loud canteen style, absolutely nothing special. On two occasions we have got up to get food and come back to someone else on our table, and our drinks cleared, it’s too big and busy for the staff to manage this. Be aware as this coming from someone who usually has à la carte restaurants included and never just a buffet. The entertainment is good a lovely firework display on the white party night. Be aware children’s tattoos cost 30 euros and then when they have applied them tell you not to put suncream on them. Common sense should tell us that, it’s hard to say no but if you have more than one child that’s a small fortune to consider here. They bring out light up cars at night and then charge 20 euros for 15 mins, may have been 18 but again, be aware as this hotel are out to make more money and you need to be aware of that. We have one child so easier for us but if you have more it will cost you.
The drinks are nice and you can order to your sun lounger on app only. It’s a nice hotel and hopefully our room issues will resolve but I will be sure to finish the review. It’s nice for families to know what is in store so I hope this helps you honestly and fairly.
