Lara

Located on Antalya's Lara Beach, some 15km from the city centre and 12km from the airport, this is a modern, large and spacious hotel built as the name suggests with a nautical theme and cruise concept, consisting of 589 rooms on 9 levels with an annexe family room building. The large, marble floored lobby with glass-sided lifts and potted palms offers an impressive welcome. There are four pools, a spa and fitness centre, lots of sports on offer, a kids club and a water park with slides and a playground with a fun galleon to play in.

Disappointment that has no end

I’m really experienced with traveling in Antalya, especially in Lara. My family has been to almost every hotel here. I can say without doubts that Titatic is one of the worst hotels that we've been to. We’d been here for 2 weeks in July and, unfortunately, we were utterly disappointed in everything. The thing that was the most egregious is that the hotel's main goal is to make extra money. It’s literally impossible to receive good service if you don’t pay for additional services. Moreover, the whole pier and half of the beach are given for cabanas that you can rent (the lowest one costs 150 Eur). The pier is closed during evening time and so is the bar there. Only half of the beach territory can be used by regular guests, which makes the sea pretty crowded. We had no choice but to rent it to fully relax and finally feel the holiday. That was the day when we realized that they can take care of their guests, be included in work and be welcoming. Generally, the service is appalling. I would even say that it doesn’t exist. Hotel is positioned as a deluxe but in real life it’s a weak 5 stars’ hotel. Last but not the least is the lack of cleanliness all over the hotel. For instance, loos are extremely dirty! During the daytime the staff don’t even try to clean them… Moreover, the lounge zone near the bar was never cleaned (coffee stains are everywhere on sofas, rubbish under and on the tables and chairs). I also wanna highlight areas near swimming that are extremely dirty and it seems that they don’t even try to wash the floor! Not only is it dangerous and slippery but also unpleasant to spend time there. Speaking about swimming pools, there is only one shower that has low water pressure (so it’s impossible to wash ur body) and it has never been cleaned (Hair clumps were found in the shower during whole our stay at the hotel.). Moreover, some of the chaise lounges are located in the grass so all the dirt gets into the water. In addition, there are not enough sun umbrellas so many of them are located under the direct sun (the funniest thing is that they have available umbrellas in the closet but don’t give them to guests). I might be a bit picky, but there are a couple more things that we didn’t like: There are no fridges that you can pick and grab a drink in the can. Even if you want just a bottle of water you have to stay in queue to have it. Also in the bars or restaurants they give drinks only in glass. There are no clocks on the beach and bars so it’s impossible to know the time if you don't have a phone or a watch. There is no diversity of food . No much seasonal fruits, no white rise… I’d say that food is either tasteless or oversalted. During daytime only fast food is available (pizza, hamburgers, pita or duner). The cafe with coffee is closed at 12 pm.

No way would I go to this hotel if I knew about it all in advance. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel…

Great family resort

Brilliant family resort. 5 stars all around. Staff very helpful and accommodating.

TripAdvisor Review
Fabulous hotel - looking to book again!

After reading lots of comments before we travelled, I felt quite apprehensive about our stay, so I wanted to come back and leave an honest review. We stayed as a family of four with our 11-month-old daughter and our 8-year-old son.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at ease. The staff genuinely couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay and were always so friendly and accommodating.

The hotel itself is beautiful, with plenty of pools to choose from. It is true that some people reserve sunbeds very early despite being asked not to, so if you specifically want a bed by the main pool, you’ll need to be up quite early. We actually used this as an opportunity to each have a little break from the children, taking it in turns to go down around 8:30-9:00am whilst the other stays with the children. We always managed to get beds by the slide pool or Olympic pool. If we fancied a slower morning, there were always plenty of sunbeds available on the beach. I do also want to mention that the hotel staff were actively trying to enforce the no-reserving policy. They appeared to photograph each area at around 8am and then again at approximately 10am. If sunbeds had remained reserved but unattended during that time, staff removed the towels and belongings, whether they were hotel towels or guests’ own personal towels. It was good to see that they were making an effort to stop people reserving beds for hours without using them, although I appreciate once one person does this - everyone follows suit. You can also order drinks directly to your lounger via the QR codes placed on the parasols.

The grass area behind the beach was perfect for our 11-month-old who wanted to walk everywhere, especially as the sand became very hot. We also loved the complimentary grey cabanas on the beach, which provided plenty of shade for our daughter.

We treated ourselves to a private cabana on two days. We tried one by the main pool, which was lovely, but our favourite was definitely the beach cabana. It was huge, there was a lovely breeze, everything was brought to us, and again, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. It was perfect for keeping both children shaded. We deliberately booked a second-row beach cabana as the front row has quite a steep drop, which wasn’t ideal with a toddling baby. The pier cabanas also looked beautiful but wouldn’t have suited us this year. We booked both cabanas before travelling after seeing on this Facebook page how quickly they sell out. That said, they are definitely a luxury rather than a necessity, and you can still have an amazing holiday without them.

Our room was a little snug for a family of four but absolutely fine. We were on the top floor with a lovely view, and in hindsight this worked really well as the lifts can become quite busy, although there can still be queues at peak times.

The pools were fantastic, and I can’t praise the lifeguards enough. They were incredibly vigilant and made us feel very safe. We actually witnessed one lifeguard being confronted by an unhappy parent after politely asking them to leave the water because their child couldn’t stand safely. The lifeguard handled the situation professionally and was simply doing his job to keep everyone safe. Another lifeguard even went down the slides with our son, which absolutely made his day. Little touches like that really stood out. The entertainment team were equally brilliant and really made an effort to get to know families.

The evening entertainment was excellent, and we really enjoyed the shows in the amphitheatre.

The Kids Club was incredible. I honestly couldn’t believe how much there was for children to do. Although you can leave your children there safely (they wear security bracelets so they can’t leave), we chose not to. We probably would have considered it if our son had made friends with another child. The facilities and activities looked fantastic.

One hidden gem that I don’t think many people know about is the baby spa. It always seemed to have plenty of availability. We took our 11-month-old daughter, and although she wasn’t particularly keen on the jacuzzi (I think mainly because she had to wear a float around her neck!), she absolutely loved the baby massage afterwards. The staff were fantastic with her and made it such a lovely experience. It’s definitely worth looking into if you’re travelling with a baby.

Another hidden gem that I don’t think enough people know about is the children’s restaurant at the back of the Kids Club. It was always really quiet whenever we went. They offer table service, baby food jars, and lots of child-friendly favourites (the usual “beige food” that many children love!), as well as sushi, which our son absolutely loved. Feeding the children there was so much calmer than in the main restaurant.

The main buffet was probably the only part of the holiday we didn’t particularly enjoy. There was plenty of food and lots of choice, although it was fairly repetitive, which is absolutely fine on an all-inclusive holiday. The biggest issue for us was simply how busy and chaotic it became. It could feel quite overwhelming with so many people collecting food at once, so we often chose to sit outside, where it felt much calmer. Drinks are brought to your table, and although there can sometimes be a wait, the staff were always happy to help if you asked.

We didn’t try any of the à la carte restaurants as they are an additional cost, but there are so many other places to eat around the resort that you really don’t need to. The snack restaurants are open from midday until 6pm, there are waffle and pâtisserie bars, and we only discovered the jacket potato bar on our final day—which was such a shame because they were delicious! Realistically, you could happily avoid the main buffet for much of your holiday if you wanted to.

One thing many people ask about is illness. During our 10-day stay, none of us experienced any sickness or diarrhoea, and we never witnessed anyone being unwell around the hotel. We did speak to one family on our final day whose son had sadly been very poorly and needed hospital treatment, but this happened at the start of their holiday, so I couldn’t say whether it was something picked up while travelling or otherwise.

Our daughter’s bunny unfortunately disappeared after housekeeping accidentally wrapped it up in the bedding, but thankfully it was found and returned to us, which we really appreciated.

If I had one small criticism, it would be the room cleaning. Compared with other five-star hotels we’ve stayed in, it wasn’t quite to the same standard. Towels were changed, beds were made and the bathroom refreshed, but our floor definitely wasn’t swept or mopped during the 10 days we were there. That said, the rest of the hotel was absolutely immaculate, and staff were constantly cleaning the public areas. We also always found clean highchairs ready to use, complete with individually wrapped wipes and disposable bibs, which was a lovely touch.

There are shops within the hotel, but they are very expensive. If you leave the hotel, cross the blue bridge and explore the shops, or turn right and continue further along the strip, you’ll find much better prices.

On our final day we checked out at 12pm and didn’t bother paying for late checkout. Our luggage was taken down for us, and there is a comfortable lounge with showers and refreshments, so we could freshen up before leaving. We were still able to use all the hotel facilities until it was time to head to the airport, which was a great bonus.

Overall, we had a fantastic holiday. No hotel is perfect, but for us, the positives far outweighed the negatives. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we’d genuinely consider returning next year—and that’s saying something because we almost never go back to the same hotel twice. Hopefully this honest review helps reassure anyone who, like me, has been feeling a little nervous after reading mixed reviews.

Disappointing Five Star Experience - Would Not Return

Disappointing Five-Star Experience – Wouldn’t Return

We booked Titanic Deluxe Lara through EasyJet Holidays and, unfortunately, it was one of our most disappointing holidays.

The hotel has some impressive facilities, but the overall guest experience fell well short of what we’d expect from a five-star resort. Rooms were tired and not particularly clean, check-in was disorganised with room allocation problems, and the hotel simply felt overcrowded. Waiting around 10 minutes for a lift became a regular frustration. We had to have the room service tam out three times, twice for problems with the sink, once for air-con and safe did not work. They insisted we stay in room to get safe fixed but we declined to spend our holiday time staying in the room so had to spend the week with no safe!

The buffet offered plenty of choice, but the quality was disappointing. Pool drink service was good, but cabana service was so poor that we eventually gave up and went to the bar ourselves. Staff were inconsistent—some were excellent, while others were unfriendly and unhelpful.

Everything felt very transactional. We had to settle our account by 8pm the evening before departure, even though we were still guests.

Guest services let us down by cancelling two excursions at the last minute. The photography services and jet ski videos were also hugely overpriced, and our experience with the photographers was the least friendly customer service we encountered during the holiday.

One positive was the exceptionally clean, air-conditioned public toilets. However, this contrasted with the pool areas, where litter and plastic straw wrappers were often left around the sunbeds.

We were also disappointed to see staff asking guests around the pool to leave positive reviews while they were still staying at the hotel.

If you do choose to stay, book the à la carte restaurants, cabanas and excursions as early as possible, as they fill up quickly.

The facilities may justify a five-star rating, but the service, room condition and overall guest experience certainly did not. There are far better hotels in Antalya offering better value and a more enjoyable holiday. We won’t be returning.
