Out of touch with the actual quality and level of service provided
I frequently visit Antalya with my family. Royal Seginus hotel has always stood out because of the massive star at the top of the building. Walking along the shore in previous years, we noticed the pier, so when it came time to pick out next location, we gave it a try.
There were some concerning reviews online regarding the service, but I chose to ignore them. I regretted immediately upon arrival. The reception is pure chaos. After waiting for a long time and being moved from one line to another, I no longer doubted a single word written by previous guests. When we finally managed to catch the attention of a staff member who wasn’t leaving to eat, smoke, or simply ignore us, the receptionist made the most pathetic comment: the previous guests had waited two and a half hours, so according to him I had nothing to complain about!
As for the amenities, the food is tasty, but the main restaurant is in tragic condition, featuring torn and peeling leather seats. In our bathroom, a clump of someone else’s hair stayed behind the door for three full days.
The aquapark could be wonderful, but it is heavily overcrowded. Not all slides are operating. Lifeguards are stressed, behaving rudely toward guests and children.
On a positive note, the pier is truly enjoyable; you can swim alongside curious fish. I’m not sure the hotel can take credit for the marine life, but let’s say they’ve created a nice setup there. Additionally, in the quiet green areas along the path connecting the hotel to the beach, you can spot hedgehogs and interesting birds.
Overall, there is a serious mismatch between the hotel's high claims, its prices, and the actual reality of the service and facilities.

Can I just say how amazing sude 20 years old how amazing she made us feel and she need her wages upped she is so polite and nice made us feel so welcome and we will be leaving her a big tip when we leave in 10 day She is amazing

This is our 7 th vist to the hotel the main reason we keep coming back is the wonderful MR Alex he is always happy bright and cheery his water gym and aqua Zumba are amazing he is constantly on the go talking to guests
Royal Seginus - Not a 5 Star Hotel
Firstly, I understand its easy to criticise on a platform but based on visiting Turkey over 30 times, staying in many different hotels, my review is based on experience and the opportunity for a hotel to respond to issues brought to them by guests staying in their hotel.
The Royal Seginus in Lara Beach is not a 5 Star Hotel. It is in our opinion now just about a 4 Star. This is based on previous stays we have had in this hotel Pre-Covid when it was worthy of its 5 Star Rating.
In Summary -: Food - the main restaurant is now more like a canteen. Whilst on first view there seems to be many choices, in principle the same type of food was presented day in day out. The dishes on display were often cold, dried up, unreplenished and left looking unappetising. Many chefs stood around the food hall, mainly talking to each other or on their phones and only once in 10 days did I see a chef telling service staff to remove a dish, top a dish up or make it look editable. No temperatures were taken and on putting the luke warm food on your plate it was cold on sitting down to eat. Many times we commented on this but nothing was done.
A La Carte Restaurants - we decided as an alternative option we would utilise the various themed restaurants. On trying to book we found out that the historical price of 10 Euros per person had risen to 30 / 40 Euros per person. This meant our family of 4 would have to pay an additional 120 / 160 Euros per meal. The hotel Stone Group had decided to increase the price this season but no one was taking up the opportunity to dine which meant many stayed closed. On requesting to eat in a themed restaurant, we were informed we would need a minimum of 6 to 10 people to dine for the hotel to open one. When we found other disgruntled holidaymakers who were prepared to pay we were informed that no chef's were available to open up on the days we required them.
We did manage to dine in the Steak & Teppanyaki Restaurants at an additional 160 Euros per family meal and once in the Italian at 120 Euros. This gave us a break from the canteen food but at a cost. We constantly complained and managed to get another 2 nights free but it took a lot of complaining to the hotel. After numerous visits and conversations with Guest Relations, who to be fair tried to be helpful, we actually got to speak with the Operations Manager, a Mr T Ceylani, 3 days before our departure. He listened to all our comments, took notes, seemed empathetic and said he would contact us with an outcome. We never heard from him again which based on our ongoing experience of the hotel was not surprising.
The hotel felt like it was winding down after the busy summer. Many of the staff looked tired and scruffy in their uniforms and quite a number of staff ignored you. There where though, also some great staff who were friendly and could not do enough for you. Many of the staff also seemed to agree and commented on how the hotel standards had dropped and I believe they were getting used to the holidaymakers comments/complaints.
Other issues that arose - we had a day of ongoing rain so you could not go out. A number of us with children asked could we use the large indoor pools thinking it would help keep the children entertained. We were informed that the indoor pool did not open until November and would not compromise even though they had the life guards available. I have on numerous occasions in other local hotels used the indoor pool without problem. Again another opportunity for the hotel to go that extra mile but they were not interested in helping.
Hotel Rooms - I would say these are some of the largest and spacious rooms I have stayed in which was great. Sadly, the cleaning was not up to standard with dirty drinking glasses, mirrors and doors on arrival. My daughter had a small child and fed him in the room but many plates and dishes were left over a number of days which resulted in her putting them on the floor in the corridor to be removed. A hotel with a 5 Star rating would not let the issues above arise.
Overall, we gave the hotel many opportunities to respond to issues raised and we heard many other nationalities complaining about the same things. Sadly the hotel did not fully take all of these on board and we will not stay or recommend any of our friends to stay there in the future.

Amazing stay at Royal Seginus
Honestly we were really anxious and worried ahead of going based on some recent bad reviews. It really swayed our expectations. But Royal Seginus was absolutely fantastic. Take it on face value for price paid to experience received and don't go expecting 5 star ultimate luxury and you will really enjoy it. The service was pretty good but we weren't expecting to be served on hand and foot. We were happy to help ourselves at breakfast lunch and dinner but the staff did get us drinks to the table etc. Our room was absolutely amazing, so big! Very luxurious. I know want a steam shower at home lol. The room was cleaned towels and sheets changed daily. The food was actually pretty decent. It wasn't like eating at The Ivy don't get me wrong but there was always something to eat and we never got ill or any sign of sickness once, (as previous reviews stated.) If we picked something that didn't look completely convincing (maybe slightly pink) just get something else. The vast selection of food and drinks was absolutely incredible (albeit it maybe a bit repetitive if you stick to what you feel comfortable with.)
There was always a huge selection of food inside, outside or at the beach. You won't go hungry!
The resort, beach and pools were absolutely amazing. Honestly I would highly recommend it. One of the best holidays we have ever had!
The only negative is the blue slide beat me up a bit and chucked me out the ring so maybe avoid the slides - that did happen to others also I did see people exiting with bruises The location is so close to Land Of Legends definitely go there and the walk or short taxi to Lara Bazaar was a highlight too.
