Susesi Luxury Resort

We’ve just returned from 7 nights at Susesi Luxury Resort and, having never stayed here before, we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

From the moment we arrived, the hotel completely exceeded our expectations. We were incredibly fortunate to be upgraded to a Lake House Suite and wow… what an upgrade! The suite was absolutely stunning – spacious, beautifully designed, fantastic views, and having two separate entrances directly into the swim-up pool made it feel incredibly special. The whole Lake House area is something else and really took the holiday to another level.

We did have a small issue with the air conditioning in our suite, but this is actually something I want to mention because of how brilliantly it was handled. The team responded quickly, worked to rectify the issue and, importantly, offered us a selection of alternative rooms if we weren’t completely happy. It was handled professionally and with absolutely no fuss. That level of care really stood out.

As we were celebrating our anniversary, we were also incredibly grateful for some wonderful additional touches during our stay. We were given three à la carte restaurant bookings rather than the usual one, allowing us to experience the Indian, Italian and Asian restaurants. All three were excellent, with great food, lovely service and completely different experiences.

We were also given a complimentary cabana for the day, which was such a fantastic surprise and made for a really memorable day.

The food throughout the resort was excellent. The main restaurant had an enormous variety and, importantly, the quality was consistently high. There was something for everyone and plenty of choice every day, without it feeling repetitive.

The drinks deserve a special mention too. The quality was excellent, with branded drinks available and some genuinely brilliant cocktails. This isn’t a resort where you feel like the drinks have been compromised because it’s all-inclusive – quite the opposite.

The evening entertainment was another highlight. The quality of the shows, live music, dancers and performances was superb and there was a great atmosphere around the resort in the evenings. You can tell a lot of thought and investment goes into the entertainment programme.

The location is also really convenient if you want to explore outside the resort. The dolmus stops directly outside the hotel and runs roughly every 30 minutes into Belek. At the time of our stay it was just 60 TL per person (around €1.50), making it incredibly easy and inexpensive to get into town.

But above everything else, it was the people who made the holiday. A huge thank you to the entire Susesi team and management for making our anniversary stay so special. The upgrades, extra restaurant experiences, cabana and, most importantly, the way the team looked after us throughout the week genuinely made us feel valued as guests.

This was our first visit to Susesi, but I don’t think it will be our last.

We have just returned from our second holiday at Susesi Luxury Resort, and I felt I had to write a proper review this time because this hotel genuinely deserves it.

I travel quite a lot and, until Susesi, I had never returned to the same resort twice. There are simply too many places in the world to discover, and normally I prefer trying somewhere new every year. We first stayed at Susesi last year and enjoyed it so much that, for the first time, we decided to come back to exactly the same place. After this second stay, I can confidently say that the decision was absolutely worth it.

What impressed me most is the consistency of the quality. Sometimes you return somewhere you loved and the second experience does not quite live up to the memory. That was not the case here. Susesi was every bit as good as we remembered it, and in some respects we probably appreciated it even more because we already knew just how much the hotel has to offer.

The food deserves special mention because it is one of the strongest aspects of the resort. The choice is enormous, but more importantly, the quality remains very high. There is genuine variety from one day to another, so even after a week you do not feel as though you are eating the same buffet repeatedly.

Every day seemed to have its own culinary theme or selection, with different evenings focusing on fish and seafood, Asian food, Turkish cuisine, Latin-inspired dishes and many other styles. There were steaks and grilled meats of all kinds, beautifully prepared fish, a huge selection of salads, vegetables, side dishes, desserts and fresh fruit. You could easily eat something completely different every day.

One of the things I particularly liked was that the hotel does not rely only on quantity. There are plenty of resorts with enormous buffets, but the food can become repetitive or average after a few days. At Susesi, there is a noticeable effort to keep things interesting.

There are also all those small things that make an all-inclusive holiday genuinely enjoyable: ice cream whenever you feel like having one, freshly squeezed orange juice, snacks during the day and plenty of choices outside the main meal times.

The drinks are another big plus. Proper branded drinks are available rather than the anonymous local substitutes you sometimes find at all-inclusive hotels. Cocktails, spirits and other drinks were consistently good, and the overall impression is that the hotel does not try to cut corners.

The entertainment in the evenings was also excellent. Every evening there was a different show, and the quality was surprisingly high throughout our stay. We saw completely different performances from one night to another, which gave each evening its own atmosphere. These were not the kind of shows you watch for ten minutes simply because there is nothing else to do. We genuinely enjoyed them.

Cleanliness throughout the resort is exceptional. The rooms, restaurants, common areas, pools, gardens, beach and facilities are all very well maintained. Even with a large number of guests, the resort never gives you the feeling of being neglected or overwhelmed. Staff seem to be constantly working quietly in the background to keep everything spotless.

The pool and beach areas are also very well organised. One thing that can ruin a resort holiday for me is having to wake up ridiculously early just to find a sunbed. At Susesi this was never an issue. There were plenty of sunbeds available both around the pools and on the beach, and we could simply choose where we wanted to spend the day without turning breakfast into a military operation to reserve a chair.

The resort itself is large, but it is beautifully laid out. There is plenty of space, green areas, pools and places where you can either be close to the activity or find somewhere quieter. Even when the hotel is busy, it rarely feels crowded.

Another thing I appreciate is that Susesi manages to feel luxurious without becoming stiff or pretentious. You can spend the entire day barefoot by the pool or beach, have a drink, eat whenever you feel like it and simply relax, while still enjoying the standards you would expect from a genuinely high-quality five-star resort.

For us, the most telling compliment is very simple: we came back.

After our first stay last year, Susesi became the first resort I have ever wanted to visit for a second time. After staying here again this year, I completely understand why.

Excellent food, excellent drinks, very good entertainment, beautiful surroundings, exceptional cleanliness, plenty of space around the pools and beach, and a consistently high standard throughout the entire resort.

There are hotels that impress you during the first couple of days and then gradually reveal their weaknesses. Susesi did the opposite for us. The longer we stayed, the more we appreciated how many things they simply get right.

Would I return for a third time?

After saying for years that I never visit the same resort twice, I am beginning to think I should stop making rules for myself.

A phenomenal family holiday – exceptional food, facilities and staff

We have just returned from an absolutely spectacular family holiday at Susesi Luxury Resort. We travelled with our children and my wife’s parents, and every member of the family was extremely impressed.

Food quality is particularly important to me, and the buffet was phenomenal. Every evening there was an excellent selection of beef, lamb and chicken, much of it freshly cooked over coals, giving it a superb barbecue flavour. There was also an extensive range of seafood, including salmon, sea bass and mackerel, alongside beautifully prepared sauces, vegetables, salads, fruit and desserts. I personally appreciated that the offering did not rely on pork or cheap processed meats. The quality, freshness and variety were outstanding throughout our stay.

The resort facilities were equally impressive. There are multiple pools, extensive landscaped grounds, a private beach and a good waterpark with approximately five or six large outdoor slides. Everything was maintained to an exceptionally high standard.

The Caretta Kids Club was brilliant. It had excellent facilities, and our daughter enjoyed it so much that she was happy to stay independently for an hour or more. The staff recorded our telephone number and contacted us whenever she was ready to be collected, which made the arrangement feel safe and well organised. The children’s evening mini disco was also a lovely feature and something the children thoroughly enjoyed.

Before arriving, we requested a quiet family room on a high floor and as far away from the evening entertainment as possible. The hotel allocated us perfectly. Our spacious room accommodated a double bed, single bed and cot while still leaving plenty of usable space. We never heard the evening entertainment from our room, and housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping everything clean and tidy throughout the holiday.

The staff deserve particular recognition. They were consistently friendly, attentive and professional, and regularly took the time to engage with our children. Their warmth made the entire experience feel genuinely welcoming rather than merely efficient.

The main evening entertainment was excellent. I attended the final show and thought it was brilliant. My parents-in-law watched the entertainment every evening and were extremely impressed, while my wife attended several performances and felt exactly the same.

We all used the spa and had treatments, which were excellent and made the holiday feel particularly special. I also used the wellness facilities daily. The sauna, steam room and Turkish bath were clean, relaxing and very well maintained.

The gym is among the best I have encountered in a resort. It is closer to a proper commercial gym than a typical hotel fitness room, with an extensive selection of resistance machines, free weights and cardiovascular equipment. It also opens at 06:00, which was ideal for me as I prefer to train early before beginning the day with my family. The only minor omission for serious strength training is a power rack, but the gym remains exceptional by hotel standards.

I do not drink alcohol, so I cannot fairly assess the alcoholic drinks selection. However, the Turkish coffee was excellent, and my wife particularly enjoyed the Turkish tea.

We also dined at the included Tuğra Turkish à-la-carte restaurant and had a lovely experience. Tumanna Steak House was enjoyable and reasonably priced, although the standard of the main buffet was so high that the steakhouse did not represent a significant step up. Our only constructive criticism is that the booking arrangements, operating days and charges for the six à-la-carte restaurants could be communicated more clearly.

The holiday also represented exceptional value for money. We paid a similar amount for a very good resort holiday in Corfu earlier this year, but Susesi provided substantially more in terms of food, accommodation, facilities, children’s provision, spa and overall experience.

Susesi exceeded our expectations. The food, facilities, room, staff, entertainment, children’s club, waterpark and spa combined to create one of the best family holidays we have experienced. We would confidently recommend Susesi Luxury Resort and would be very happy to return.
