Disappointing
We are currently here on holiday as a family of five. I have waited a few days before writing this to really get a feel of what the resort is like and whilst initially with our room we were quite impressed. We are in a Senior Suite which is very spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The housekeeping team were very accommodating on our first night making up a third bed for the second bedroom so that all of the children could be together. The room has been kept clean & tidy throughout our stay. There is however, a very odd smell - like cat wee in one of the bathrooms. Housekeeping came out but couldn’t resolve it, which has been disappointing.
A few points to note if you are thinking of coming throughout the busy season. Mealtimes are carnage at peak times. No one seats you to a table like we have experienced in other 5 star resorts. Most days it has literally been a free for all & bear in mind that most people here are with their families a lot need large tables - we have had several instances where we have had to put tables together ourselves to make it large enough whilst staff have just looked on. It has been ridiculous & quite stressful at times.
A lot of guests smoke which seems alien now being English! Our issue has been that no one complies to the no smoking areas so if you want to sit outside to eat, be prepared to be sat around a lot of smokers, even in the non smoking section. We mentioned this to a number of staff and not one was interested. All of the rooms are meant to be non smoking as well but, again these rules don’t seem to apply to everyone. Several times we have been able to smell smoke in our room and the communal corridors have a very stale smoky smell to them. When I mentioned this at the front desk, I was told in a very polite way that whilst they understood my frustration, there was little that they could do. I did look at another room but the hassle of moving five of us half way through the holiday just to be in the same boat didn’t appeal.
The food and drinks are very average in our opinion. You can always find something to eat but you have to wonder around the various different stations for a while to find it. To do this easily you need to be at the restaurants early otherwise it’s very difficult, especially with small children. We have also found it particularly difficult to get a decent coffee!!
Most of the staff look absolutely shattered which is no doubt why a lot can’t be bothered to help. There are the odd few however, who are great - you’ll just need to seek them out & hope that they can speak English as many can’t or don’t want too!
We weren’t told on arrival where the buffet restaurant was and there is no evening turn down service. No biggies but what you expect in a 5 star resort.
Lastly the hotel is very old & very tired in parts. There are a lot of areas which need a total refurb. There are chunks missing out of walls, broken floor tiles in & out of the hotel, especially around the pool. Tired dirty brollies & sun loungers (which are basic) etc. It has clearly had a LOT of use over the years and just not been kept on top of.
In our opinion this hotel with the quality of the facilities, the quality of the food offering and attentiveness of staff is no more than a 4 star - at a push. I’m not sure how Jet2 can sell this holiday as a 5 star Luxe??? There are so many other hotels in Turkey, I would avoid this one unfortunately & look for something a bit newer - (although tricky as the Jet2 pictures on line aren’t a true representation of what we’ve seen)
Overall, whilst we have made the most of it, it has been a disappointing week & has made me really think twice about booking another holiday with Jet2holidays.
** We have complained to the Guest Relations team about all of the above and they have booked us into the Al A Carte restaurants for the remainder of our stay to avoid the saga of the main buffet restaurant. I also spoke with the Jet2 Rep to make a formal complaint**

High class resort
A real high class hotel. The rooms were nothing special but sufficient. The food was good and plenty varied for a weeks stay. The service was exceptional. Plenty of space by the pool and no need to place towels to get a sunbed. Visited the restaurant by the sea for 25€ extra charge and the food was bad but you couldn’t beat that view.

We were very pleased with our holiday at Susesi Hotel. We had a great and fun time, especially with the kids. The quality of the food and drinks was really good. All the employees were extremely friendly, caring and doing their job very well. I would also like to thank Mr. Bahri from the Beach Bar section, Duygu Hanım and Mr. Ramazan from the breakfast section, Gülüşah Hanım from the bar, Kadriye Hanım, Ersen Bey and Zeynep Hanım from hot drinks. They were all very caring and helpful to us during our holiday. The smiling face and attention of the employees made us feel very special at the hotel. We were generally very pleased with Susesi Hotel and made great memories with our children. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed. We would definitely like to come back again. ❤️

Disappointing experience despite some good facilities
Our stay at Susesi Luxury Resort Belek was mixed, and unfortunately it did not feel like the five-star experience we expected.
Our room was not ideal for a family of four. The two beds for our daughters were positioned close to the sliding door, restricting access. The wheels also stuck out from the beds, and one of our daughters tripped over them and hurt herself.
The key cards regularly stopped working, meaning we had to make several trips to reception to have them replaced. This was inconvenient, especially when travelling with children.
The food was mostly acceptable, but in our opinion it did not meet a five-star standard. There were pieces of eggshell in the morning eggs on several occasions, and the desserts were bland and seemed very repetitive.
Unfortunately, our daughter developed an ear infection on the fourth day of our stay, so we had to visit the resort doctor. The consultation and treatment cost £170, and the doctor recommended ear drops, advising us to return if her condition did not improve without paying another consultation fee. When she later woke with severe pain and a temperature, the doctor was not available that day. We had to persist with reception to explain that she needed antibiotics, particularly as we were due to fly. Although the situation was eventually resolved, it was extremely stressful.
We were also disappointed that the hotel did not offer any gesture of goodwill after these issues. I had to request a cabana near the beach myself, although these are not actually on the beach and are located on a grassed area.
There were some positive aspects. The kids’ club was fantastic, and the staff worked very hard to make the children feel welcome. The entertainment was also good.
Overall, although the resort has some excellent facilities and activities for children, the room layout, repeated key-card problems, food quality and the way our daughter’s medical situation was handled meant that we left disappointed. We would not consider this resort to be a true five-star experience based on our stay.

I had a really pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere was lovely. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!
