Amazing hotel, highly recommend
We’ve just stayed at the Selectum for 8 nights as a family of 4, from 26 Aug to 3 Sept.
Overall, we had an amazing holiday. Our room was well presented and kept nice and clean during our stay. The grounds are really beautiful, lots of flowers, fruit trees and plants that are well looked after. The pool area is wonderful, we really liked that it was a walk in pool, perfect for kids. There were plenty of sunbeds during our stay, of course there are still some families that reserve them and don’t use them until late in the day though. The pools were kept clean and one of the workers we saw a lot of ensured all the areas around the pool was clean, he was also very friendly and welcoming. The beach was also very clean, with lots of sunbeds and plenty of shade if needed.
We really enjoyed the food at the Selectum. I’m a very fussy British person, but I really enjoyed the variety and different themes each night. The food was also presented really beautifully. The kids section is very small, but I think there are plenty of options for them in the main restaurant area anyway. We found the service in the main restaurant mostly excellent, often at breakfast they missed taking our drinks order, but unlike some hotels in the area, you can help yourself anyway. There are plenty of places to eat, and food is available 24/7. We used the beach restaurant once and enjoyed it, great service, although a limited menu. We also used the snack bar near the pool, which had great pizza and again, great service.
The entertainment was really enjoyable. We don’t take part in any daytime activities but there were lots of other guests taking part. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment, there was a mix of performances and parties on the beach. We particularly enjoyed the foam party, especially the fireworks!
Our holiday has been wonderful and we would absolutely stay here again!
The Best Vacation for Family
We just spent our family vacation at Selectum Family Resort in Belek and had such an amazing time! Seriously, everything from the big, clean rooms to the awesome food, beautiful pools, and great entertainment was even better than we expected. It's really a paradise for families. But what really made our stay special and unforgettable was the incredible service from Ana in Guest Relations. From the second we got there, Ana went out of her way to make sure we felt welcome and looked after. She's super professional, warm, incredibly attentive, and always greets everyone with a real smile. Thanks, Ana, and the whole Selectum team, for making our holiday so special. We're already stoked to come back!
Second visit, but unfortunately my last
A few days ago, we returned from this hotel after spending one week there with my husband and our 18-month-old son. Overall, we had a good holiday and most things went well, but unfortunately, I have two important complaints.
The first one is about the children’s kitchen. There were small fruit yogurts available for children, with 6 pieces in each set, and they were really very small. My son would only eat those, so one morning I took two sets of 6 pieces to have enough for him throughout the day. A manager came out and reprimanded the employee, telling her not to give out so many because “we will go bankrupt,” and so on.
Honestly, I found the use of the word “bankrupt” over 6 small yogurts absolutely absurd. I was simply speechless. Especially considering that there was very little variety in the children’s kitchen — only about three options, and they were the same every single day. I really don’t understand why taking 12 tiny yogurts for a child was treated as such a serious issue.
My second complaint is about our check-out day. I asked if we could pay for a room for a short period so that we could take a shower and rest before leaving, especially because we were travelling with a small child. The receptionist, Ibrahim, told me that the hotel does not offer this option because once guests check out, there is nobody to clean the room afterward. I told him that I had stayed at this hotel four years ago and had paid for a room after check-out, but he immediately interrupted me and kept saying, “No, no,” without even letting me explain.
I completely understand that the hotel has its own policies, and I respect that. However, the way some of the staff members, especially the managers wearing the red shirts, communicate with guests could be much more polite and respectful. Unfortunately, I found their attitude quite arrogant on several occasions.
This was my second stay at this hotel, but unfortunately, it will also be my last. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because the hotel itself has many good things, but the way guests are spoken to can really affect the overall experience\
A Wonderful Family Holiday
We had a wonderful holiday! The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature, with lots of greenery and a very relaxing atmosphere. We stayed in a Nature room with our child and felt very comfortable throughout our stay. The food was delicious and varied, and the entire staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. A special thank you to Ms. Ana from Guest Relations. She was always kind, professional, attentive, and ready to help us whenever we needed anything. Her care and positive attitude made our stay even more enjoyable. Everything was wonderful, and we are leaving with very good memories. We would definitely be happy to come back and highly recommend this hotel!l
Not a five-star experience
The property is situated on the banks of a river, and the surrounding nature is truly beautiful. It really feels like heaven when you are outside in the garden areas, and especially at the beach. Unfortunately, these are about the only positive things this place has to offer.
The building itself is dated and seems to have lost all of its charm decades ago. The lobby is dark and dusty, with old carpets in the corridors and old-fashioned chairs and tables in the restaurant. The balconies clearly haven’t been properly cleaned in a long time. The bathrooms are also very old-fashioned and not particularly well maintained.
If you are expecting to be entertained by the animation team, don’t. They are barely noticeable. The food is boring and repetitive, with almost the same dishes being served every day.
I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel, especially if you are expecting a modern, well-maintained resort with good service and a decent variety of food.
