Papillon Ayscha 5-Star Resort, Belek – A Disappointing Stay We chose Papillon Ayscha based on its reputation as one of the top-rated hotels in Belek. Drawn in by this, we arrived at the end of July and were left extremely disappointed. This was our 6th vacation in Turkey, so we're not first-timers easily impressed by a "5-star" label or an all-inclusive system. We have a solid basis for comparison with other similar hotels in the country, which makes the disappointment even more evident. The hotel has a large accommodation capacity packed into a relatively small footprint. The green spaces, pools, and beach all feel crowded and cramped — there's no sense of privacy, quiet, or relaxation to be found anywhere. The beach is overcrowded: under the large umbrellas, about 6 sunbeds are crammed together, leaving barely any room to walk between them. By as early as 7 PM, most are already occupied or reserved with towels. The beach itself is narrow, squeezed between two piers, which does nothing to encourage relaxation. Out of the entire beach, only 70 spots are designated as an "18+" adults-only area, while the rest — around 500 sunbeds — are in the general zone, which is extremely crowded. But even in the adults-only section, the rules aren't enforced — during the day, you basically have to play beach police yourself, since families with 2-3 young children simply sit there because they can, with no hotel staff stepping in to stop it. So in practice, even the 70 "adults only" spots end up being used as a playground for kids — the whole "18+" concept is basically a joke, since nobody enforces it and nobody cares. I never once saw any staff member come down to the beach to check on things or make sure the rules were being followed. Everyone seems to think the rules simply don't apply to them. Everything feels designed to maximize revenue, with limited comfort for guests overall. The pools are no exception — far too small for the large number of tourists staying at the resort. As for the food, nothing stood out or impressed us — disappointing for a supposed 5-star property. We didn't come across a single memorable specialty. The main restaurant is indoors, and if you want grilled dishes or other more special options, you have to step outside to a separate area. Overall, this hotel doesn't live up to its 5-star reputation or marketing. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, high-quality experience.
Amazing hotel! Great staff and Merey’s brilliant football training. The food in the buffet was delicious 🤤. Great hotel for kids and adults of all ages!
Unfortunately my experience of this hotel wasn’t a good one. I do not like leaving bad reviews but as our concerns and complaints were handled so poorly here we go.
On first impression this hotel is perfect beautiful grounds and pool areas, good selection of food and drinks and good entertainment.
However I stayed in a select ground floor villa and noticed there were lots of ants around the pool sunbeds and villas. 3 days into my stay I started to find ants in my bed and noticed they were coming through gaps in the corners of the bedroom.
The next day we were changed to a top floor villa when it became available. Again this room had ants but this time they were in the living area around the fridge and sink. The toilet flush was broken the electrical fuse board was exposed in the wardrobe (disaster waiting to happen) To top it off there was a cockroach in the room and when we asked guests relations for some repellent/ pesticide we were told to go and buy some.
I feel as a family we made the best of a very bad situation to make the holiday bareable for the children’s sake but this is not what i expected my 5 star holiday to be like. In comparison to other 5 star hotels in turkey this hotel is very lacking.
If you want an overpriced 3 start hotel with bad customer service and don’t mind sleeping with ants and cockroaches then this hotel is for you.
On a positive note the bar, restaurant and cleaning staff were lovely, food was nice with plenty of choice.
The rooms were comfortable, the hotel was clean, the food was fresh, and the kids’ club was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.
