Review: 30/08 – 05/09 | 2 adults & 1 seven-year-old
We’ve just returned from a 1-week stay at Ela Excellence Resort Belek and I wanted to share our honest experience to help anyone else considering the hotel.
We flew into Antalya Airport and had a shared coach transfer as part of our TUI package, which took around 45 minutes to get to the hotel.
🛏️ Room
We stayed in a Main Building Superior Double Room with Garden View and Balcony.
The room was a really good size for the three of us. It had a large double bed, a pull-out single bed and a separate sofa, so we had plenty of space.
The balcony had two chairs, a table and a clothes airer, which was useful. The bathroom had a double shower and a spacious sink area. There was also a double wardrobe with a steamer inside, plus a safe.
The mini fridge was stocked with fizzy drinks, juices and water and was restocked daily.
We didn’t spend a huge amount of time in the room, so overall we were really happy with it.
🍽️ Dining
The main buffet had a wide selection of food, although I didn’t notice the themed nights that I’ve seen at some other hotels.
There was always a good selection of fruit and salad, as well as soups and breads. I found there was quite a lot of fish compared with meat, and surprisingly, I only saw chicken nuggets available for the kids on 2 out of the 7 nights we were there.
There was always plain spaghetti available, but personally I didn’t think there was a huge amount of choice for children. There is also a restaurant within the kids’ club, which we didn’t try, so there may have been more options available there.
Ela Anatolian was open 24/7 and had a menu you could order from. It was sometimes nice to come here instead of the buffet as it felt more like having an actual meal out. The food was pleasant and the service was good.
We also booked Akari Teppanyaki for my birthday and this definitely didn’t disappoint! I’d highly recommend it. The chef was really funny and engaging and the food was delicious.
We visited Galata Beach Club, which is 12+, for lunch one day and both my husband and I really enjoyed it. The sushi was lovely, there was a DJ playing music in the background and the food overall was really nice.
Side note for the girls: make sure you have a bikini cover-up with you as they won’t let you in without one!
There are also two patisseries where you can grab croissants, cakes and ice cream. These were open from 10am–11pm daily and were a nice little addition. There’s also a coffee shop on site.
👩🍳 Service & Staffing
We found the service to be mostly great.
The buffet could sometimes be quite slow when it came to clearing tables and ordering drinks, but we were there during a busy period, so I wouldn’t say this was a huge issue.
🌴 Facilities & Grounds
The hotel grounds were really pretty, spacious and well maintained.
There’s a koi pond next to the buffet which my son absolutely loved!
The pools are a mix of salt water and chlorine and range from around 120cm–140cm in depth.
👦 Kids’ Facilities
There’s a smaller kids’ water park with two slides and a splash pad, as well as two shallow pools for younger children, one of which is shaded.
There are also around 5–6 bigger slides that you can go down either alone or as a pair, with a 120cm height requirement. My 7-year-old absolutely loved these!
The slides only operate during certain hours of the day and are manned by lifeguards.
There’s also an arcade room which says 12+, but we were able to use it. There were a couple of arcade games and PlayStations.
⭐ Kids’ Club
The kids’ club was by far the best we’ve visited.
I always feel slightly nervous about leaving my son at kids’ clubs, but I felt much more comfortable here. You fill out a form with your contact details so they can call or WhatsApp you if your child wants to leave.
They also give the children a GPS wristband which will buzz if they try to leave and can be used to locate which room they’re in when you come to collect them.
The facilities were really good, with a mini soft play, arts and crafts room, Lego room, cinema and PlayStation rooms. There’s also an outdoor playground and mini role-play stations.
They had planned activities throughout the day and, on the few occasions my son went, he really enjoyed himself.
🎭 Entertainment
For me, this is where I felt slightly disappointed.
The hotel has some really good spaces and I feel like they could make much more of them by bringing in some really talented performers and putting on some great shows.
The acts we saw felt a little dated in terms of the theatrics. That being said, we really enjoyed the circus show and Vortex, and the performers in both were great.
There was usually a singer at the bar every evening, with a mixture of English and Turkish singers.
They also had a Saturday night party with a DJ, dancers and a fire dancer, but unfortunately I found this a little lacklustre.
I’m not sure this is the hotel I’d recommend if you really enjoy high-energy performances and evening entertainment/nightlife that is still family-friendly.
We stayed at Anda Barut last year and, so far, we haven’t found anything that has topped the entertainment there.
During the day, there also wasn’t a huge amount going on around the pool. There was water polo, darts etc., but personally I would have loved some pool music or a bit more atmosphere.

❤️ Final Thoughts
For a relaxing week away, we really enjoyed our stay.
It actually wasn’t the hotel we originally booked, as the hotel we had chosen had its opening delayed, so we ended up here instead.
There were definitely things we loved — the kids’ club was fantastic, the grounds were beautiful, the pools were spacious, the drinks were nice and overall it was a really relaxing place to spend a week.
However, for the price we paid, I personally wouldn’t return.
We may have paid more because it was a last-minute booking, so I do think that could have influenced how I felt about the value for money. But for the same sort of price, I feel I could find another hotel that either included more à la carte restaurants or had better daytime and evening entertainment that suited our family more.
So overall, I’d say Ela Excellence is a lovely hotel, particularly for families who prioritise relaxation, facilities and an excellent kids’ club — but for us, the entertainment and overall value for money meant it didn’t quite live up to what we were looking for.
We are very satisfied with all the services. Thank you for your hospitality and excellent service! 😊
Amazing hotel! Our friends, who are top YouTube families, have been to ELA a few times and recommended this hotel for our vacation. We had an excellent experience in every part of the hotel. We enjoyed the beautiful nature, fancy restaurants with shows, and plenty of entertainment for kids. And of course, we created many funny videos for YouTube and TikTok at ELA Excellence Resort Belek.
You cannot fail to have a great holiday at this hotel, unless you are being extremely picky or are naturally miserable.
The hotel itself is beautiful, the pools and the beach area are great and the grounds are very green and manicured.
The standard all inclusive buffet is extensive and impressive. Again, if you fail to find something to enjoy, there must be something wrong with you. Like any all inclusive buffet after a few days you might want a change and there are an abundance of à la carte restaurants in o choose from. Lots of availability and an easy booking system. These are at an additional cost. The fruit station and patisserie were very handy for snacks throughout the day. Ice creams and drinks are every where. Great for the kids!
The staff were very helpful and not overly intrusive.
Please take all pool items with you unless you are the favourite granddaughter of a Russian oligarch. I went to buy 2 pairs of goggles from the hotel shop and they were going to charge me 260 euros! My children have now adapted to swimming with their eyes open. I’m told their chlorine burns will subside in a few weeks.
If we wanted another holiday where relaxation, great food and pool time with the kids was paramount we would definitely return.
