Villa Sonata

Well when you get up cardiac hill it gets no better I stayed for one week never again and I’ve read a lot of reviews about this hotel and I convinced myself it was a different hotel but the hill gave it away and the 150 steps round the back of the hotel. Rooms very poor and had a very musty smell .kitchen rusty equipment so never touched,beds am glad we had towels for sunbed which we never used and used them on the beds , cleaners I saw them having a smoke but never came to our room but they do have a tip box in the room so I never used that , when I opened the wardrobe the blanket could of walked out by its self both me and my sister got bit a lot we have been to alanya many time and never been bitten, what I don’t like more than ever is the fact that the pictures of this villa is absolutely nothing like where we stayed I personally would only give it one

We booked a two bedroom room which stated it had two separate bedrooms. This was not the case as it was two sofas hard as a rock in the kitchen/living area. There was also only air con in the bedroom meaning four of us had to stay in the one room with one on the floor. We asked to have another smaller room with air con and they said there was non however online you could book rooms. The all inclusive package is not all inclusive it’s specific menu items and does not include cocktails. The staff didn’t seem to have any idea on how to help us with anything and also were flirting despite attempts to stop it. There is a very steep hill which suitcases where not fun to take up or down it is almost vertical. There is also the option of stairs through the back of the hotel. Wouldn’t recommend for groups of people especially younger girls.

I’m going to share an honest review of this lovely little hotel and its wonderful staff. The Villa Sonata is not advertised as a 5 Star Hotel so do not expect 5 Star surroundings. What you do get is a small hotel, with the facilities and staff. you need to have a lovely time here in Alanya. Like all things in life there are positives and negatives. Before arriving at the hotel I WhatsApped the owner Suzan with a small personal request for information and asking for the possibility of a small service before our arrival , scheduled for the early hours of the morning. Suzan’s response was not only prompt and reassuring , it came complete with a short video of the room we were to be based in. We are still here at the moment and have found all the staff here equally as keen to please us . First there is Semih, who seems to be involved in just about everything. From greeting us when we arrived and helping us to our room and being there daily at breakfast with a smile and eager to help with the breakfast order. Then there is Mintaze, the lady who works tirelessly in the kitchen at breakfast. Little to no English but again ever willing to help. An example being when we were setting off early for an excursion prior to breakfast hours Semih explained and Mintaze produced a packed breakfast for us within a minutes notice. Next there is Huseyin , the young bar tender, who also doubles up as a waiter at breakfast when needed. Always a smile and a friendly word. There is a spa and massage service supplied at an extra cost as you would expect by a lovely lady called Sevgi .My wife Ann has enjoyed a couple of the treatments. I have read reviews stating there are only paper cups at breakfast. We have not found this to be the case. Glass mugs for tea and coffee are provided and there are paper cups which we assume are for water and fruit juices supplied from a machine. If your package includes breakfast the buffet is more than adequate with a variety of fresh meat, cheese, vegetables, olives, fries, hard boiled eggs and breads,Together with butter, jam, honey and a chocolate spread all of which are served in pre packed portions. There sre also fried eggs or a selection of omelettes cooked fresh to order. Yes the hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill, so not really suitable for guests with mobility problems. Yes it is an older hotel where a lick of paint here or there may be needed. Our room was clean, with a shower, sink and toilet all of which worked perfectly. We had a continual supply of hot water whenever we needed it. There is also a lovely little pool and we were always able to get a sunbed. Our honest opinion is we got very good value for money but if you think you can live a Champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget you’re wrong. Suzan you and your staff are a credit to the hotel.
