Not as per Jan V review
Currently here and was a little concerned due to the review and photos left by Jan V but wanted to put the truth here in case others were worried. We arrived late yesterday afternoon and I'm currently soaking up the sun on a lovely terrace. Photos are current from today 10/05/2025

Room for improvement… Not like it used to be
Honestly, we were looking forward to stay at Kaptan since we had such a great time a few years back. It was a great hotel back then. WAS. However, this time around it was less than pleasant. The hotelroom’s minibar on the entirely of the 4th floor was out of order. They tried to switch the fridge but to no use. In the Alanya heat the fridge is very essential. We had to use the waitstaff almost 4 x day to get ice and COLD water. At a certain point they started to become much slower at bringing the ice and water. 45 minute wait is crazy. For COLD water. On top of that the roomservice operators were mad rude. You could barely muster out what you wanted before they would hit you with “okay.” and hang up on you.
I give them 2 stars purely because of the location and the pool. We will give them the benefit of the doubt and say we perhaps came at a wrong time for the hotel. We will try again next year and hopefully they have straightened it up by then. I will keep you updated.
Hotel room
I stayed at Hotel Kaptan, Turkey, arriving late at night. When booking, I reserved a room with a balcony facing the pool. However, upon arrival, I was given a room on the second floor without a balcony. Instead, there was a solid wall with only a very small window (approximately 50×30 cm). The room felt extremely claustrophobic, with little air circulation, and the outside temperature was around 36°C or higher. It felt like being locked in a cell. When I went to the reception to request a room change, I was shocked by their response. The staff told me that there were no available rooms and claimed that I had booked this type of room. I tried to explain that my booking clearly stated a balcony with a pool view, and I have never even seen such a room being offered before. Later, the staff informed me that in order to change to a proper room, I would need to pay an additional 350 TRY per night. Since I had no other choice, I paid, and only then was I moved to another room. Furthermore, I had booked breakfast included, but the food was of very poor quality, with no variety or proper selection. This was very disappointing and not at all what was promised. Overall, my holiday was ruined from the very first day due to these issues. Additionally, I would like to point out that hotel guides sell excursions at double the normal price. I strongly advise other guests not to buy tours from the hotel guides but to look elsewhere for fair offers.
Outstanding experience to feel like a VIP
Very friendly and helpful staff. The reception will take care of parking your car and even arrange for it to be washed and cleaned inside. Daily room cleaning, good breakfasts, and a great location. The service makes you feel like a VIP, and it's a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend it.
Great stay
I’ve had an amazing stay at the Kaptan hotel this is my second time coming it is a pleasant, clean, and nice hotel in a great location making everything easier to get to.
All the reception staff is fantastic, cleaners, breakfast staff, and bar staff and great manager.
This is my second time staying and I will definitely come again.
