Kaila Beach Hotel

The location is brilliant,atmosphere and staff are lovely,was disappointed I paid for a double room but we had 2 single beds they couldn't change it.we tried booking the a la cart meal from the first day but kept getting told to come back only to be told they are fully booked not happy about that. We have been given a free photo shoot from our friends who won it at bingo but they couldnt be fit in but again am told he can fit in for a full photo shoot in which we can pay for a full album but not to have a free photo.

The staff here are absolutely lovely and friendly, food is amazing our cleaner is lovely

Unfortunately, our current experience with this hotel has given us a lot more cons than pros. It is definitely not a 5 star hotel, more of a 3 star.

Me and my family are staying here for a week and at first we found it to be really good, for example the hotel buffet, we always managed to find something to eat and i am the most pickiest eater, the staff at the main snack bar are all lovely and food came quick and hot and check in was very easy.

I’ll start with the cons then the pros.

The worst con of the trip - We had booked a day trip to swim in a lake, foam party and holding lion cubs that was promoted by the hotel as we had booked it with the hotels rep. DO NOT BOOK THIS ACTIVITY. The foam party, swimming in the lake, boat trip and water gun fight was extremely fun and a memory we will cherish however the zoo experience and holding the cubs was absolutely heartbreaking. It was clear that the zoo abuses all animals. This is clear because when we entered in the cage to hold the lion cubs, it was obvious the cubs were drugged as they couldn’t walk straight nor stand up good on their own. We saw staff members hit the cubs and pinch their noses and they all looked underfed and so sad. We then saw older cubs which you can pay to feed but if no one pays to feed them, they don’t get fed. I know this as when speaking with one of the tour leaders of the trip, he confirmed this. We saw wolves that were so skinny they looked like dogs and also saw dead doves mixed in with alive doves. The older lions themselves looked extremely underweight and we left our trip feeling extremely heartbroken. Their were also brown bears that looked drugged and had their noses pressed to the fence, completely out of it. The hotel should not be supporting this zoo nor promoting it as it is not a good image and shouldn’t be something you’d want to be associated with. It seems like the hotel is okay with animal abuse. We have also relayed this feedback on to the rep of the hotel who we booked this with. (At the time we was informed the rep (Mahsun) was a love holidays rep, which we believed and trusted that the excursion would be good as love holidays is well known) but later found out after speaking with love holidays, they did not have any reps that were at hotels/resorts and was only online so that means the hotel rep lied to us which is extremely unprofessional and misleading.

The second negative experience we have had is with getting towels. We get two cards upon arrival to get towels from the hotel but multiple days we have arrived at 10 and have been told to come back multiple times and then finally told that they’ve run out. We had another issue with booking the à la carte restaurant. We tried to book it the day after arrival and were told to come back tomorrow to book it. This has happened for four days straight and we had tried to book it so we had given plenty of notice yet now they have said they are fully booked and we should have given 6 days notice, when we had tried too but had been told to keep coming back. Now we will not get to experience this so this has added another negative experience to our trip.

Third negative experience- One night we had woken up to a huge bang around 3am which sounded like it was coming outside. We opened our balcony door and it seemed that the air conditioning unit had something go wrong with it? It had this strong smell of burning so we shut the door and phoned reception, the noise was so loud we could not just ignore it and sleep. Reception had answered and said they was aware there was a issue and that they was dealing with it. That’s all. Then 30 minutes later the sound stopped but we had noticed that other rooms had also had this issue.

The last negative experience we have had so far is with our bathroom. We have this disgusting drainage smell in the bathroom which is so bad it makes us physically gag, we have tried to go to reception and they said they would send someone at 5 yet no one turned up. It’s gotten to the point we are so far in to our trip, it’s absolutely useless to pack up again and move if told to do so by the hotel. The room is 1109 so I’d definitely be cautious if you get that room.

The positive experiences we have is the staff members, the buffet food and the pools. Never had an issue getting sun beds. The beds were comfy in our rooms and was good to have aircon on hot days. There’s also a mini fridge so nice to have water on hand. Rooms are very spacious and multiple pools!They have a deal with the steakhouse restaurant next door which gives you 10% off so we had that one night and was super tasty, would recommend that! The hotel has a little tunnel that you can walk through to take you to the sea which is nice and they have plenty of stores you can purchases necessities from inside the hotel as well as outside. The hotel is also situated in a good location too.

Entertainment was fun and the entertainment staff looked like they really did enjoyed what they were doing. They got everyone of all ages involved. Shoutout to Irem and suleyman.

Would also recommend the professional pics you can have taken with the gentleman in reception.

Did not try the spa so cannot comment on that.

Overall, we will not be returning as we feel as though we have been mislead with the ratings and unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good. You could definitely find a better hotel/resort for the same price.

I have attached photos of the love holidays sign the hotels rep was using to state that he worked for love holidays, the excursion to see baby lion cubs (a zoo which abuses its animals) and the main pool which was absolutely perfect. No complains for any of the pools.

Having spent a fab ten days here, we have already booked our fourth visit for March next year. All of the staff are friendly and very welcoming. It was lovely knowing that some staff remembered my partner and I. The food was simply amazing. You would have to be really fussy, not to find something to eat. One negative comment is that in the Dolphin Snack bar I think there should be a designated area for smokers. I found it quite unpleasant that ashtrays were actually on the tables. Being asthmatic, this was of real concern to me. Perhaps Management could think about this. However, we are looking forward to returning in March for ten days. The Hotel is located close to shops and the twice weekly market.
