Relaxed value holiday in the sun
Hotel good standard. Large bedrooms double balcony air con and fridge. Food ok but as usual when AI food fairly bland, lukewarm at times and repetitive. That said always lots of choices and always something to eat. Good desserts. Beer and wine with lunch and dinner. Pool area small for size of hotel but lots of sunbeds although placed very close together. Upstairs sun terraces could be better used with more sunbeds and self-serve drinks. Even a rooftop cocktail bar for adults only? Entertainment. Star of our stay was Linda who said she was 31 but sure she was younger x. Lots of enthusiasm for young and old. Also ran pool activities during the day. A credit to the hotel. Area. If you want choices then not many but you have choices and ultimately Las Americas is an hour away on the local buses which run until late. Overall too quiet for us but great value for money AI week in the sun. Thank you
Our trip
On the whole you really can’t complain for what you get here. We went in summer holidays so was a little expensive however it was very chilled more couples than kids at the hotel so was quite relaxed.
Initially I was worried about the pool and sunbed area as it looked very small on pictures. However this is the first hotel I’ve been to where there isn’t sunbed wars no matter what time of the day you go there was always sunbeds free as well as this the pool is a lot bigger in real life than the pictures.
The food wasn’t great but at an all inclusive you can’t really expect gourmet meals. The drinks were pretty basic but did the job. Could be tricky at times to find someone at the pool bar to serve however other than that wasn’t really an issue.
Also the toilets at the pool need some attention they are very dangerous. They do not lock and the toilet is not attached to the floor as well at this the toilet holder will fall and hit you I’ve learned this😭
The drains absolutely stinks at first it wasn’t an issue and never noticed it. However the last few days of the holiday the sink had a horrid smell to it making me feel sick. Rooms were pretty basic we had a good sea view very spacious the bathrooms could do with an upgrade but overall couldn’t really moan.
Staff all seemed lovely and helped when needed. Around the hotel there isn’t much so if you want to do stuff maybe look elsewhere. There a a few restaurants, shops and a couple bars but nothing much. I looked to book a trip but couldn’t find any with pickups and the taxis and Ubers are very expensive. There s a beach however as it’s black sand it gets very hot so take sand shoes or it will burn your feet !! Overall if you want a chill holiday this is a good place to come.
Nice hotel ideally placed 5 days half board stay
We had only booked a 5 day stay....we had upgraded to a sea view.... a great decision imo, A/C was free but a charge for security safe. The hotel is very clean and staff are helpful and we never encountered any issues. Naria on the check-in desk was very helpful whenever we needed anything, also on the bar in the piano room / entertainment room Laura and Abril were very good at keeping the drinks coming Mojito's, Daiquiri's and anything else required. The onsite entertainment was displayed daily on a screen in reception. The restaurant staff are always there to assist if needed , the food was always of a good standard imo there is always something to fill your plate . Breakfast was continental , cereals or juice / coffee or hot bacon,beans,eggs fried or scrambled, hash browns and churros Salads, meats , cheeses, fish, chicken , lamb beef and pork were on offer over the 5 days we stayed. The sun terrace was great and the pool area was never too overly busy when we were there . (Opens at 10am)
Disappointing
The hotel is clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom need upgrading, cracked tiles, the flush mechanism came off in my hand. The shower mechanism also broken. The food is extremely bland and uninspiring. Also they start putting it out an hour before the dining room opens. I suspect this is what made me quite poorly. Probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. You have to pay a deposit for towels, a deposit for plastic drinks beakers, a deposit for the safe on top of a fee for the safe. Gym equipment wasn't working.
How is this a four star hotel? No wonder everyone looks miserable.
Honestly, I am so annoyed with this hotel. How is this a four-star hotel? I genuinely don’t understand.
The hotel offers food three times a day — breakfast, lunch and dinner — and I can truly say this is the worst food I have ever tasted. I have literally spat out my food at every meal because it is that disgusting. There is absolutely no seasoning and no flavour. I honestly feel like prison food would be a luxury compared to this.
My boyfriend had a croissant for breakfast that was rock hard and solid. He literally tapped it with a spoon and it wouldn’t even cave in. He then pushed his fork into it and it snapped — we actually heard a SNAP noise. How is that acceptable?
The only good thing about the food is the desserts, but how do you expect me to eat desserts for my breakfast, lunch AND dinner? 😂
We paid for all-inclusive at a four-star hotel, yet we have had to go out and buy dinner every single night because I simply cannot stand going without having at least one nice meal a day. What is the point of paying for all-inclusive if you cannot actually eat the food?
🛁 The bathroom
The bathroom is extremely disappointing. It is genuinely one of the worst hotel bathrooms I have ever stayed in.
The bath is ridiculously tiny. I am tiny myself, so it doesn’t really matter for me, but my boyfriend is a completely normal-sized person and he nearly slipped in the bath about four times because of how tiny it is. And he isn’t even a big person. The bath is just that small and awkward to use.
The showerhead looks like it came from the 1970s. Everything about the bathroom feels outdated and uncomfortable.
🏨 Overall hotel
Everything is outdated and dirty. Even the facilities around the hotel look like they have been left to disintegrate. For example, the ping-pong table has literally disintegrated. These are basic things that should be maintained in a four-star hotel.
The staff are a mixed experience. Some have been miserable and unhelpful, but I will say the reception staff have been amazing and helpful, and I really cannot fault them. They have been one of the only genuinely positive things about our stay.
I genuinely cannot understand how this hotel has a four-star rating. We paid for a four-star all-inclusive experience and that is absolutely not what we have received.
I have stayed in much cheaper hotels that have been significantly better than this. The food alone has completely ruined the all-inclusive experience for us, and having to spend extra money every night to go elsewhere for food is ridiculous.
Very disappointing and definitely not what I expected from a four-star hotel.
