TRH Taoro Garden Hotel

If you like peace and quiet, a relaxed atmosphere, good food, lovely staff, a brilliant pool and comfort, this is the place to be. We can't fault anything. July is low season and therefore it was probably quieter than in winter. I was here with my mother-in-law, who uses a rollator. Everything was accessible. Gradual steps into the pool with a handrail to hold on to was for us one of the main reason for booking this hotel. The place was also very, very clean. If you like big parties in the evening, this is not the place to be. The customers were a mix of many different nationalities and ages. This hotel was worth every penny. Would I return? Oh yeah, in a heartbeat.

The hotel and rooms were spotless and the rooms were a decent size.

This place had a very chilled, tranquil vibe so it wouldnt suit those who want a lively hotel. Most guests I'd say were 30+.

There was good a mixture of english, german and spanish here on our visit. The weekend was noticably busier.

Food was decent and always enough on, I'd say a little above average for a 4 star. I went half-board. The only downside to our stay really was there was that there was no free drinks available during lunch or dinner. Instead they wanted to charge for any drinks (even water) to have at our table. We did try taking our own small bottle of water into the restuarant one day to have with our meal, but was told this wasnt allowed. So we found this a little annoying.

The staff here though were probably the friendliest, nicest staff I've ever seen at a hotel. They're a real credit to this place.

It's a good 20 min walk down to Peurto del la cruz. All downhill. There is also a free shuttle bus if needed. Which is limited on Saturdays (upto lunchtime) and no service Sunday. However taxi's are only 5 euros back.

Deffo would come back. The city is amazing and there's plently to see and do.

We had a very relaxing two week stay at Taoro Garden, Puerto de la Cruz, in July. The best thing about this hotel has to be it's wonderful staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The kitchen and waiting staff work so hard, always with a smile and time for a friendly chat. I celebrated my birthday whilst there and the bottle of Cava in the room was a lovely touch - thank you.

The weather was hotter than expected, even for the locals, so the swimming pool was a very welcome temperature being unheated. The sun loungers are comfortable and you can get a good selection of drinks and snacks from the pool bar.

The dining room served a good selection of fresh and cooked foods, with cheeses and many desserts for afters.

Our room was spacious and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was dated, with a wooden floor which wasn't ideal for getting wet. We also didn't like the shower over the bathtub. We're both in our 60s and, whilst we're very fit, nowadays a walk in shower is preferable.

We had a wonderful view of Mount Teide and the pool from our balcony. I think this is a better view than the sea to be honest so don't think I would have wanted to pay for the upgrade to sea view. We also had sun all afternoon and evening on the balcony.

We took the public bus to Silos to swim in the natural pools, and to La Laguna for their annual festival which was absolutely amazing. I totally recommend going in mid July just to see this spectacle of ox carts, goat herds and folk dancing parading through the beautiful World Heritage town of La Laguna. We took a couple of guided tours - a hike in Anaga Forest and a trip to Masca, Garachico and Icod. We used Get Your Guide and they were excellent.

We can't think of anything bad to say about this trip, there is a lot to see in the north of Tenerife and normally the weather would be a bit cooler to allow more hiking. The first week we were there the clientele at Taoro Garden were mostly our age or older and it was peaceful round the pool. We did notice in the second week that a lot of young couples arrived and it was considerably noisier, with the usual chatting on mobile phones, jumping in the pool etc which was a bit irritating. The young couple facetiming their friends whilst eating their dinner was a particular annoyance but luckily the signal in the restaurant isn't very strong and they got cut off! Karma.

Overall and excellent place to stay. I have given 4 stars as the bathrooms do need an upgrade.
