This hotel is situated in an open pedestrian street, just a 10-minute walk from the old town and the sea, near a colourful flower market. Tenerife Norte airport is at 23 km distance. This hotel has been managed by the same family for over 75 years, and combines excellent location with home-like hospitality and top-notch services. From the Canarian wooden balconies, to a typical patio, where palm trees and tropical creepers climb up to the glass roof, surrounded on all sides by hand-carved verandas, everything about this hotel invites guests to stay. It has been incorporated a heated pool and a sauna, and in the evening, guests can pair their dinner not only with a nice drink, but with the excitement of a theme night featuring local dancers.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I think it's very good value for money very near everything
Great location Hotel had character Room was very basic / i had a single bed but was very comfy Room clean All Staff very friendly Pool was great with jaccuzzi We bit noise from my room window but never passed 11 Breakfast was always good Would stay again 100_%
My wife and I spent two nights here in May. We arrived early, and were told our room would be ready shortly. We were invited to wait in the attractive atrium which we did and the reception staff came to advise us that the room was ready after about 15 mins. We were given 2 electronic keys to room 41. We were also given breakfast times and the wi-fi code.
We had asked for a quiet room and were surprised to be given a room adjacent to the swimming pool, however as there were few guests staying at the hotel and the pool area was empty we found the room was indeed quiet during our stay.
We noticed that getting to the room would have been difficult for those with mobility issues as there were no lifts to this floor of the hotel.
The room appeared to have been recently painted, was well-presented and had adequate storage and sufficient sockets for charging mobiles etc. Everything looked clean, however having read about bed bug issues we gave the bed a thorough inspection and found no evidence of bugs.
There was no air-con but the ceiling fan operated silently and provided enough air for us as the weather was not particularly hot.
The TV had English language news channels and with a bit of effort, it was possible to access programs on non-english channels into english by using the remote control. The wi-fi worked well in the room.
The bathroom had a bath with overhead shower attachment, vanity basin and toilet. It also had a good shelf for personal items. Small soaps and a wall-mounted shower gel dispenser were available, along with decent towels. The water had to run for a short while to get hot, but remained hot and plentiful once it came through. The balcony had a table and two chairs and a gate which gave access directly to the pool area.
Breakfast was included. Hot items included fried eggs (omelets were available on request), bacon, and churros. One day we also had hot-dog sausages, the other baked beans. There was a small selection of cold cuts, cheese, pastries, cereals, yoghurts, jams and spreads. There were two coffee machines, one toaster, a microwave and a fruit juice machine. The coffee was fine and the juices were of good quality. There was a sign requesting guests not to fill up water bottles (from the fruit juice machine), but no-one was stopped from doing so.
The location of the hotel is very good for Plaza del Charco and the surrounds. The only downfall from our point of view is it's distance from the bus station - if it's raining, it's too far.
I hope you found this review useful.
Great value for money .Very traditional Spanish hotel staff very lovely.Right next to the sea and shops ,restaurants will definitely be back 👌
So disappointed in our recent trip to the Monopol hotel.
We had a room where the bed was hard up against the wall meaning we had to climb over each other to get into bed.
We had no hot water to shower/wash with in the morning.
The corridor lighting was not functioning making it very dark and difficult to locate key pad.
The cost of one night stay was 117 euros making very poor value given the room.
Reception staff could do nothing without Manager's approval and email response from Manager was dismissive.
The hotel is fabulously well located but aspects of it are in need of updating.
