This sublime beach hotel is situated in the popular tourist hub of Puerto de la Cruz. The airport is about 25 minutes’ drive away. The hotel enjoys an idyllic beachside setting opposite Martianez, the popular seawater swimming baths. The complex is nestled amidst gardens, which stretch over 1,500 metres squared, blending effortlessly with its surroundings. Guests can enjoy the sumptuous delights of the buffet-style meals, with exquisite dishes, relax in the outdoor pool area or have a couple of drinks in the bar. Visitors will be impressed by the stylish rooms, which come well equipped with modern amenities and offer the ideal surroundings in which to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
Great hotel the staff make you feel welcome from the reception to the cleaners the owners are lucky to have a great team.rooms clean and comfortable.food is good plenty of choice that would accommodate most people’s needs.location is also great.thanks for a great holiday
Visited for a week in July having visited before but not for a while. It is beautifully situated in the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, a picturesque coastal town. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful although I was surprised not to receive a reply or acknowledgement to the email I sent with a room request. There was entertainment each evening. The pool area and solarium were very nice and relaxing with lots of sunbeds and no need for queuing. The room was cleaned daily and had a large TV with the main English channels. There was a fridge and kettle. We had paid extra to have a balcony..The entire hotel was very clean. The bathroom had an over bath shower as well as a bidet. The WiFi worked well around the pool but was patchy or not working in the room and solarium. We were however disappointed with the restaurant food and menu. It used to be so much better. There was not a great choice and not much variation. Breakfast was better then evening meal. If you wanted to choose meat and vegetables it was very dry as there was only gravy one night in the week which was very surprising. The salads and desserts were the same every day. We will return but hope the food at evening meal improves.
Hotel location is right on the front of a pedestrianised walkway, easy access via a few steps or a ramp. Reception area huge and to be honest, not very awe inspiring by its decor, but don't let that put you off! Rooms offer twin or double beds, large wall mounted t.v. which receives,as well as the usual Spanish and other nationality channels, also gets basic English channels(BBC1/2/4,ITV1/2/3/4,Film 4).Two double wardrobes including shelves, plenty hanging space but no drawers.Great sea facing balcony. Electric kettle, tea, coffee and sugar provided and replenished. Bathroom includes a bidet and a very powerful, easily regulated shower in the bath, liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner included. Rooms cleaned daily, bedsheets changed halfway through the week,bath/hand towels when requested. We had paid a bit extra for a premium double room, which included a balcony with a sea view, safety deposit box, mini fridge(fair size),ceiling fan and air con unit(silent),all included in price of the room. Mealtimes are buffet style,breakfast(7-10),Lunch(1-3) and Dinner(6;30-9;30).We were half board and found all the breakfasts and dinners were varied, catered for everyone and where,by and large, on the whole tasty, Garden area of hotel well tended and one could sit in shade or sunshine around this area. Concert room with bar offered varied shows of an evening, though a few were postponed whilst we were there due to the Football World Cup. Was pleasantly surprised to find beer and wine prices were very reasonable and in most cases cheaper than the bars and restaurants in the vicinity, very unusual for a hotel! Also spirits and cocktails available, but as my wife and I don't drink these, can't comment. Pool area is enclosed, plenty of loungers and parasols around, lifeguard on duty during pool hours, poolside bar for drinks, snacks, ice creams etc.. Although at first sight the area doesn't look big enough for the size of the hotel,it is! A solarium to just sunbathe on is situated on a balcony one floor up an exterior staircase, Hotel other atributes include a gym and an outdoor recreation area with a giant "connect 4 game, ring toss, table tennis, chessboard and pieces amongst other "games". Major criticism is that the hotel has 3 public elevators and especially during mealtimes, morning and evening, you can be waiting a while to access a lift! Review over, can honestly say that next time on this side of the Island,I would book here again....think it's a gem.
Very welcoming staff, very accommodating to ourselves very good facilities. Food large selection something for everyone even me who's lactose intolerant. Our room was a sea view room large balcony with sunbeds. Fridge in room large TV. Can't fault this hotel. Would definitely return.
The hotel was tired and dated in need of refurbishment but the beds were comfy and clean, the rooms cleaned daily. The staff were very helpful and friendly. My daughter and I stayed for 5 nights bed and breakfast. The breakfast was excellent, the choice amazing. The hotel is in an excellent position for restaurants, bars, the beautiful salt water pools complex. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would love to go back.Well done Hotel Catalonia Las Vegas
