The airport is about 25 minutes’ drive away. The buffet restaurant offers delicious food along with a wonderful atmosphere. To rest and relax, there is the magnificent spa and wellness area. Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We're do i even start... On arrival we couldn't check in so had to get changed into our swim stuff and put our belongings in luggage storage which isn't a problem... we then headed out to the pool which looks nothing like the photos provided, the tiles round the pool was loose and cracked, chicken poop everywhere along with wild chicken that literally jumped on the sun bed to steal your food.... we went for lunch at half 1 and the food was basic, and no good for picky eaters, my 12 year old with autism combined with adhd hated the food and hardly ate a thing. When we finally got our rooms, I was presently surprised with mine as had the themed room which was lovely but was shocked to realised no kettle or tea/ coffee making facilities in there 🤔. My friend got put in a standard double room which was tiny and on the 4th floor she had a small double bed and was expected to share with her daughter, shes also disabled... I requested rooms together and on low floor for this reason, when we spoke to reception they wanted money off us to change her room and was very rude.. this upset her daughter and her which ruined the first day of the holiday. But we agreed there wasn't much we can do so to make the most of it we spent most of the time out of the hotel... it is very hilly though so be prepared to climb lots of hills and go down lots of hills to get to the town center. Victor is one of the reps, such a lovely guy and fantastic with the children so if you do go to this hotel make sure you look out for him, he makes everyone feel so welcome. The evening meals was rubbish, alot of it was under cooked and hardly any option. The sausages at breakfast state they are English sausages but didn't look liked they had even seen a bit of sausage meat.. would not recommend this hotel. It need alot of work doing to it. If it got renovated and a whole new look to it and food improved I would go. Photos are very deceiving.
Very dated rooms within hotel with damaged tiles and weeds on balconcies and our room had a rubbish view of waste land, we were at the rear. The shower was over the bath but the valve to adjust tap from bath to shower didnt work so poor shower experience. The reception area was acceptable and pool area okay . Everything was clean and the staff work hard to make hotel presentable. However The hotel is large and appears to be in managed decline. On positive side breakfast was good and the hotel is located in a quiet residential area but not too far from supermarkets , restaurants etc. Its very hilly and we used taxis to get to beach 6euro.
nce we arrived on Tuesday night from the main entrance it was a massive water leak over the pavement yellow signs were on place, and blue beach towel put where the water was, that situation remain the same for days. At the check in time we asked if we could have park the car on the private car park and the receptionist said it would required 30 euro deposit plus 10 euro per day and we must used the park for the whole lents of our stay, fair enough but days after when we asked again another receptionist said we should have been able to used it only up to 3 days …let’s say that communication is not the strong point of this company, not Even to mention that no one as ever inform the guest of the imminent refurbishment that was taking place on the exact day our stay was ending, the last couple of days all the staff was very busy on packing staff from the buffet machines to the wine glasses( on Monday we ordered bottle of red wine wich we paid for and only been given water glasses to be drinking the red wines) The rooms were not very clean some mould were easily spotted on the toilet and rooms were full of dust specially under the bed and on the forniture( dressing table) one day the power went off in our room and the maintenance guy come straight away to fixing it and he explained that the problem was the adapter we were using it. On 2026 at list the basics appliances should be ok and safe to be used by all the guest from all over the world I m expecting! On Tuesday 14 we were staying in the hotel and the kids were looking for something to do, when they asked to be able to play mini golf the been told NO because everything was put away because of the refurbishes, obviously we went to complain to reception and they finally got everything they needed to be able to play, but still if you are paying to be there and to use all the services the hotel provides those services should be granted until the end, also been told after lunch some games would be organised for kids but that never happened!
Before booking this hotel, I think it is important to know that there are chickens roaming freely around the pool area. They regularly walk between the sunbeds and come very close to guests while they are sunbathing. Some people may find this charming, but we personally did not enjoy it and found it uncomfortable when trying to relax around the pool. It was a constant presence throughout our stay and is something we feel potential guests should be aware of.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel grounds were well maintained. However, the rooms are quite outdated and could benefit from refurbishment. While they were clean, the furniture and décor felt old and tired.
The swimming pool was also very cold, which made it difficult to enjoy for long periods.
Another thing to consider is the location. The hotel is situated in a very hilly area, with steep roads and paths nearby. This could be difficult for elderly guests, wheelchair users, or anyone with mobility issues.
Overall, the hotel offers reasonable value for money, but the roaming chickens around the pool, dated rooms, cold pool, and steep location are all things worth considering before booking.
I went here august 2025. The pictures definitely look nothing like the hotel, chickens walking around the pool, dated rooms and the staff are so so so rude apart from the manager. I wouldn’t say this is a 4 star hotel at all. There is a massive queue to get drinks of a night by the time you get your drink the entertainment is over it’s ridiculous and as all inclusive you have to pay for your cup. The food is revolting and there is not much choice. I wouldn’t come to this hotel again. There was cigarettes on the sun lounges and across the floor outside the rooms but apart from that it was clean. However, the view from the balcony of our room had a gorgeous view of the mountains and in a pretty good location not too far away from the town centre of puerto de la cruz although i wouldn’t recommend walking there and back as it is all on a massive hill. But I still wouldn’t say it is 4 star
