Having an amazing location, this beautiful hotel is situated in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. The spectacular volcanic beach of Playa Jardín with its black sand is just a couple of minutes’ walk away. In the surroundings, guests may find many restaurants, cafes and bars, which are perfect to spend a lovely evening having a delicious local meal or some drinks with friends. In the property, visitors can rest and relax by the side of the outdoor swimming pool or have a refreshing swim in it. The gym is a great place where to feel energised and active. The restaurants will receive them with open arms and offer them meals that will please all types of tastes. As well as the whole complex, the rooms have been perfectly decorated to create a cosy atmosphere with a combination of bright and warm tones. They are equipped with comfortable beds and all the essential amenities to have a pleasant stay.
The staff is lovely but the product isn’t It’s certainly no better than 3 star The main problem is the LIFTS There are 3 main ones, 2 have been out of order for months and at times the 3 rd one also doesn’t work
The food is acceptable, but there is no egg station or fresh juice which you expect at a 4 star hotel The fruit was sometimes still frozen
The whole place needs refurbishment ….my bath…No walk in shower..was chipped and there are multiple chipped paint spots
On a positive, the entertainment is very good
We recently stayed at the Be Live Adults Only hotel and, while there were some positives, overall we don't feel it lived up to its 4-star rating.
The room was one of the highlights of our stay. It was large, spacious and comfortable, and I'd definitely recommend paying extra for a balcony if you can. The bathroom was okay and featured a shower-over-bath combination, and having a mini fridge in the room was really useful. The air conditioning worked well throughout our stay, and the Wi-Fi was reliable across the whole hotel.
Breakfast offered a good selection each morning, and there was a gym available for anyone wanting to keep up with their fitness. The hotel is also close to a local beach. We stayed on the first floor and were pleasantly surprised by how little noise we heard from downstairs.
A special mention has to go to Lucia in the restaurant, who was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, welcoming and always went above and beyond to make us feel looked after. The tour advisors were also excellent – knowledgeable, helpful and gave great advice while arranging our transfers and excursions.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few negatives that affected our overall experience. The biggest disappointment was the food. Lunch and dinner were repetitive every day, often only lukewarm or cold, and lacked quality and variety. If you're considering staying here, I'd honestly recommend going self-catering instead.
There also weren't nearly enough sun loungers for the number of guests, despite there being plenty of unused space where more could easily be added. To make matters worse, there is only one relatively small swimming pool for the entire hotel, which quickly becomes crowded during busy periods.
Staff seemed inconsistent with the rules too – for example, I was allowed a toasted sandwich one day but refused one the next with no explanation. On a few occasions, my diabetic boyfriend specifically asked for Coke Zero but was instead served full-sugar Coca-Cola. This could have had serious consequences and is something the hotel needs to take much more seriously.
The in-room safe also comes with an additional daily charge, which feels unnecessary for a hotel advertising itself as four stars. We also found a cockroach in our bathroom despite keeping the balcony doors closed during the day, which was disappointing.
The hotel is around a 20-minute walk from the nearest town, so it's worth bearing this in mind if you like having restaurants, bars or shops nearby.
Entertainment was also very limited, with very little happening during the day, and I'd also avoid being persuaded to book the spa, as we didn't feel it offered good value.
Finally, the transfer from the airport was much longer than expected, so be prepared for a lengthy journey if you're travelling by coach.
Overall, while the rooms and a few members of staff were excellent, there were too many issues for us to consider this a true 4-star hotel. If you do choose to stay here, I'd recommend booking self-catering or eating out as much as possible, and planning plenty of trips and excursions to make the most of your holiday.
Location was good as it’s close to the beach, supermarket and park.
However even with all inclusive food was highly repetitive (pasta at lunch and dinner every day), not much cooked meat options were offered, veggies weren’t fresh (same sweetcorn offered and lunch time was clearly offered again hours later during dinner)
Rooms are very dated, with ripped chairs, flooring has lifted, dust is present and dead bugs were on the floor.
Room cleaning did not involve a change of towels, bathroom mats or bedding despite it being a 7-day trip! This is very unhygienic, and as none of this was done I don’t understand what the cleaners were doing when they came into the room aside from re-spreading the bed.
Bedsheets were very old and cream, need replacing to give a fresh look.
Very loud due to slamming of doors, emergency exit doors/fire escapes being left on the latch/open, drunk guests making noise in the corridors between 10pm-3am, which is not fair.
Also a funny smell in the room, like sewage or drains.
Overall great place
Staff very good and attentive no matter what nationality
Cleanliness - clean and tidy all of the time
Rooms - spacious and comfortable
Food - lots of variety so choice mostly hot enough as replenished regularly
Location - good and relaxing express supermarkets very close by if need anything else
A great break away
Only downsides were a couple of lifts not working yet
Sometimes a bit of an odour from the bathroom
Limited sunbeds and tables on the terrace- but prefer the space between even if have to wait!
I'm so glad I don't read reviews..This Hotel has obviously been refurbished..Hotel staff from Reception to the lovely lady who serviced my room bar staff all excellent and friendly nothing too much trouble..Being half board I found food exactly what I expected buffet style and I found plenty of variety..Never going to please the moaners...Being a Solo lady of a certain age this Hotel was excellent.
