Biggest problem was the room, it was neither a garden or pool view and was tucked away at the side of the building overlooking the aircon and a road. Only accessible via the fire exit and involved a walk past the side exit of the indoor pool, this was sometimes very treacherous with water all over the floor. Aircon was very noisy though this was eventually resolved, additionally the room was not being re-stocked properly and we were constantly at reception requesting extra items. This wasn't even the first room we were shown, the first had a permanently flushing toilet and was again up steps so by the time we had dragged the bags up the stairs we arrived at the bar just after 11pm to be told the all Inclusive drinks were finished ! Food was generally OK, decent variety and some tasty dishes however it was generally just warm, sometimes tepid. On the plus side the location was excellent, a short stroll to the beaches and town centre. Also staff were generally friendly inc bar, reception and cleaning staff (the latter had to clean up the fag ash and ends which were being deposited from a balcony above us). Didn't bother with the entertainment as it was just very loud and really just catered for the French speaking quests (which appeared to be in the majority). Another plus was a decent pool area and no problems getting a decent sun lounger. Also worth pointing out that the place also catered for large school groups though they were well behaved and relatively quiet. Also be aware that not much English is spoken either, though this shouldn't be an issue.
Our stay at the Alua Hotel was lovely. The hotel was very clean, food choice and quality of food was of a high standard and all staff were very helpful.
Unless you are either Spanish or French do not bother coming to this hotel. We traveled with TUI all inclusive as a family of 4 unfortunately the English seem to be pretty much ignored by entertainment staff. As for the all inclusive side once you have entered a restaurant once you cannot re enter even for a drink. I requested a paper cup to take some ice cream out to my son and was point blank not allowed although he had not eaten that day. Food is repetitive and queues are silly, people pushing in all the time. Definitely the worst all inclusive we have stayed in.
Generally a lovely hotel but room 1003 was in bowels of hotel and despite being a lovely room left me feeling vulnerable as accesses via filthy Service lift and deserted corridors. Reception changed room for me without issue.
Very clean, pool area very nice but sunloungers can be difficult to obtain as they are claimed early. Entertainment is geared towards the French but I didn’t mind as was more for kids.
Food was ok always something to eat but a little repetitive and never better than lukewarm
Staff lovely if shown respect and seem to appreciate an attempt (if feeble) at Spanish!
I would definitely return as was overall a lovely holiday. They could do with improving the food temperature though.
Hotel is cheap and well located. Very clean. External refurb badly needed. Pool area and noise is a big minus. Bored and indifferent staff generally, with several exceptions.
