Facing the sea in Playa Paraíso, the H10 Atlantic Sunset is a brand new five-star resort with a modern and bright interior design. It has spectacular rooms, large swimming pools, one of them with an exclusive water games area for children, a wide range of dining options, a Despacio Spa Centre, Privilege, Exclusive Rooms and Services and a full entertainment programme for the whole family. In addition, the resort has an exclusive area for guests 18 and over with specialized services and leisure activities.
Extremely disappointing customer service.
I purchased a 5-night All Inclusive voucher for H10 Atlantic Sunset Horizons Collection and followed H10’s official procedure to request a reservation. Since then, I have contacted the hotel several times by email and through the official contact form, but I have received no reply at all.
I even contacted H10’s central reservations department. They confirmed that they forwarded my request directly to the hotel, yet I am still being completely ignored.
This is unacceptable. I have already paid for the voucher, and I should not have to repeatedly chase a hotel simply to receive a response about making a reservation.
At this point, I am extremely disappointed with H10 Atlantic Sunset’s customer service. A hotel of this level should be able to provide at least a basic response to a paying customer.
Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend this hotel.
We had a lovely holiday overall. The resort is so clean, all the drinks are branded and the food has been lovely. On the odd occasion it wasn’t, it was resolved quickly and efficiently by management.
The pool area was lovely and relaxing and we could always get beds, even though we never came down before 10am, which was a big plus!
The booking system was a bit of a pain. I totally get having to book the à la carte restaurants, but having to book breakfast and dinner every day seemed a bit much. You’re on holiday and don’t always want to have to plan what time you’re going to eat.
I think this is a wonderful resort for families with younger children as there is so much for them to do, and had our son been younger we would have really appreciated everything on offer. I do think it’s a shame there isn’t more for teenagers though. There were so many teens around the hotel and it would be great to have something to get them involved and help them make friends.
My only real constructive criticism would be the service at the lobby bar on an evening. There has to be a better system in place. There were often long waits and the waiter service seemed to wander around trying to work out which table the drinks belonged to. One night my husband was given a non-alcoholic bottle of beer by mistake and it took over 30 minutes and numerous trips to the bar to get it sorted.
We were also really disappointed on our last day to be told we couldn’t eat at the pool bar at 4pm and could only eat at the buffet until 3pm. We arrived late on our first night, so I do think this is disappointing for a 5-star hotel. We’ve stayed at other hotels where you get the same excellent service right up until the second you leave and it’s one of the reasons we’ve returned.
I have to give a special mention to Marcus who is an absolute asset to the hotel!
We have had a lovely holiday, but if I’m honest I don’t think we would return. For the same sort of price we feel we’ve had better service elsewhere. I also think it’s a little shortsighted from a hotel chain, as things like the service on our last day would put us off booking with them again in the future, especially when we compare it to what we’ve had from other hotels.
Recently returned from Atlantic Sunset. The hotel delivered what you expect for a 5* hotel and the price that goes with it. You can stay cheaper in Tenerife in an all inclusive but you get what you pay for and I feel we did. I was pleased as we have stayed here once previously and their is nothing more disappointing where a return visit doesn't live up to previous expectations. This did. Travelled with Jet2. Nothing to do with hotel but I had concerns at speed through the Tenerife South airport having previously had slow transits before and the introduction of the new EU entry system. Actually was quite quick both ways and had improved since our last visit. From airport via the bus was about 35 minutes I think and we were the only ones getting off. Really friendly welcome when we arrived at front of hotel from some one whose name i can't remember but a credit to hotel. Check in was efficient and quick once we pointed out had stayed before and didn't need all the info again. Glass of sparkling wine was nice touch as well. Later in day seems to get busier in late afternoon with more waiting. For a 5* hotel it would be nice to have bags taken to room as there seemed to be only one staff member doing this and they had just departed with another guest. The hotel architecture and style are fabulous but the layout isn't the easiest to navigate if you are new to the hotel. The hotel has a lot of steps and a combination of lifts are needed to get to your room with bags. Room - as other have stated it modern and clean with nice touches such as USB charging points near bed / good quality toiletries and mini bar free but restocked every other day. Block 2 overlooked on one side hard rock hotel which does seem noisy during day when went back to room but was quiet at night. The exception being some very drunk / loud guests one night. View of beach below was nice and partly of sea which most rooms would have. Temperature in room was nice at night and serviced daily to good standard and usually quite early. Towels were a little rough to say the least ! Good size
Food - main buffet was was good. We eat most things so had no issue at any meal time getting something we enjoyed. If you like fish it was particularly good. Peak meal times there did seem a bit of a wait going in despite booking system. Limited outside eating unless you got in early as we often did. Peak times did seem a little wait for a drink to arrive or be ordered. Be nice if at lunch and evening the juice machine was operational. Route 66 - great meal and even better service. Manager who introduced himself clearly takes a great pride in running a good quality restaurant. Lunch can be booked here as the pool bar. Again food good just can be a bit hot depending where you are seated Sakura - our daughter was over 12 so we good go this time unlike last. Again excellent food cooked in front of you on a tasting menu with the chef explaining everything. An experience as much as a meal. Really enjoyable. Italian - Food ok but menu a bit limited and on par with chain Italians back in UK in my feeling. Service good be better I feel here as well. Would be nice to sit outside but told no seats available despite half the tables empty none of which were re-laid for other guests while we were there.
Bars - really good range of drinks and branded. Beer was Estrella and wine for all inclusive was very drinkable. Measures for spirits very generous. Only gripes were non acholic cocktails very sweet and service in piano bar / terrace never the quickest despite at times not being too busy. Later in evening post meal this can slow down even more. Gave up waiting late one night. In the theatre you just went to the bar and this worked really well and far quicker than in the past when they came to your table. Since last visit another truck is by Lower pool which made waits during day to get a drink quiet quick.
Pools - middle pool is easy to get a sunbed around. At times staff took towels off beds that were reserved but not most days. Salt water with temperature ok. Top pool was very busy as were beds
Evening entertainment - really good especially compared to other hotels with lots of professional acts rather than in house team. Spanish dancers and Elton john tribute our favourites. Some more seats in theatre would help as compared to previous visit seems far less and quite hard to get unless you've ben there for mini disco.
Staff - vast majority but not all very friendly and hard working
Location - quite spot really with not too much going on around or shops. If you take exit by Spa (wife and daughter really enjoyed this and commented on quality) and head towards Hard Rock there are few up there.
Last day we had a late flight and were given use of a room by reception to shower and change for half hour. Clean ( not all rooms like this are in some hotels) with plenty of towels.
Stayed in other H10s an is a good chain to holiday with. Pay a bit more but then quality is higher.
Sakura was the highlight of our stay. Carlos and Dejan were so much fun and so attentive. All of the food was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. Thank you for a wonderful evening of memories
Tepenyaki restaurant was great, so much fun and the food was fantastic.
Carlos and Dejan looked after us, so attentive and so friendly..we absolutely loved them.
