Before travelling to Bahia Principe Tenerife, I have to admit that after reading some recent reviews we were feeling a little apprehensive about what to expect. However, our experience could not have been more different.

From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and we received a particularly warm welcome from Alex. He knew we were celebrating our anniversary and went above and beyond by arranging a banner on our room door and gifting us a bottle of rum, which was such a thoughtful touch and really helped make our stay feel special.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The décor throughout is stylish, modern and extremely well maintained. One thing that stood out to us was how clean everything was. From our room to the restaurants, bars, pool areas and other common spaces, the housekeeping and maintenance teams do a fantastic job. Our room was lovely, comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

We paid extra for The Club access and honestly cannot recommend it highly enough. The Club area was much quieter than the main pool, with plenty of available sun loungers and cabanas every day. The sea views were beautiful, and having access to the private lounge was a real bonus. Being able to help ourselves to hot drinks, beer on tap, spirits and sparkling wine throughout the day definitely added to the experience. The sandwiches and pastries weren't the most amazing we've ever had, but they were perfectly adequate as daytime snacks.

The Club package also included two à la carte dinners, and the food at both Gofio and Volcán was outstanding. Every meal was delicious, and as someone with food allergies, I was incredibly impressed with how seriously they were taken. Special thanks must go to Lorenzo, who somehow always remembered my allergies despite serving hundreds of guests every day. That level of care and attention really stood out and he was just such a nice man. Another special mention goes to Jorge, who was always friendly, welcoming and a pleasure to see around the hotel. All the staff were just so friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

If I had to mention one minor negative, it would be that the buffet at lunch and dinner could sometimes feel a little random in terms of food choices, and there wasn't always clear signage for every dish. As someone with allergies, this meant there were a few things I couldn't try because I wasn't completely sure what they contained. That said, there was still plenty of choice available, and I never struggled to find something to eat.

Overall, we genuinely cannot find anything significant to fault about this hotel. The beautiful surroundings, excellent facilities, wonderful staff and high standards of cleanliness made for a fantastic holiday. We left feeling something we've never felt before after a holiday: that we would absolutely return.

And if you're looking for guaranteed sunshine and heat, Tenerife is definitely the place to go!

If you like eating in a buffet it’s great but we much preferred the pre- refurbished dining options. It is now one Al a carte restaurant for dinner per visit and while there is a waiter service restaurant available for lunch it is essential you are there early if there are more than 2 of you. Staff are as great as they have always been. The refurbed rooms and bar/ restaurants are a matter if choice - I liked them my wife didn’t, especially the room where there is no door to the bathroom area and a glass sided shower unit. Bizarrely the toilet doors don’t shut flush as they close against the skirting board not the wall🤷‍♂️ This was about our 26th visit to Bahia Principe Tenerife / Costa Adeje resorts unfortunately it will be our last. Loved the Adult Only vibe.
