Tigotan Lovers and Friends Playa las Americas

I stayed here for a week with my sister and we both enjoyed Tigotan. The hotel is well laid out and really clean- the reception area literally smells so good!

Our room was the perfect size and there is plenty of storage for 2 people as well as a spacious bathroom. The shower was really good and I liked how it was a walk-in shower. We didn’t have book a pool view but the view from 563 was fine for us as it was technically a sea view and looked so stunning at night time. There is construction viewable from there but it’s not too bad or noisy if you don’t sleep in.

My favourite part about Tigotan was the service provided by staff and how kind and helpful they are to guests. I didn’t get names, but in particular Cafe del Mar and the staff on in the breakfast/dinner area were really pleasant.

I enjoyed the rooftop pool as it’s very relaxing and I thought the package was good value. (€45 for 2 beds and 6 cocktails)

The normal pool area was very clean with a lot of beds and the lifeguards are very on top of the sunbed reserving.

Entertainment was very good in Tigotan especially the performances in the rooftop bar.

My only downside was the air conditioning in our room wasn’t great. It didn’t feel like it was on at all and other guests felt the same so ours was definitely not broken. You do pay a lot for your stay so adequate air conditioning should be provided.

The location is good but it is not very close to the main “strip”/Golden Mile so it is a 15 minute walk which can be tiring in the heat. That’s obviously not the hotel’s fault just keep that in mind.

Overall I recommend Tigotan to people who want a good adults only option and a calmer hotel away from the busier parts of Las Americas, but also be prepared that it’s on the pricier side.

We have used the Tigotan hotel many times over the last ten years,often twice a year,sadly the standards have been slipping over the last few years but this visit was the most disappointing of all.We had booked a deluxe room with pool view ,we got the pool view but the room was a disgrace and certainly could not have been described as deluxe,it was shabby and tired and immediately outside in the corridor the carpet had been overlaid with a plastic sheeting as the carpet was in such a state of disrepair,clearly there was some sort of work going on at the end of the corridor which meant a fire door was shut most of the time making the already dimly lit corridor even darker.The only positive is that the staff are friendly and attentive . I doubt very much that we will return.
