Being just a couple of minutes’ away from the beach, this amazing hotel located in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife, is perfect for a romantic trip. The airport is just about 15 minutes away by car from the complex. The outdoor pool area is simply the best place, there guests can relax and unwind under the shadow of an umbrella, enjoy the sun by sunbathing or having a refreshing swim in the pool. The roof top pool will be another level of relaxation, rest on sun lounger while sipping from a margarita or swimming in the infinity pool while admiring the view of the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurant will receive them with open arms and delight them with delicious food and tasty beverages. After a full day of fun and entertainment, the rooms decorated with bright colours, equipped with all the essential amenities and cosy beds are perfect to have a good night sleep and have an unforgettable holiday.
I have stayed at Tigotan four times now, and historically, it has been a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, my current stay has been a huge disappointment. While the staff remain absolutely wonderful, kind, and hard-working, the food situation this year is a total disaster. The variety has been drastically stripped back to bare-minimum options, and the quality and flavor simply aren't there. Tonight, the food was so unpalatable that I had to leave the hotel altogether just to find something decent to eat. When raised, the explanation given was that changes were made to reduce food waste. While I respect sustainability efforts, guests pay for a full experience to enjoy themselves—not to go hungry or spend extra money eating out because the hotel's offering has fallen so far below standard. It’s heartbreaking to see a hotel I loved decline like this. Until the food standard and selection are restored, I won't be returning.
We had a great stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, and all the staff were very friendly. The reception staff and the housekeeping team did a great job.
The best part was the entertainment team. A special thank you to Katarina and her colleague Dario. They always made everyone smile, created a great atmosphere, and made our holiday even more fun.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. We highly recommend this hotel!
We had a mixed experience at this hotel. There were definitely some positives – the nudist area was a nice addition, the infinity pool was beautiful, and some of the food was genuinely delicious. We also really enjoyed the entertainment, especially the circus show on the day we arrived. Another nice touch was the pillow menu – the pillows were very comfortable, and you can even exchange them at reception if you prefer a different type.
Unfortunately, the downsides outweighed the positives for us. If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday, this is probably not the right place. The hotel was extremely crowded, and the whole area was quite noisy as well. We had loud neighbours throughout our stay, and there was a strong smell of marijuana in the hallways on several occasions.
The rooms were disappointing and felt very outdated. Overall, the hotel could really use a renovation, and the dark corridors didn’t make the atmosphere any better. Check-in wasn’t the best start either – the receptionist who welcomed us wasn’t particularly friendly. We also found that some members of staff spoke very little English, which made communication difficult at times.
One small but surprisingly annoying detail was the balcony light, which couldn’t be switched off. It stayed on all night, making it impossible to enjoy sitting outside in the evening.
Finally, be aware that the hotel charges a €20 deposit per person for pool towels, which came as quite a surprise.
Overall, while there were a few things we really liked, we wouldn’t choose this hotel again because it simply wasn’t the relaxing experience we were looking for.
Second visit to the Tigotan this year. Noticed a change in the age group of fellow guests - very young and sometimes noisy.
Excellent and efficient check in with Pablo.
Stayed in the same room that we stayed in during our February visit. Room extremely clean but starting to look 'tired'. The silicone seal in shower needs refreshed and the double sinks need to be bleached or a deep clean as they are both stained.
Carpeting to rooms still shabby and stained. Lighting poor.
Food choices in restaurant were excellent and management visible, checking in with guests. Special mention to Carmen who assisted me when I had fall in the restaurant. Every time she saw me she would ask how I was.
Loved the Exclusive Lounge with the snacks that changed 3 times a day and also the premium spirits, wine and beer.
Daytime entertainment was excellent. Very hard working entertainment team. Special thanks to Mike - sparkling personality and gorgeous smile! Foam party on Fridays not to be missed - so much fun!!
I will definitely return to this hotel, perhaps not in summer months as I prefer the chilled vibe I experienced during my previous visit.
Very disappointed with this hotel wish we had gone back to iberostar. Corridors dirty and so dark . All areas seemed dirty . Room was cold at night only given one sheet or a horrible blanket no quilt. Food was OK One of us was ill when there and the other came back ill. Lots of others saying they were like it . Smell of weed always. Lots of stagg parties. Was so disappointed and wouldn't come back .on walk back to hotels at night didn't feel safe in aera
