Great hotel, rooms are perfect, staff are very helpful and the UP experience is 10/10
All very good . No problems at all. Well done
We had a brilliant stay at this hotel, we were greeted by lovely staff on arrival late at night who couldn't have been any more helpful. Breakfast lasts until 12 which accommodates everyone. Plenty of sun loungers for all and they placed more if needed. We payed for a day on the UP! Balcony instead of the terrace, which came with unlimited drinks and an infinity pool (highly recommend!). The location is perfect and right by the golden mile.
The room was spacious and had all the essentials with the option to have towels and bedding changed daily. The only real noise you can hear during the day is from the hotel opposite but isn't annoyingly loud.
It is always rewarding to learn that the accommodations met and exceeded your expectations, particularly when it comes to the quality of the food and the warmth of the staff. Such feedback highlights the dedication of the team to providing outstanding service and memorable stays. We sincerely appreciate your kind words and hope your future visits continue to be as enjoyable.
My partner and I stayed at Hotel Vulcano for 10 nights in a Premium Pool View room, and overall we had a lovely holiday. The hotel has so much going for it, but there are a few areas that really need improving.
The location is fantastic – close to everything in Playa de las Américas while still feeling peaceful. The hotel itself is beautiful, especially the lobby and pool area at night. Our request for a high-floor room was honoured, the air conditioning worked brilliantly, housekeeping kept our room spotless every day, and all the staff we interacted with were friendly. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay by far. The choice was incredible, everything was fresh, and serving breakfast until 12pm was a fantastic touch.
There were, however, a few disappointments. The main pool has quite a few loose and missing tiles, and my partner actually cut their toenail on one of the sharp exposed edges. Thankfully it wasn’t serious, but it’s something that should really be repaired. Many of the sunbeds were also ripped, and the lifts were slow and unreliable.
The atmosphere around the pool was quieter than expected. Apart from the occasional game of bingo and a DJ who only appeared briefly after breakfast, there was no music or entertainment during the day. While many people come to relax, we felt the hotel could do a little more to create a pleasant atmosphere.
The breakfast was exceptional, but we found the food from the pool bar disappointing. The pizzas were very chewy and rubbery. The cocktails were also poor value, with a lot of ice and very little alcohol considering the price.
One evening we bought instant noodles from a nearby shop and simply asked for two forks. The bar directed us to reception, but reception refused because the kitchen was closed. We even offered to wash the forks ourselves if they were dirty, but were still told no. It felt like a very simple request that could have been accommodated.
The bathroom only provided shampoo and conditioner, with no shower gel.
Our biggest frustration was with the Premium Pool View package. We only discovered on our final day that the infinity pool area offered complimentary beer, water and juices. Nobody mentioned this at check-in or during our stay, despite us wearing Premium wristbands, so we spent money buying drinks from the pool bar that we didn’t need to. A simple explanation when checking in would have made a huge difference.
We also almost forgot to reclaim our €10 safe deposit because nobody reminded us at checkout, and finally, we were asked to leave a Google review before leaving. A member of staff selected five stars on our phone before handing it back for us to submit. We didn’t post it because we preferred to leave our own honest review.
Overall, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful, the location couldn’t be much better, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast is one of the best we’ve had. If the maintenance issues were addressed, Premium benefits were explained properly, and a little more attention was given to the pool atmosphere and bar quality, Hotel Vulcano would easily deserve five stars.
