What a brilliant hotel , second time here , yes we were facing Veronica's so noisy at night but with Dora shut the noise could still be heard but didn't stop us falling asleep , that is the only negative and you could always pay for a different room further away . Rooms spotless and cleaned every single day , wi fi free, kettle in room , safe at a low charge , good size tv . Plenty of storage . Staff very very pleasant .food was just fabulous , mainly English but a huge choice from carvery joints of beef, lamb, pork to sea bass , scallops, prawns , pizza fresh lamb steaks beef steak , desserts just wow , great big cakes not the tiny little squares , red. Velvet tiramisu.cheesecake , cheeses , salads and on and on , good gluten free section , all drinks free in dining room even on half board which is rare , dining staff so lovely , Pools were great sunbeds modern and plenty parasols , over in the shade where the trees are really needs a lot more sunbeds Only about 10 so had to take from pool area and carry them quite a way . Toilets spotless , filtered water free , entertainment we only saw one but very good Location perfect Gate straight onto sea front and very close to every thing, pool towels available to hire . Toilets spotless To be very very picky the floors need attention as the tiles are getting cracked and the reception area could be made lovely with plants and decor , we are in 60s and would return , loads of young people here and loads older , no trouble or rowdiness

Not sure why they get such bad reviews
Not sure why this hotel gets so much bad rep! Our experience was lovely, pleasant and I would stay again. I was dreading coming after reading recent experiences- but I’m really confused as to why people are so negative!
Reception area / pool area and restaurant is clean and tidy. You can’t take food out to the sun lounger, or smoke by the beds, which is ideal as you’re not going to be stepping on cigarette butts, or food. And that means no flies/ ants! Perfect! There is a designated seating area for smokers. And tables and chairs for you to enjoy your lunch. Perfect!
You get a token for the drinks situation- although this is a hassle, it makes sense , you have to take your cups back each time you want another drink. This means no mess again. We had all inclusive, and although some things weren’t even included, for instance Ice creams and some frozen cocktails - that’s ok! Everything else is! I think they could offer bottled water instead of the filtered machine, however cold water was readily available to drink. Drinks are help yourself during restaurant times.
Food- couldn’t complain! There was something there each night. Wide variety- of FRESH fish/ grilled meats/ salads/ pasta / chips/ countless desserts. There is something to offer everyone’s taste. We ate out once and to be honest I enjoyed the hotels food more.
Location is really good- now the reviews about noise from the strip is true. But what do you expect when it’s literally next door. It didn’t stop us from sleeping.
Room- clean and tidy and was cleaned / fresh towels daily. This could be down to the cleaner on our floor. But she even put a towel display on the beds. They tried to ask us to pay to upgrade to a sea view room. But it was sea view anyway which was silly. We didn’t spend much time in the room - and we couldn’t complain! The shower is beyond powerful! Yes it’s a bit dated and could do with a paint here n there but overall you cannot complain! We did have cannabis smokers next door to us but you can’t do much. We did mention it to the staff.
Staff- there are a LOT of rude staff in SOL! They need to learn customer service skills. Which is a shame cos that’s the thing that ruins your experience is the interaction! However - poor staff, and lifeguards are super amazing! The exercise classes staff were truly amazing with everyone, and a joy to watch. Restaurant staff / bar and reception - take note and learn some smiling happy skills!
Location is perfect to both sides. And legit just on the beach. Perfect!
Note to Sol- bottled water/ friendlier staff/ upgrade the rooms a little/ and install more than one plug in the room. Luckily we take an extension lead wherever we go.
Overall our experience was lovely. It wouldn’t stop me from going back.

Great hotel
This hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly and polite . The beds are very comfortable and breakfast was excellent with. A great variety of a food was very impressed. It’s is noisy at night but overall happy
Shocking experience
Awful, They are too restricted. Booked eith jet 2 and the rep was awful so rude. Pools closed, key cards didnt work 10 plus time was on 11th floor and had to keep going back and forward to reception. Staff were not supported when I was distressed. Single parent with 2 children. They asked me and my 2 young children to leave with no time to pack. Shocking reaction of hotel. Cockraoches all over, food disgusting. Hotel staff rude. Do not go here
Noisy room, take ear plugs.
This was our third visit to Sol Tenerife. I think we must have been lucky on the previous occasions, this time we were on the side facing the Veronicas strip. We had significant noise in the room until the early hours (4 am ish). A better patio door may have improved things, There were other issues, a fridge in the kitchen area that opened into the wall, a badly damaged electrical outlet that we used with care. They have also introduced a 'token' scheme around the pool bar, whereby you need a token for a 'glass' (actually a plastic beaker). On our first day I was unaware of this and queued for ten minutes at the bar before being refused service because our tokens had been left in the room. I can understand why such a scheme could be used to control guests who are there on all inclusive deals, we were not. On the positive side the food is very good, the entertainment staff around the pools do a great job. You might just need to get lucky and face away from the loud strip area.
