Returned home last Thursday after spending a week here,2 adults and our 6 year old granddaughter,we had a great time,we had a suite overlooking the road and the room was spacious the only problem was the air conditioning wasn’t very good so on the first night went to reception and was given a tall tower fan which was very good. We’ve been to a lot of hotels and we found the food really good,t bone steak, sirloin steak sea bass, prawns,a smaller choice than a lot of places but it seemed good quality and we never struggled to find something. Our room was cleaned everyday and we heard little of the work being done, just a couple of days where we heard work but only for 5 or 10 mins We found the entertainment to be good, round the pool at night on the Thursday night was a Tom jones singer and loads of games for the kids to play and then the rest of the week different singers and then on the Wednesday our last night was a brilliant salsa party.the indoor entertainment in the Berlingo lounge was also very good,we saw a male singer from Venezuela there who was very good and a lady doing magic who was excellent entertainment.our grandaughter loved the place and keeps asking when we are going back.all in all a great weeks holiday and we will definitely return
Very disappointing – air conditioning and lack of accountability Our experience at Marylanza was extremely disappointing, particularly when it came to the air conditioning in our room, which was not working properly. We reported the problem to staff, but instead of properly resolving the issue, we were given a fan. In the heat, a fan is not an acceptable replacement for functioning air conditioning, especially when you have paid for accommodation where air conditioning is provided.
What was even more frustrating was the lack of accountability from staff. We felt that nobody wanted to take responsibility for the problem or genuinely try to resolve it. We were left feeling as though our concerns were an inconvenience rather than something the hotel should have taken seriously.
When you spend a considerable amount of money on a holiday, you expect the facilities advertised and provided as part of your accommodation to actually work. If something goes wrong, you expect the hotel to take ownership, apologise and put it right — not simply hand you a fan and consider the matter dealt with.
The whole experience left us extremely disappointed and took away from what should have been an enjoyable holiday.
A fan is not a solution to broken air conditioning.
Marylanza needs to take greater responsibility for its guests' complaints and, more importantly, actually resolve problems rather than offering temporary fixes and expecting customers to accept them.
Based on our experience, we would think very carefully before booking this hotel, particularly if travelling during hot weather or with young children.
As this was our first holiday with TUI, I would say that overall we had a good experience and came home with some lovely memories from Tenerife.
What made the holiday particularly easy was having the airport transfers included, as it took away a lot of the stress of arriving and leaving. I also found the TUI app useful, especially for keeping up with information and communication during the holiday.
There are, however, a few things that I think could make the TUI experience even better. Clearer information about which excursions include transport would be helpful, as some of the bookings we looked at didn’t make this immediately obvious. We also found it frustrating that some of the hotel’s à la carte restaurants were so difficult to book.
Most importantly, I think there is an opportunity to make guests feel a little more special. We were celebrating both my son’s 11th birthday and my 50th birthday during the holiday, and unfortunately neither occasion felt particularly acknowledged. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant — sometimes a small gesture, a birthday message or simply making guests feel noticed can become one of the memories they remember most.
The hotel itself was good, the food was excellent and the overall holiday was enjoyable, but with a little more attention to detail, better consistency with entertainment and clearer information, I think it could have gone from a good holiday to an exceptional one.
We paid for a holiday, but what makes people choose a company again is often the little things that make them feel looked after. That’s where I think TUI has an opportunity to make an already good experience even brighter. 😊
Clean and friendly staff Great food and drink Very close to Las Americas and Los Christianos
I’ve stayed in more plush hotels in Turkey. However this hotel is very very good
