- H10 Las Palmeras

It's always exciting to discover a holiday hotel like this one: H10 Las Palmeras is a truly fabulous facility in Playa de Las Americas. With 519 rooms, it's one of the biggest on the island – but it's got such a spacious feel to it, and is so carefully laid out that it won't feel like it.
With a breathtaking range of amenities and some equally breathtaking views of its sub-tropical gardens too, the H10 Las Palmeras hits all the right notes for Tenerife holidaymakers who know that choosing the right hotel is just as important as choosing the right holiday destination.
Of course it's not just about how many amenities a hotel has, but how good they really are. For instance, the H10 Las Palmeras has three swimming pools, including the children's pool, and they're all wonderful. The main outdoor pool looks like a big clear lagoon, partly surrounded by spectacular trees and vegetation. You won't be able to resist taking a dip at every opportunity.
Then there's the choice of where to eat. The hotel boasts two restaurants (and four bars), offering an exceptional standard of service and tempting selections for all palates. And because the H10 Las Palmeras is so well situated, you'll have direct access to the beach and the Playa de Las Americas promenade, with all of its many places to eat and drink.
The rooms at the Playa de Las Americas are a great example of what makes this hotel so special. That sleek, sophisticated design aesthetic certainly helps you appreciate it's four star quality.
All double / twin rooms are air conditioned and equipped with satellite TV (with piped music available), telephone and hairdryer; safe boxes are also available to hire. You'll have your own private bathroom and a balcony or terrace so you can bask in the warm, fragrant air. (Sea view rooms are also available – just ask for details.)
Additional facilities – and there are many – include a laundry service, souvenir shop, games and TV rooms, internet corner and a full programme of live entertainment.
Top notch design and facilities makes H10 Las Palmeras in Playa de Las Americas a uniquely stylish hotel in an ideal location.
By the sea with direct access to the beach promenade and surrounded by extensive sub-tropical gardens, H10 Las Palmeras is a large well-equipped hotel in Playa de Las Americas. Rooms are comfortable with top class facilities. Guest amenities include three swimming pools a choice of restaurants and bars, and facilities for children. Guests receive FREE entry into Orchid Gardens in Puerto de La Cruz.
I’ve spent about an hour filling this in for the hotel experience survey so I thought I would share it with others as it is a very in-depth review.
Reception
The reception staff were friendly and helpful - we had one issue throughout the duration or our stay with the lock on the door not allowing us entry. Spoke to reception and the issue was resolved with 5 minutes and they had left a wee form on the door that stated issue was looked at and resolved - which left us knowing they'd looked at it.
The reception area itself was immaculate everything was spotlessly clean and you can tell the staff all take immense pride in their work.
We didn’t get our €10 deposit back from the safe, it was never addressed why but it was only €10 so happy enough to take that on the chin - €25 total (including the lost deposit) is fine with me in terms of safe cost for 9 nights.
Room
Where to start with this... The only negatives I can come up with are that the rooms were small in comparison with other hotels that we've stayed at for the same price - that being said, it was enough space for everything we needed, my partner would be getting ready in the room and I would sit out on the balcony with a beer and admire the gorgeous sea view from the room. At no point did the compact room negatively affect my stay - merely worth mentioning so it isn't a surprise to anyone reading this review. The other negative would be that the air con while certainly functional could do with being a touch colder. We both enjoy sleeping in a cold room and although the room temperature was comfortable enough to sleep in, it was at no point - cool. It did provide comfort from the Tenerife heat when required but it wasn't the icy cool I would have personally preferred.
The amenities in the room were fantastic, they provide a shaving kit, oral hygiene kit and comb etc - which are all of very good quality - the soaps, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are all of good quality and plenty provided for duration of the stay.
The cleaning staff are incredible! They did an amazing job of our room every day and there was even a day we were still in our room when they visited (normally that has meant we’ve missed that days cleaning) but they visited some point in the afternoon when we were out - this was a very pleasant surprise. We are by no means messy but it’s always nice coming back to a made bed and a freshened room.
Restaurants - attention and kindness of staff
The staff themselves were incredible - the breakfast is very fast paced and staff turnaround of tables was unbelievable, they were incredibly quick and we never had any issue getting a spot at any meal. The tables were always cleaned to a high standard. The staff serving food were always smiley and looked happy - which goes a long way. This was reflected in the quality of the food. Everyone in the entire dining area were cheerful and upbeat. Definitely the highest quality buffet restaurant experience I’ve had. Not sure if it is a direct rule but they tend not to refill your drinks at lunch or evening meal unless you ask - if asked there is never an issue but you can end up sitting with an empty glass.
Also - they can be a bit too fast on the table turnaround, if you don’t leave a personal item on the table then you may find that coming back with a second plate and someone is cleaning your table and you have to sit somewhere else. This never happened to us as I always left my sunglasses on the table but we definitely witnessed it happening to others.
Restaurants - Quality and Variety
Breakfast -
Great selection for breakfast - the hotel caters to whatever you can possibly imagine, I'd have a range of everything over the 9 nights. Started off with custom made omelets which are cooked right in front of you, grilled ham & cheese sandwiches, full cooked breakfast, pancakes and honey, fruit, nuts and yoghurts, there was no day I ever felt stuck - my partner was OBSESSED with the breakfast options to the point it was nearly the highlight of the holiday. The self service coffee machines could be of better quality (I'm a bit of a coffee snob and prefer fresh ground coffee) these were like a high quality instant coffee... but everything tasted slightly sweetened. The only other slight complaint would be that at some point around day 5 the sausages at breakfast were replaced by hotdogs... was not a fan of this and switched to pancakes and grilled cheeses! Cava at breakfast is fantastic btw!!!
Lunch - The selection every lunchtime is fantastic, again the menu varies every day - personal highlight was the freshly cooked burger, gutted that was only one day of the duration we stayed. Again though it had everything from freshly cooked pasta dishes, fresh grilled meats that were getting done in front of you to the usual all inclusive buffet items (chips and simple stuff). A decent selection of cooked meats, cheeses, salad bar, breads and crackers as well which were always a great second course. i was partial to a white wine or beer - my partner always went for either Sangria or a bottled softdrink - the all inclusive is very much All Inclusive!
Evening meal - Every night were there was a different 'themed' night... all of the themes we went to were brilliant - personal highlight was the bbq night, they had a guy of the terraces bbq'ing roast beef and chicken and I absolutely had too much haha! There was every from international buffet to Tropical, to Italian to Moroccan - all of very high quality and there was always the option of the all inclusive standard big hitters if you were ever struggling with selection.
Bar -
Will start with the negative to begin with - Imagine Bar, this is the bar on floor -1 next to the elevators, I can't actually give this a good or bad review as there seemed to be no confirmed opening hours - there was signs saying that it was closed from 01-May-26 but then sometimes it was open with just a staff member in there, sometimes people were coming out with a drink, it just appeared to be inconsistent and we never knew if we were allowed in or not.
Onto the positives - the pool bar is incredible, the staff are friendly and the manage to navigate the queues very efficiently, you're never waiting too long for a drink. The rule is technically that they only serve you one drink at a time but they had no problem in serving me one for me and my partner at the same time and if quiet then they let us order 4 drinks at one point to save us going back up so often. They are friendly and chatty as well so easy to talk to. What I am very impressed about is the attention to detail from the bar staff at the pool bar - they are so on the ball with the queue system that there is ZERO skipping the line, and if you do try to skip then they won't serve you until your turn - this is a big one as it prevents the issue of the loudest getting served before everyone else. The pool bar area is very clean, they let you order drinks in just trunks but to sit in the bar area you need to have a t shirt on (fully agree with this) and it is politely but well enforced. Clean, tidy, friendly and a fast service is all you can really ask for.
The lobby bar - we only used this a few times throughout our stay, staff are of the same quality as the pool bar - asset to the hotel! The all inclusive menu is clearly laid out so you know what you can have (we never found anything we couldn't have). The cocktails are tasty and refreshing, the Sangria is to die for, the beer is Estrella and there is a Estrella with lemon which is like a lager tops (in scotland) and that is also dynamite. Very impressed with the selection.
The sky bar is also worth a visit, fantastic views and the cocktails up there are even better!!! As it is a lot less busy they blitz them in a blend instead of poured over crushed ice so the pina colada is of the same quality you’d pay €10 for when out!
Animation and Activites -
My partner and I are in our 30’s and don’t have children, we also don’t actively look to participate in the day time activities. What the entertainment team did a very good job of was making the activities very welcoming both to participants and spectator without ever being too pushy. I hate being dragged up and kind of pushed into participating, this wasn’t like that - they were friendly, asked nicely but still energetically and took no for an answer. The personal highlight for me was having a nice beer watching a very animated and fun water polo match without the need to participate. I don’t know the names of the 3 entertainers that I saw when I was there but all 3 of them are so natural with people, they are delightful to watch. Always active (they must be exhausted) and they are an absolute credit to the H10 brand. Watching them get all the kids up at the mini disco is just such wholesome fun! Absolutely love to see it. Brilliant animation team 10/10.
Hotel in general
Cannot fault any of it. We were apprehensive about the hotel after checking the location and seeing that it is right next door the a very rowdy, late night pub.. however, the security presence in the hotel is very well known, during the day they are often walking about (we saw 4 different security guards throughout our stay) all of them friendly and cheery but quite imposing. From about 9pm every night the door is manned and security are checking that the people entering have an H10 band on - the check is visual and from a distance, we were never stopped once. There was one altercation at the pool where a guest was particularly ignorant and causing a nuisance, a long day of strong drinks and a personality which didn't need encouragement. This was resolved within about 5-10 minutes and the situation was totally diffused. Cannot give the security enough credit. The Las Palmeras has also eliminated single use plastic use on site - this for me is a BIG DEAL there is no glass outdoors (outside of the dining area) and the staff challenge it straight away. Instead everything is served in reusable plastic cups and there are plenty of them. At no point of this holiday were there any of the cheap plastic cups blowing around the pool - very impressed with this. The hotel was immaculate in every sense, everything was exceptionally clean, the staff clearly enjoy their work as they were all very efficient, happy and friendly - this was our first stay at a H10 resort and we will definitely be staying at one again. Unbelievably impressed. Truly a 5 star stay in our books.
The aesthetic of the entire pool area was great, it feels private and secluded while also staying involved, there is plenty of loungers, at any time of the day we turned up we were able to get a shady spot or a sun trap, there are plenty of parasols and even better there is natural shade built into the pool area too which is fantastic. The pool was clean and a good temperature to cool off. There is not a lot of chlorine in it as my eyes weren't stinging and there was no discolouration of my shorts, so there was no oily suncream layer on the surface of the pool. I have no idea how they have achieved such a clean result as you never actually see someone tending to the pool, it's just always clean. We never used the kids splash pool but the statements are true for both the light and dark blue pools.
The woman that collects the empty cups around the pool needs a special shout out - whilst me and my partner always take our empties back to order new drinks this is not true for everyone and she was a trooper the whole holiday, always passing by and keeping the area spotless.
Your stay -
Perfect. It was exactly what we needed. We work a lot and we decided that we both needed a break to spend time together and switch off from external distractions - to basically do nothing but catch the sun and enjoy our company. This hotel and the staff within it allowed us to do exactly that. A very precious 9 nights away together. I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you.
What did you like most about the hotel and why - The level of service from the staff. I was not expecting such a high level of service, everything we experienced was better than we expected - and that is across the board.
I’ve not actually mentioned it yet but the evening entertainment every night was actually really good. We would usually only stay in maybe a night or two then spend the rest of the time exploring the city nightlife.. we found ourselves in Mikes coffee bar (which is exceptional) every night watching the mini disko then at the pool bar for the evening entertainment - every night apart from the Scotland game.
What are your suggestions for improvement -
To give away a free all-inclusive stay to the best reviews haha! Just continue to keep the level of quality within your staff and you can’t go wrong.
I dont usually write reviews but I felt I had to write one due to the food I have been going to Tenerife for years with staying in different hotels always had lovely food but this hotel was awful all I eat was chips and cake as there was nothing else for me to eat my husband mum and dad eats anything but they found it hard to eat anything good The buffet was very limited you only at dinner got 1 veg if your lucky you might get 2 the salad was very limited as well as usually you have in other hotels beetroot sweetcorn ect at lunch and dinner but you only got it at lunch and some days nothing There was other dishes which looked like casseroles they didn’t look great The chicken was very salty There just wasn’t a lot of variety on hot food very sparse They couldn’t seem to cook meat as steak was rare if you asked for it well done you never got it like that the blood was all over the plate going into other food on plate so it all had to be put in bin everyone in there was leaving it as well I didn’t get why burger was like that as snack bar wasn’t like it so if you want a burger get it there The breakfast wasn’t great the sausages wasn’t proper sausages and the bacon was terrible If you have children I wouldn’t recommend going to this hotel as there was nothing for them to eat they had chicken fingers and they was horrible there was pasta but you had to ask for it as they was just cooking it behind counter with sauces ect on it I’ve never been in hotel where kids couldn’t help there self to it apart from them two things and chips that’s all most kids got to eat I usually go with 7 grandchildren glad I didn’t take them as I would of had to eat out everyday The only good thing they had in restaurant was the cakes sweets and ice cream It’s a very quiet hotel due to lack of music around the pool there was none which was very annoying as all you could hear was the bloke playing waterpolo shouting out the score and it went on for two hours if you had music you wouldn’t of been able to hear it as much No one was allowed a ball in bigger pool you could take it in other pool but children went in with ball but told to get out as they was playing waterpolo and other activities I will just say I can’t fault the staff and the cleaning in this hotel very quick at bar so you didn’t have to wait long I wouldn’t return to this hotel again as food was only two to three star everyone we spoke to was not happy with food if your a vegetarian there’s not much there for you We eat out a few times which I shouldn’t of had to do as we was all inclusive I’ve uploaded pictures so you can see what you get
Very delicious food. Recommend
We had only heard good things about this hotel which makes me writing this review feel even more shocking.
Location Firstly the Location, the location is very good with being about a 5 minute walk both from the strip and golden mile with a taxi rank outside. The hotels also a 25 minute walk from siam park which is quite straightforward to complete. and has a door at the back of the hotel straight onto the beach.
Bathroom This is where it goes downhill, on arrival to our room on level 2 with a street-view, The bathroom was the first thing we noticed, outdated with cracked tiling and a below average bath/shower. The shower head was at the same level as ribs with no option to move it which made showering extremely awkward.
Bedroom Next the room, the beds were fine experiencing no problems with them for the week we stayed. Plugs were located next to each other across the room with no table nearby meaning charging was extremely awkward. However, the sliding door to the balcony had a broke metal frame (which was the right hand panel) on our first night, we immediately reported this to reception who wrote it down but took no action on this issue, by the end of the week this part of the frame was barely hanging on and extremely precarious.
Balcony The balcony was standard, being above the dubliner we expected loud noise into the night. However the balcony had dried up sick on the railing, which hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest obviously. This was also reported, and once more never acted upon the whole week we stayed despite “cleaners” being in everyday. This meant only half the railing could be leant or used to hang drying towels ect. In conclusion this meant our room was Very poor.
Pool The pools are clean with 3 separate pools, one small one for children. However unless you wish to swim up and down the pool for your whole stay you are extremely limited. Lifeguards do not allow balls in the pool which i’ve never heard of in a family friendly all inclusive, yet allow diving in head first. Drinks are not allowed to be drank whilst in the pool nor whilst on the edge of the pool. The daytime entertainment is very limited with the same volleyball, waterpolo ect. and the one possible unique activity for the day. There are good Sun-bed availability however.
Food For me this is the only redeeming factor. The food here is extremely good. Each day was different yet never dipped in quality. I found myself with multiple plates of different food which i thoroughly enjoyed - compliments to the chefs. However i must note that on two occasions the chicken and turkey was raw that we grabbed from the buffet. Despite this i was extremely impressed as to cater for a large hotel all inclusive usually means a poorer quality food.
Staff
The staff at the bar were professional dealing with queues rapidly and swiftly. The waiters during food are constantly on the go and willing to stop and grab you a drink even if busy. However during peak times of Food service there may be times where no staff are sighted. The cleaners are friendly when walking past, however it’s the almost dismissive attitude of the reception which ruins the staff’s reputation. 2 complaints, both not resolved and both we were fobbed away. The entertainment staff seem jolly and try to make the most of what at times were grumpy holiday goers however they need better speakers as if you are across the pools you cannot hear them or the music they play.
Conclusion Overall i’m EXTREMELY dissatisfied by my experience and would not be returning to this hotel. They have definitely not lived up to expectations and managed to dampen what was a last minute break from a busy personal life. Disappointed.
Hotel in good location with back gate exit on to the beach. Pool and grounds are kept clean and tidy. Pool bar busy and often had to get up and ask staff to take our food order they could have done with more staff covering the food service. Pool bar food was fantastic and perfect for kids in particular if they wanted hot dogs, burgers, chips etc Food in the main restaurant was ok, breakfast was the best plenty of choices, evening meal was a let down from time to time I had to use the microwave on a couple of occasions to heat soup up and potatoes … chips were often very under cooked. Topping up the food was a daily issue when it got busy they couldn’t keep up with refilling the trays and often stood with food on your plate getting cold while waiting for staff to bring out more … 2 small trays of chips between hundreds of guests trying to eat at one time is not really acceptable. Reception staff lovely very helpful, but I did tend to find if you left a message on an evening it wasn’t passed to day staff and therefore would need to ask again. Speciality restaurants were good the Italian was fantastic food and service. Rooms were small we looked out the back where the restaurant air con vents were pumping out food smells luckily we don’t use the balcony but something to consider to check once you get your room. Rooms were not cleaned to any decent standard at all for our 10 days they made beds, emptied bin and replaced the towels. I repeatedly asked them to clean bathroom sink and clean bathroom tiles and floor as there was hair there (not ours) from us in checking to to leaving, the chair under the desk was also grubby and the frame of the wardrobe had spilt drink down it …. Little things like this let the hotel down and not 4 star quality like you expect.
